Just got Pikmin 3 but never played the original

Just got Pikmin 3 but never played the original.

They all cost about the same so which version should I get Sup Forums original on Gamecube or New Play Control on Wii? Which is better and why?

Everyone is in agreement that the Wii port is superior because of the remote + nunchuk controls, you can even download it on the Wii U eshop, but if you prefer to use a standard controller then the gcn version is what you want.

Depends on what control scheme you liked using in Pikmin 3. If you liked using wiimote, new play control edition. If you liked using gameplay or a pro controller, gamecube version is probably more up your alley. In terms of quality, the wii port and gc version are the same but wii version has some minor additions like being able to throw backwards and since you're using the wiimote, you can throw slightly further as well iirc.

Either one works. I found the c-stick controls as very useful for the original GameCube version, but I've heard that the Wii version did remarkably well with it's motion controls and pointing at the screen. On a plus side, the Wii version is playable on Wii U.

why would you pay for gamecube or wii games?

Gamecube games are superior because of that C-Stick which lets you swarm your Pikmin all at once over an enemy, wall, item, etc

Wii Mote and Nunchuk controls are superior ONLY superior in Pikmin 3 because of that Charge mechanic it has.

NPC Wiimote & Nunchuk for the first 2 games are shit.
