Arizona Sunshine locks modes if you don't have i7 cpu

>Dev announces game.
>Says Intel helped fund the game and that some graphical settings will be LOCKED unless you have an i7.
>Game releases.
>Turns out those settings aren't actually locked, it's just recommended that you have an i7 to use them.
>Instead, two entire game modes are LOCKED unless you have an i7 (only 5th, 6th and 7th gen Intel® Core™ i7) UNTIL MARCH 2017.
>Price of the game is still the same, the store doesn't mention lacking features.

Are we living in a brave new world? I have an i7 6700k but what the fuck? Whatever Intel paid these people, it wasn't enough. The fix is already out, it just removes the cpu check, meaning that there was no good reason to lock the modes, besides anti-consumer deals.

What the fuck. Mother of fucking god I didn't think this level of stupidity was possible. Games are done. we survived DLC, DRM, Microtransactions, Buggy launches, Corrupt reviewers, Twitch and Youtuber culture, Half generation consoles and early access but this is to much. This is an affront not just to PC Gaming, But to gaming as a whole. Boycotting this game won't be enough. Intel is testing the waters with this game. The future is not bright. Art is dead.

>vrshit
As if one form of cancer wasn't enough.

literally who

Poorfags need not apply.

A top selling game on steam.

Knock knock, You're a retard.

Intel is starting console like wars with PC hardware now, that's fucked.

They already reversed this, but how could anyone be so stupid?

Sadly, this seems to be the way some PC releases are heading.
I worked in many companies as a monetization designer and this kind of deals are actually surprisingly profitable for companies, sometimes even way too profitable for what you'd expect a game to earn either through sales or in-game store. You fear backlash if you put micro transactions? You fear the fans will not like a game having hard currency? Well, guess what, if your game is good enough or your marketing is strong enough, you can try to get a deal with a tech company and try to get both money and visibility that way, even if it fucks up performance or disables graphical options.

I had never seen gameplay options being locked out though.

there was a time before the internet where a ton of bullshit for consoles was made....so much bullshit it caused the video game collapse...that time again is coming once more. it started before with the ET game as its herald and now No Mans Sky will be its successor

I get that games cost a lot of money to make. I get that it's hard to turn a profit with vr. I'm not even mad about devs going for oculus money in return for exclusivity rights.
The issue for me was the complete lack of acknowledgement or warning by the dev that this game you're paying full price for is incomplete. That shot is not ok.

Maybe you should read up on the meaning of install base numbers, windowlicker.

so am I correct in assuming AMD also gets locked from that gamemode?

>Another fucking multiplayer open world zombie game
>With VR gimmick meaning that absolutely fucking no one will be playing it

Well that's a shit game right out of the window

t. shill

>tfw you'll never be paid to shill for a dead on arrival game that is marketed at a niche audience of a niche audience.

What happens after the crash?

The option has already been updated out. The game is one of the most polished ones for VR so it's a bit sad they fucked it up already. The Vive especially needs more games like it to stay alive. Oculus is already looking like the better choice.

It's also clear none of you guys even looked at the game page lol

ok if any console fags want to call me a pc cuck now's the time

I will accept it, even though I've never heard of this game before but it's such a shitty thing to do

see

Literally never heard about this game till now.

i just dont understand

Nintendo happened

Also the crash only affected the American market as Europe was dominated by Commodore and Japan by NEC and Nintendo

Another non-issue being kicked up into a frenzy. You're still going to get the same exact content, but you just have to wait a few weeks. Basically, consider it time-locked exclusive DLC and learn some patience. You could also unlock them at any time by getting the appropriate hardware. There's really no excuse not to have it already.

If you really need some way to make your ego feel better, then think of how you can tell Intel owners they were beta testing the modes for you.

kek.
PC fags dont even have an i7?

im more of a consolefag but even my computer has an i7 6700k. it was only $50 more than an i5.

why do PCfags talk so much shit on consolefags about hardware when most people with a PC have shitty hardware? fucking pathetic.

We're sorry... ;_;

This is why I always get pissed off at mustards who say pc is an open platform because you purchased the hardware from an oem instead of a publisher. There is no such thing as an open platform except for Stallman's laptop. You don't own any of your hardware. Ownership hasn't existed anywhere in the world in decades with the advent of eula agreements and courts shamelessly defending them. This sort of bullshit was inevitable because you can't actually stop intel/nvidia/amd from doing this shit. They own your computer. All you can do is choose not to play the games.

I have a 920. I guess that's not good enough? I gave up caring about hardware 7 years ago.

okay lets push it back a bit then why dont we?
