Because this hobby has a range of media to consume spanning across years and years of people's work. There is some gold hidden amongst the dirt, you just need to be willing to look for it.

The short answer is that nothing else holds my interest. Even when I'm not having fun I can still tolerate playing a game. I can't say the same for other things I've tried. I lost interest completely.
