I think she's a terrible addition to the roster and doesn't fit the SF universe at all, but shit, that universe can only get less streety over the times.

Honestly they did a good job over the years with the newcomers staying consistent with the martial arts fantasy.
Only 3s shat the bed with shit like Necro and Twelve, but even there most were good fits.

Its evident that they base most designs on SF2 stuff and follow the old design philosophies.
Many national and martial arts stereotypes, heavy usage of shapes for the character silhouettes.
Shit just works and you can keep on making characters with that.

But whats important is that its cohesive. Putting in stupid space waifus or aliens would be fucking dumb.

This game is so slow compared to others that her tatsu game will either be piss easy or not there at all. I went to a local a few months back without ever playing it. Out of 23 people I tied 5th using Chun. I liked her there but I didn't feel I'd want to only use her for the entire long haul. Having at least one other there would help me decide to go ahead and finally pick it up.

The only way she'll be bad is if they give her a shitty moveset. The whole point of Street Fighter is that they all come from different places and have their own signature attacks/styles. Ingrid being a waifu doesn't make her any less SF, SF has always had a ridiculous cast of not-street guys.

I'm messing around with Ibuki but I just played a couple of sets with a friend in 4 and she has so many more options that I actually didn't know what to do after not playing so long. I really fucking miss tsumuji in 5.

Have you actually seen her during gameplay? She doesn't really stand out that much, in terms of design and moveset. She's just projectiles and flash kicks and spinny shit.

First of all, cute is subjective. When one of my cousins saw Sakura in SF4 she said she looked ugly. And even if Ingrid is cute so what? Why does that make her bad, all the characters are pandering. Ryu, Guile, etc. are handsome and buff. Chun-Li, Cammy, etc. are strong and sexy. Sakura can be cute, but doesn't make her any less of a SF character. Looking a certain way doesn't make a character bad.

And the complaints of "OH I DONT LIKE HER LORE!" is stupid considering SF got a stretchy guy that can float and breathe fire while wearing skulls of dead children, green monster guy that does electric spindashes, almost everyone shooting energy balls out their hands, detective robot q, alien that can transform to anyone, main villain that can use psycho energy and always has the most laughably ridiculous plans to be evil, etc. Street Fighter has never been serious. Just because some people may find Ingrid cute, doesn't mean she's bad.

Again, you're making claims but not really backing it up with anything. Her design is great. Rose and Karin wearing dresses didn't make their movesets bad in any way. They were still great characters.

Confirmed for not playing the game she's in. She's almost as big as Bison and also her design is one of the least pandering and least sexual in the entire series.

If anything, Sakura is more cutesy, and is literally wearing a schoolgirl outfit with panty shots.

We're going to get 12 characters in this "season", so Ingrid (as well as other meme characters like Q) might well be one of them.
