BASED KIMISHIMA
user that is clearly 30fps. The video is 60fps, but the footage of the game is very clearly at most 30. Are you blind?
>game has the standard framerate
INSANEEEEE
So Wii U owners got screwed again?
>video is encoded at 60fps therefore the game runs at it
Watch the video frame by frame. For every two frames there is one unique frame of gameplay. It's 30fps you retard. Nintendofags are fucking idiots.
>standard framerate
but sony said the standard frame rate is 24fps
You're lucky to get a console game running at 30fps these days
So it's better than the Pro?
...
This looks 30 fps to me.
But it's expected from a "cross platform game" from nintendo.
The video is 60fps. The game is not. Every second frame is interpolated - so they were likely playing it on a display that interpolates frames, the broadcast did it, or the uploader did it to shitpost and spread false info.
But he's right.
>720p 30fps is better than 1080p 60fps/1800p 30fps
No, he isn't right.
>interpolated 60FPS
I can do it too.

I don't understand how people can be retarded enough to expect a portable $250 console to get 60 fps on a game that the Wii U struggles to run
>1080p 60fps/1800p 30fps
Don't kid yourself, Sonygger. The Pro is nowhere near that. Stop shilling your wasted 400$
>it's 60fps
>no its not
>well neither is this console
Whoop dee fucking doo. Looks like Nintendo can be king of shit mountain this generation.
>3:30 pm
>3:35 pm
pretty much this, if the Wii U can't keep up at 60 there's no way in hell a fucking handheld """"""console"""""" can run at 60
remember when people thought that the 3DS was on par with PS3 before it released
a $250 computer would be able to do it at 60fps
>standard
a walking sim with 2 characters on screen in closed environment couldn't reach it this very week.
>solid 60fps on all games.
sony blown the fuck out.
No it wouldn't
...
the same people who say the Switch is going to have performance on par with PS4/Xbone.
>watching a recordinging to count frames
never do that if you don't want to be called out a toddler. fuck off, retard.
It means nothing when they're playing at 720p. Anything can do 60fps at 720p these days.
...
>tfw they made the Wii U version shit on purpose to sell people on the Switch
Yeah buts its running in 4k so thats excusable for high resolutions
t. never owned a PC
dont know why people are shitting on switch
its actually the successor of 3ds, but with home dock option.
its not a home console that can go portable, but the other way around, if it has a portable device price, pretty much killed xbone and sonygger.
You're not very good at Monster Hunter
We really are lucky that Iwata died aren't we?
>people are willing to sacrifice framerates for meme resolutions
Absolute cancer
Except they are trying to sell it as a home console that can go portable.
I doubt that the switch with its tablet hardware can pump 720p at constant 60 fps tbqh.
>implying Iwata isn't the guy who send nintendo to this situation in the first place
they bargained their souls away for the Wii.
or, the wii U version its actually making the Wii U suffer by putting it at its limits.
Wii U has shit hardware, Sup Forums said it from the start, you could read it on all sony threads.
Worst case: nintendo tries to lock it to same level of detail and frame rate of the WiiU, so the WiiU users don't get shafted (they will fail to replicate it completely because parts where the WiiU lag won't be existent on this build).
Most probable case: game still locked at 30 fps to stop physics fuck ups but run it at 1080p and the frame rate never ever, EVER drops due all the extra headroom, also maybe better draw distance (this is something that you guys should analise from this video, if the pop in is better than on the WiiU builds).
The Wii U is practically 10-year old hardware.
It's a WiiU game.
720p/60 fps and even 1080p/60fps is quite easy for a fucking tegra chip using WiiU level of details.
It's when trying to run uncharted level of details that it will choke.
Zelda has typically been a lower frame rate series, at least going back to the N64. I don't expect that to change.
the Wii U is weaker than the 360, an 11 year old console
Modern mobile devices blow PS360 out of the water
30fps is still standard though
>run uncharted level of details that it will choke.
>uncharted
>details
>uncharted
more like, i sharted
>Modern mobile devices blow PS360 out of the water
Isn't the PowerVRGT7900 a little more than twice as powerful as an Xbox360 GPU? That's what Imagination claims, anyway. Are the offerings from Nvidia or Qualcomm really much beyond that? It's not really in the neighborhood of current consoles.
I'm pretty sure the Wii U is also stronger than the 360, at least its GPU is.
>im an idiot and think a demo unit isnt using high end hardware
remember at e3 how xbox used PC hardware to demo stuff?
why are you stupid?
Nice memes.
>game looks like ass
>"WOW IT RUNS 60 FRAMES"
Well, no shit, Watson.
>all these morons who think it being a handheld makes it weaker than the wii u
my fucking phone is more powerful than the wii u
Does it seem like there is actual anti-aliasing?
Same game on pro would run at 60 you fuckwits
>thinking you can measure fps like this
literally lmaoing AT NINTENDORKS
That would be impressive if the area they showed wasn't totally barren nothingness.
The picture is too blurry to determine any sort of anti aliasing.
You can, and its how we determined the game is running at 30 fps.
>going into a sony thread
Good
>its actually the successor of 3ds
it's the successor to both 3Ds and Wii U
Even if this were true, a computer wouldnt fit inside a handheld.
and yet it can
Do Nintendrones actually think this game will run at 60fps or are they all being ironic as fuck.
Do tripfaggots actually think anyone gives a shit about their opinions or are they all being ironic as fuck.
the standard for PC you mean
Do you even understand what is meant by 16nm Finfet process node, running on Nvidia's PASCAL architecture, using NVIDIA's custom modern gaming APUs found NVIDIA's GTX960+ GPUs, with ARM cortex CPU
>consolefags have spent their entire life playing games at 24fps so they think 30fps is 60fps
Hahaha, fuccking rekt
The rumor is that the Switch is running on a Nvidia Tegra chip. Which when running on an outdated shield handheld already ran basically at parity with an xbox 360. The shield handheld was also notably weaker in other hardware areas anyway.
Just look up benchmarks if you care enough, but people acting like the switch has to be less powerful than a wii U (which is basically 3 gamecubes strapped together anyway) just because the wii u is physically larger, are delusional idiots.
Also I don't know the specifics of wii u gpu vs 360, but in several multiplats like Bayonetta 1, 360 runs smoother, albeit only barely so.
Technology advanced quite a bit since the WiiU.
The WiiU chips use 45nm manufacturing technology, while the tegra X1 (worst case for the Switch) use 20nm.
This means the tegra X1 can have at least 10 times more transistors than the WiiU parts while consuming the same power and emiting the same heat.
And if they switch to 14nm? 16 times more transistors.
A chip with the power of the WiiU but with better manufacturing processes probably would last 10+ hours off a modern battery.
And i'm not even factoring in the architecture improvements in general, where Nvidia spent the last 3 generations improving the power consumption of their parts massively, which would allow you to get away with an even bigger chip.
But no, this game won't run at 60 fps because nintendo programmed it at 30 and its full of physics that are coded around the 30 fps, and well, its a 3D zelda title, and those are traditionally low frame rate cinematic experiences.
Well. The Switch probably wouldn't even be a thing if it wasn't for Iwata. Barring the quality of life side projects, the Switch is pretty much the personification of what Iwata wanted to move towards post the Wii era.
On that front it doesn't look like much have changed yet, post his death.
>60 fps
Aonuma talked about how Zelda was one of those nintendo IP's that would stay at 30 fps. I'd link the article if I wasn't on mobile.
>dont know why people are shitting on switch
sonyggers are mad because nintendo won the console war
everyone else is praising the switch
Shield doesn't use P1
That's a double-meta joke.
>what even is linear time?
That's clearly 30.
the video is 30, how in possible fuck can that tell you if the game is 60 or 30.
All we know is that we saw no dips in either mode.
if you're not able to tell the difference between 30 and 60 at a glance don't even bother talking about it OP
That clip was 30fps (with no drops) as far as I can tell
Yeah right. Iwata was there for the very underpowered wii,ds,3ds,wii u. Then on the 5th try, somehow Iwata decides to make a console that can (semi) complete. Kimishina had enough time to change shit up. Iwata gets no credit other than getting the process started.
What did we ever do to you
>720p(probably tn)
>Nvidia tegra
>running damage control when he didn't even watch the video
The video is 60, Zelda is running at 30. And I'm not sure but the framerate did look like it dipped when he was attacking the enemies in portable mode.
if you actually think the switch could compete with a regular ps4 when it comes to power, then you need a fucking reality check
So can we finally admit the Wii U fucking sucked?
The Switch is underpowered too. So I am not really following you.
On all 3D zelda games, there is a quarter second pause when you hit enemies to enhance the hit effect.
>Ps4 pro is 1080p 60fps/1800p 30fps
Nice try sonnygogger
Why do you faggots give so much on fps?
why do you care so much about resolution?
Not for consoles sadly.
Where did i say that?
>But no, this game won't run at 60 fps because nintendo programmed it at 30 and its full of physics that are coded around the 30 fps
I assume you've seen the BOTW source code at Nintendo HQ?
>The Switch probably wouldn't even be a thing if it wasn't for Iwata
If you had read any of his 2014 NX interviews he clearly said he was aiming to make an iOS like platform where you had multiple pieces of hardware with the same OS and games. ie. a separate handheld and console, the complete opposite of the hybrid Switch ended up being
>What we mean by integrating platforms is not integrating handhelds devices and home consoles to make only one machine.
The NX only exists because he passed away.
Nintendo don't exactly choose hardware by power, but by the best bargain, and they do it since the NES.
On NES/SNES, the bargain was to find a chip manufacturing company that was at the verge of bankrupcy and well, making a proposal they could not refuse that included 5 million custom chips and a loyalty contract.
N64 they got the CPU for cheap because the MIPS CPU could be manufactured by anyone (including the cheapass at the time NEC), and the coprocessor/Video/audio chip was designed from the groud up to deliver the highest performance by the lowest price, including taking several shortcuts that made hard to program to it.
Gamecube they found this ART-X company that could not strike a deal to manufacture their powerful chip with anyone, and then nintendo "luck" ran out, with the Wii being basically the same shit but running at a better clock, and WiiU using a bargain bin radeon part.
But the luck came back with the Nvidia Tegra chips.
The thing is, all mobile devices use an horrid video API named Open GL ES2.0.
This API is not even fully DirectX9 compliant, having absolutely essential things like floating point textures and vertex texture fetch not available or """"optional"""".
This makes most mobile chips be optimized from the ground up to the ES2.0 and use all its guts to push that shitty graphics the fast they can.
Nvidia instead tried a different approach by basically getting the desktop GPU shaders etc etc etc and optimizing the fuck out of it until the power envelope was good enough for mobile, but this approach is a bit retarded because the mobiles will NOT use its full grunt due still being tied to the Open GL ES2.0 crap. But to solve that Nvidia tried the approach of creating the "nvidia tegra only android games", and this approach worked as well as the Zeebo pretty much.
The TL'DR is that the Tegra is a failure, a very expensive failure, which means nintendo can buy it for very fucking cheap.
No i didn't.
But i have a very good amount of "battle scars" from dealing with physics and changing frame rate.
Shit gets particularly horrible when you have springlike physics, like the shit you use for joints.
Not him but this isn't a game from the PS2 era. The animations are not tied to the framerate. The engine is physics based which is why when you see Wii U footage, if there is something like an explosion on screen you see the framerate drop and skip frames, not slow down the game. Educate yourself before talking out of your ass.
>PS2-tier textures
