I just finished Rise of the Tomb Raider and I really enjoyed it. I took my time and stopped playing whenever I felt tired, I didn't rush anything. I don't want to stop playing games now.

What other "new" games do you guys recommend?

Kill yourself.

rude

You too.

Thanks, fellow anonymous poster! I'll be sure to pick up a copy of Rise of the Tomb Raiderâ„¢ at my local video game emporium posthaste!

Uncharted collection.

Come on, user. I just want to play other games.

No PS4.

Inside

Wtf, I love Square Enix Presents: The Rising of the Tomb Raider - Available Now for Xbox One, Games with Windows, and PlayStation 4's 20th Anniversary Collection-!!!

I liked it too, bought it on the sale.
I see why people who like the old TR for the puzzles alone would prefer the old ones though. I prefer the reboot. I'm even collecting all the stuff because there is a story to everything and Lara comments on all Relics. So it's not just "Item 50 of 500 found"

Also bought Darkest Dungeon and enjoy it in a weird way but it's something else entirely.
I didn't get or care for many new games in 2016.

>What other "new" games do you guys recommend?

Litteraly anything. If you liked Rise then you'll probably like 90% of modern AAA games. Go try watch dogs 2.

Nice blog dude. You want a fuckign cookie or a special discussion about how unique you are for not beating a videogame in one day?

>The artificial salt Sup Forums spills over this
This is how I spot good games.

MD and Dishonored 2

Also blood and wine for tw3 annd the following for dying light.

optional banner saga 2.

The only worthwhile games this year.

I want to face fuck nu-Lara.

Imagine filling her sweaty cunt with your seminal juices and knocking her up.

Darksiders remaster

Tomb Raider 2013 seems a logical choice. Doom 4. The new Wolfenstein games.

I (was) enjoying it, too. Thought I stopped a while ago-- can't even remember how far I got. I just don't like it when there's so much collectable stuff scattered seemingly randomly about the place. Doesn't really feel like I'm "exploring" an interesting enviroment, instead just holding a button and looking for the glow-y thing. That, and the story kinda sucks. Have no real reason to go back and continue the story.

I think I remember getting to one of the next big village area, covered in trees (located now to mountain/lake)-- how far into the game is that?

I'm sure that it's not even that far into the game, but I'm just so compulsive over making sure I pick up every scrap that I spend so much time in each area doing making minimal progress, think I just got burned out. Might revisit it though, enjoyed the environments + exploring, and Lara too.

The new Tomb Raider games are pretty good man

PS kill yourself you fucking worthless faggot

tr2013 sure, but doom and wolfenstein lack in side stories department and art direction compared to rotr

In that case there's only Uncharted.

Thas has been true for me since I can remember, not just Sup Forums though, Sup Forums too.

Little over halfway iirc

uncharted is even flatter than doom, it's amazing how they manage to create stories that boring
even doom has more lore to it

MD was pretty good, if less well written than HR.

I think this sort of thing is an increasing issue. Games are more and more graphically diverse, but less and less interactive. HR and MD build massive worlds, but then need to put a yellow border on shit just so you can filter out the rest of these detailed models and textures, which are in effect just "noise".

DOOM and Arkham Knight (now that it has been patched). Mad Max was super meh and would not even recommend desu.

haha

>Mad Max was super meh
it had this gloom atmosphere and cars though, I liked it

SSS is so nice

That's what I tried to avoid. These kind of games really burn me out. Anything similar to "open world" stresses me out. I want to collect everything and it starts becoming tiresome. I managed to get my shit together with this game though.

Sure I like cars too. I even liked Arkham Knight's driving. But in Mad Max you just drive in desert pretty much so... yea.

I never stopped playing Dragons Dogma, just play that. It looks and plays great on pc.

Man I despise games with batvision.

>beautiful stunning environments
>spend 24/7 in x-ray mode

>No PS4.
Then it's time to get one, because PlayStation is the primary platform for Tomb-Raider-style games.
Obviously, because they invented the genre.

I enjoyed ROTTR's gameplay but I didn't care for the characters or story. I wouldn't be surprised if I forget them completely.

Anyway, try another 3rd person action game after this.

so, don't activate it, I don't
heck I even managed to finish tw3 without using batvision except for smells

o_O

>The artificial salt Sup Forums spills over this
>This is how I spot good games.
Exactly. If underage nintentoddlers viciously hate a game, I'm going to like it.

The AAA market has shit the bed this christmas season. It's rather barren on the RPG and action-adventure front. Perfect time to get some of those shooters you didn't play over the last year or so. Got myself Killing Floor 2 and it's a lot of fun but with 20 hours in i feel like i've had my fill.

>playing ROTTR
>doesn't seem like that much has changed since last time around
>keep going since it'll probably pick up somewhere down the toad
>game suddenly teleports to Syria
>look in the distance
>explosions in the towns

FUCKING DROPPED
YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE CUNTS!
I PLAY VIDYA TO ESCAPE THE MISERY OF LIFE, NOT TO EXPERIENCE IT ANOTHER MEDIUM!

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YOU!

But what if I miss something user? How can I live with that?

...

It's truly suffering. I hate whoever invented the batvision, it ruined my gaming experience.

You still have to use the batvision to highlight things before the game will let you interact with them.

The Syria part is really short.
Also, if I could bare it, so can you. Half of Syria lives next to me now.

I still don't get why she had to make such faces, weird line delivery. I also noticed in the witch DLC that they didn't do facial capture for her cutscenes and it really shows.

Most of the mocap is top tier in the game though. Better than MGSV even though V was praised for its so-called super mocap

it was ok.

worse than the 1st one though.

thank god i only paid 35 bucks for the eidtion with all the dlc.

>pirate ROTTR
>finish it
>no desire to go back to explore unexplored tombs and secrets and collect more items/artifacts because the main story is over and the setting and theme isn't interesting enough to bother
>absolutely zero replay value
>thankful I pirated it and didnt buy it

I liked the game and I don't really give a shit about Sup Forums's opinion but why didn't Jacob just destroy the Source?

No, I refuse to stand for contemporary Sup Forums in my fucking vidya!

You literally have the entirety of human fiction at your disposal as literary inspiration and you choose to be SJW cunts

Fuck you, fuck your series, fuck your games, fuck your sutdio and fuck your developers!

You can fuck right off and when you get there, fuck off some more

GOD FUCKING DAMMIT

Is this all we have to look forward to now?

Imagine spraying your goo all over her face while she does this. Nu-Lara is literally made to be sexually degraded.

Yes, I was honestly impressed. I haven't played new games in a long time so during the first hours I was playing around with nu Lara and her beauty.

>worse than the 1st one though.
No, it was not. This is complete bullshit.

Wow, that's really bad implementation and actually punishes observant players. All TR's does is highlight shit, you can always interact with something if it's flagged as such.

Because PLOT, the ending was pretty stupid. What happened to Sofia? Like did she even say goodbye to her father? Did she even know anything?

The Batman Arkham games are accessible, and really good.

Far Cry 3 and 4.

The Assassins Creed series.

Shadow of Mordor.

Binary Domain.

These are all modern, easy games to get into, and mostly worth playing through.

those aren't explosions, it's some kind of fireworks obviously
they are celebrating something there

also why the fuck do you care about syria? it's been going on for 4 years now.

Yes, you literally have a last talk to sophia when you load the game after its over

Oh, I didn't load the game.

> But in Mad Max you just drive in desert pretty much so... yea.
well
is mad max

yea, but you can follow trails without it and highlight things only when you found them

>inserting political commentary into your work ok fiction is SJW shit

I guess you don't know shit about "the entirety of human fiction", cock gobbler.

A non-mediocre game would be a good start.

>and the setting and theme isn't interesting enough
how can you be this pleb?

I've never felt comfier in an FPS than when playing Far Cry 3

Because its so badly handled I cant suspend my disbelief.

We're just supposed to believe that an entire civilization has thrived in the deep Russian wilderness all on their own undiscovered for centuries.

Its like the devs read the story of the one uncontacted Russian family living in Siberia who never heard of WWII and were living like it was the 1500's and decided to apply it to an entire civilization but it was so badly handled and poorly designed they needed a deus ex machina to keep it all together.

Honestly the whole religious aspect should anger Christians if they were as prone to anger and outburst as muslims are.

youtube.com/watch?v=48RCln26Rtk

do you have any idea how old this myth is?

Can someone tell me the reason why they changed Lara's face from Tomb Raider (Definitive Edition) to Rise of the Tomb Raider. She looks kinda mannish now.

They face scanned the voice actor. Definite Edition Lara is way more mannish than in Rise.

>Definite Edition Lara is way more mannish than in Rise.

You must be joking.

This is Definition Edition Lara.
youtu.be/7NUX2rG_u8w?t=125

Picture is Rise Lara.

Rise Lara is damn mannish.

Definite Edition Lara looks angry all the time. I feel like the best one is the first Lara in the 2013 reboot. Rise looks amazing too, but there's something off in my opinion. Rise looks much better than Definite though.

I wonder if in TR3 she'll receive another make over.

In the video linked DE Lara was not even angry.

Rise Lara is off. In a big way. They really changed how she looked. Pretty sure they didn't want her pretty looking because she's an "adventurer".

The amount of hate and people automatically assuming shilling in this thread and every other thread makes me wonder what I'm even wasting my life away on this board for

I don't know, I simply don't like Definitive Edition Lara. Rise Lara is pretty, she's still pretty and she'll always be. I think what's weird about her is that her face is too wide.

It's the cheek lines. They make her cheeks look unnecessarily puffy and wide.

>not just playing through the story normally and going back for 100% after the main story is finished

I enjoy games, but this was the probably the worst AAA game this year by far, and I'm sure Sup Forums loves it because it caters to their fetishes

>Plot is something you would see out of a B-movie, find the holy grail and defeat the baddies
>Characters are one-dimensional and you would forget them in an hour
>Every single fucking parkour part is scripted, while looking beautiful; it gets old fast, and becomes tiresome as you know somehow Lara despite being an experienced explorer constantly fucks up
>Game is practically a shooting gallery with the only weapon actually being good is the bow, there's nothing unique that sperates it from other games
>Puzzles being the most important part of the game is constant hand-holding with Lara Croft dropping hints every other minute

I don't know man, I enjoyed the first part but I kinda lost interest, but I always do that with these pseudo open world games. I always end up doing all sorts of crap that has barely any meaning and lose interest.

Same, user. We got to be strong.

>the only weapon actually being good is the bow
Don't know why people say this about Rise and the other one. I found myself using the assault rifle way more in combat because at least that's automatic. Shotgun was always pretty good for guys who get up in your face too.

>We're just supposed to believe that an entire civilization has thrived in the deep Russian wilderness all on their own undiscovered for centuries.
It's happened before dumb ass. The earth is a big place. Why is this bad? Do you like Uncharted? It does similar shit.

>worse AAA game this year by far (2015)
>Fallout 4
>MSG V
>Battlefront
>COD
>Assassin's Creed Syndicate
>Halo 5
Yeah okay.

Yeah, RoTR wasn't the worst AAA game of 2015, but it's not a great game.

MGSV and ROTR both have shit plots but at least MGSV had the gameplay to back it up.

ROTR does too, it was pretty fun imo.

Agreed. I liked it, I consider it a good game. In my tastes, it's a great game because I enjoy great graphics and cinematics and dat ass. I put it on the same level as Uncharted 2&3 and slightly above 4 in that department.

Yep, B movie plot and one-dimensional characters is the perfect way to describe it

Im so glad I pirated it, it feels like I pirated a generic summer blockbuster, full of action and intensity but nothing deep or complex, not worth a second rewatch/replay, a typical AAA pump and dump.
