Yes, in every way.
>inb4 story
Are you implying it didnt have a good story? It had by far the most enjoyabke story of all the games.
Only thing holding it back was being in the assassin's Creed universe.
>Muh abstergo diversity
Besides outside the animus it was bretty good
you were not an assassin. you were a pirate. this is a pirate game. a very very GOOD pirate game. but it is NOT a assassins creed game.
>inb4 but the story
fuck the story they could of focused on making a full fledged pirate game and made it 100 fold better
I wish I was kidding but I don't like it cause "muh dual wield", I find the concept retarded, doubly so on a ship.
First one was the best.
I like the feeling of being part of something bigger you know? It's hard to do that with a pirates-only kind of thing, thats why I think it was good in the AC UNiverse, even if it is a shitty Universe.
This
It should have just been a new IP called Black Flag or something.
AC 2 is the best "Ass Creed" game but 4 is the best game in the series if that makes sense.
>Allah akbar the game
>Fun as fuck pirating
>Story made me feel
>LEAVE HER JOHNNY
11/10 pirate game but I hold 2 as the best assassin game.
but pirates did do that
>when your crew sings Drunken Sailor
For it's time and for being revolutionary, yes.
Maybe so, but no one else in the game does. Makes hin look like an *unsheathes katana* type of autist.
Was the only name I could remember, been like 2 years I think.
I had a favourite but don't remember it, guess I gotta look now.
Yes, no problem with that opinion.
This. It could be a fucking amazing pirate game, instead it was just a good AC game.
He's a pirate captain. He and bb are the only ones who could afford it
Why the FUCK is the pc version so unoptimized?
The cutscenes are so out of sync from the audio that it's worse than any of those old dubbed over kung-fu movies
Graphic settings seem to do fuck all to fix this as well
Ac4 was more catered towards the ps4..
? Never had this problem. Only problem I had was the ship like flipping upsidedown and shooting straight to hell and leaving a void of dead soldiers
if your a cut throat pirate you don't need to buy a sword. just steal it off the people you raid. and the navy had surplus swords for sure
Sid Meiers: Pirates is the better pirate game, this one doesn't even come close.
nah, revelations was
...
I thought you were talking about pistols lol. Still though lol. And the navy didnt just give out sabers, thats why they only got one, if any at all. But yeah it was a bit weird lol.
Revelations was the first AC game sans 1 that I didn't play on day 1 and never finished.
The only one I finished released after Revelations was black flag which doesn't count. Revelations marked the downfall of AC and you should feel bad about your opinion.
It's literally just generic asscreed+boats.
...
Definitely the best AC. Great protagonist, great supporting characters, fantastic setting and just generally atmospheric as fuck.
I don't even mind the usual modern day AC bullshit, as it was at least meta as fuck being in a developers studio and the stuff with the Sage was entertaining.
>tfw
Sid Meiers: Pirates
>Lets you sail in all the different ships in game, from small courier ships to large ships of the line
>Lets you seduce big breasted women and use their skills in court intrigue to find your lost family
>Lets you conquer ports in the name of your favorite nation
>Has fencing that isn't just "hold block and press counter when promted to do so"
>but it is NOT a assassins creed game.
Yeah this was a good game instead.
>Sid Meiers
>not an assasins creed game
You're right, it wasn't a leftist shill Muh anarchy fairy tale. It was more of a independent voter type of game.
Man, when I was like 10-12 I was obsessed with AC1. I played it so much that I knew all of the dialog by heart.
Was so fucking hype for 2, I remember when that 11 second clip leaked of Ezio running then landing or whatever. Preordered as soon as possible and had the receipt sitting in a box until what was it November 9th 2009 or something when it finally released and I played the shit out of it.
Simpler times.
>Anything but Spanish Ladies
Get off my ship.
>Lets you conquer ports in the name of your favorite nation
Nothing piratical about that
My point is that the game gives you a lot more freedom than ACIV does. But you are really more of a Privateer in Sid Meier's Pirates.
They're two different genres with different gameplay, so on that level they can't be compared
AC4 is the more authentic pirate game though
>AC4 is the more authentic pirate game though
Depends on what you want with your authenticity. If you want boarding action and third person fights; yes it is.
If you want "steal from the spanish, sell the stolen goods, rinse and repeat" and "Why is the wind coming from the east when I want to go east" and other more strategic elements, then Sid Meier's Pirates is the more authentic game.
>steal from the spanish, sell the stolen goods, rinse and repeat
You can do that in AC4
You can also have trouble sailing against the wind in AC4. You can also board ships and fight enemies in third person in Sid Meier's Pirates, but each game is respectively better at the things I mentioned you could do in them in my opinion.
play rogue
there is nothing fun about this game. every time i ask some one to explain why its fun they always say muh comfy pirating, but what the fuck does that even mean?
the ass creed part of the game is as buggy and dumbed down as ever, and there is nothing amazing about the sailing. fighting a man o war or a ghost ship for the first time might be fun, but it gets old extremely quick.
Rogue is also good. It's Black Flag with some extra mechanics and a Templar story.
You shouldn't play them back to back though since the core gameplay is too samey.
Good pirate game, but that shitty assassin mini game it forces you to play every now and then gets old fast.
The AC universe was better before everything became became sort of like a "grand jewish conspiracy" where almost every major morally ambiguous figure in history was secretly either an Assassin or a Templar.
>Oh hey shit's going down in this country run by a tyrant. Oh hey the tyrant is actually a Templar.... again? What a fucking surprise...
this isn't AC2
