He had power and influence as long as he sucked potato dick, and he decided at some point that he was above that.

So the potatotariat decided that, despite the obvious risks, it would be better to simply bring Raubahn and Nanamo back and continue the status quo.

WAR players are the worst offenders of this. It actually has gotten to the point where it annoys me when I queue up and my co-tank is a WAR, because they just get to skate on through everything as a DPS while I do the real work. It seems like I encounter them more often than PLDs and DRKs now too.

He is obviously capable of plots and his master plan to wipe out Ilberd, the Scions, and the WoL in one fell swoop was pretty good considering he was cut off from the potatoes at that point in time. Hey man not all Mhiggers are terrible. Landebert is shady, but pretty smart. Wilred was a misguided youth when you first met him, but turned his shit around. Arenvald's always been on the up and up, and now is completely dedicated to making stuff better after all his companions sacrificed themselves to keep him alive. Gundobald is a crotchety old asshole, but he keeps Little Ala Mhigo going without much in the way of handouts by providing services to the Blades.

Oh, I forgot about him. He's also specifically not mentioned in the lorebook (unless there's more about the scions the user who posted this series didn't post)

I do actually really like Lolorito and how they pulled back from the regicide plot they pulled in 2.55. I still feel it probably wasn't planned to just go backwards on all of that development, but they did it in a semi-graceful way that salvaged his credibility tremendously.

They could still absolutely have proceeded forward with the same plotline with Nanamo dead, it would just instead involve Raubahn being a murderous psychopath instead of just a one-armed version of himself.

I think the main team just wasn't ready to invest in the Game of Uldah Thrones plotline to its bitter end. The effect of restoring Nanamo to the throne and leaving Lolorito in power, resulting in hyping up Lolorito further as the world's most mysterious and dangerous free citizen in the free realms, was probably unintended but nevertheless hilarious.

Yeah, actually restricting the player's movement in the Ul'Dahn region, even if temporarily, figuring out where to go with Raubahn/Ilberd (I doubt they ever meant to kill Raubahn), either writing Lolorito into a tenuous ally who you don't trust and kind of hate, or organizing some Ul'Dah dungeon so you get to go and kill him would just be a lot of effort, any way you slice it.

Also fun note, apparently Yda and Papalymo killed far more Brass Blades and Crystal Braves than Thancred/Y'shtola, enough to actually cause a huge dent in their ranks before fucking off with the Ala Mhigans help. And unlike Y'shtola/Thancred/Minfilia, got away pretty much injury free.

I was very sad that we didn't get to murder literal hundreds of Brass Blades/Braves and escape the city at that point of the game, but at least someone did it.

Garleans are actually their own race with that third eye thing going on. The Roe earned his position through merit, Gaius is an outlier in Garlean society though, usually anybody not of actual Garlean descent gets shoved into frontline canon fodder positions.

Garleans are a race of their own. Anyone of a different race who works for them comes from one of their conquered territories.

Garleans will conscript conquered territories' people into their armies with no hesitation, they just cannot rise very far in the ranks, Rhitahtyn only got as far as he did because of Gaius' extremely forward thinking leadership compared to the rest of Garlemald, and even then, Praefectus Castrorum was definitely the highest he could possibly go.

Well, he needs those to cast spells.

Yeah gameplay wise you'd need to either resolve the entire situation immediately, drastically lessening its impact, or actually restrict the player from entering Ul'Dah, which would be a lot of effort on the devs' part to keep things working regardless.
