So, this girl on twitter leaked that the switch overclocks when docked, and she leaked a bunch of stuff that turned out to be true, and it's a pretty solid idea, so i believe her. Will that make things better? how much difference can we expect from docked to undocked? maybe 1080 when docked, 720 when tablet mode? discuss

It's more likely that it boosts the fps and not the resolution. They advertised a seamless transition from dock to portable, but reloading higer models and textures seems too heavy.

I dunno why people are so cold on that rumour, that's how every laptop work already, and they Nvidia design the whole thing.

Leaks -- assuming they are leaks and not just juicy sounding RUMORS -- are still a legal kettle of fish to deal with on ANY industry representatives part. On one hand, it can help and drum up hype. On the other, it violates Non-Disclosure Agreements and doing that unfortunately DOES mean whichever party was trusted with that information will be seen as a liability.

The attitude she's taking is pretty childish because she's acting like she's the victim for leaking shit and now that Nintendo or anyone close to the Switch has to cut her off, she's just being more of a loudmouth until they let her back in.

You can not be an industry insider and a gossip, shit just doesn't work that way.

The system just uses the full capabilities of it's hardware when docked because it will have a constant, external power source. It isn't really overclocking, it is just when it isn't docked there is no point in having the system run games at 1080 since the screen is only 720, so it uses less power, and it doesn't need as much cooling.

I really doubt they expect to be "let back in". Nothing she leaked comes from official sources anyway. She only seems to leak things that she learns from unofficial channels, but she has some process to verify things which seems to be working out somewhat well.

Resolution is not just clock rate of a certain processing unit (ram, cpu, gpu, whatever), but also a bandwidth and memory capacity. Or in easier terms: more connection speed+more memory storage=more pixels. How plugging in additional (let's imagine) 100w of UPD cable solves this is beyond me.
