What are your pet peeves of bad sound/music design in vidya?

>realized i haven't dranken any water today
>drinking water
>advanced species
>people STILL decide to drink the same shit as neaderthals and animals
Tip top kek.
Soda for me.
i laughed
>Implying fighting giant rats with a sword and shield wouldn't be the highlight of your year
>a fly attacks your party
>normal music plays
>it wipes you out completely
Breath of Fire 1 did this, if you walked in a certain spot, the zones overlapped from a near start of game zone to an endgame zone, and some flies could fucking wreck you (or you could use them to powerlevel if you didn't get wrecked)
>defeat a hard enemy
>Get legendary gem sword of the Holy dragon of the high heavens.
>It's weaker than a regular iron sword
At a starting point characters are very weak and rat is a major threat.
Any public domain sound effects fucking kill me inside.
>That door/gate creaking sound
>That pot smashing sound
>All of those animal sounds (dolphin, rat, etc)
>Fucking Wilhelm scream
One of the worst examples of this is Silent Hill 4. So many enemies have ridiculous public domain sounds used for the enemies who are supposed to be scary. Jaguar sounds for the dogs, a burping sound every time one of the things in the hospital are hit, it's awful. It completely removes all fear when every time you hit and enemy they make the same, public domain sound effect.
>meet giant dragon
>one of the hardest enemy
>activate quivering palm on my monk and attack him
>dies in 1 hit
Never felt feelings so good
Mommy won't be riding the wheelchair for you today
>High Heavens
Im just now questioning this, but what separates the regular heavens from the high heavens?
Ranks.
>Music is louder than voices and the game has no settings to change that
>Enemies/player has single sound effect when attacked that plays on every attack
>Game that has tons of battles but only one battle song (fucking Persona 4, thank god Golden changed that)
>Guns sound like shit and have no audio impact
>Any puzzles or hidden items based around listening for audio changes/signals but the audio is always too quiet
>rat attacks your party
>rat music starts playing
Their height.
>Fight rats
>They have incredibly high damage resistance so they take forever to die
>They deal non-lethal damage to you so you can't die but keep getting knocked out
Fuck Legacy of Bhaal
youtube.com
>*scree!*
I agree with your point on SH4, though the first time I felt like the audio doesn't hit the mark was with those burping things. It gave an impression of a shoe string budget game.
Isn't this mode meant to be like a new game+ with a fully geared and leveled team?
WHERE THE FUCK IS IT
THIS MUSIC IS LOUD
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>music dynamically changes on the fly depending on the situation
>play a racing game
>yeah, that sound of crowds is a bit much
>enter sound options
>only two bars for sfx and music
>music starts from the beginning every time you enter a fight
This is the worst, especially when the battle theme is long or slow. Is it too much to ask for the battle music to pick up from where it last left off? I hate listening to the first 5 seconds of the song over and over again because the fight ends too quickly.
>game's theme song starts playing if you take long enough on the final boss
>dranken
dont know why i laughed
> fight a car
> hippie music starts playing
>music gets even more intense when a tough enemy appears
>Implying rats aren't the deadliest creatures to ever exist
>that sad moment in Twilight Princess with the good music
>each ptime you pass an enemy that annoying music starts playing
>Rats has high speed but little defence
>One good hit will kill it
>Your attacks keep missing
>Their attacks have been chipping your hp into the danger zone
>that same dolphin sound that has been used since (and probably before) Flipper in the 1960s
You know exactly the one.
