Should I buy Overwatch Sup Forums? Or is the game trash?
Should I buy Overwatch Sup Forums? Or is the game trash?
it's trash
get it if the actual game, not the special edition, goes on sale AND you don't mind it being 6's at best, short matches, low skill cap with almost all fun movement being cooldown based
do not buy at full price even without the BS loot boxes it simply isn't that good
idk man I've been watching some video and it seems pretty fun at higher skill tiers
Blizzard is also still working on it. What are chances of good content later on?
high but ''later on'' will likely be many years from now
its a dumbed down shooter with cooldown based movement and moba powers
if that's what you want and you think its worth it go ahead
as someone who has been playing shooters for 20+ years it just feels too simple, samey and boring and i regret buying it
thanks
It's a lot of fun but most Sup Forums will lie and say it's horrible and has long queue times.
it sux if you want something with actual skill required but i get like 3 second que times and live in the middle of nowhere
in comparison the other blizzard games i play (diablo and hots) are play with friends or dont play at all and 3 mins+ que times
If you find a character you like and you enjoy playing, you'll love it.
If not, it will be a very short but frustrating experience.
as far as skill caps and such, yes it's simpler than other arena shooters. the difference is that overwatch allows for and requires higher levels of team coordination. some characters are in fact rather useless without cooperating with other players. so obviously the twitchy-shooty players who value individual skill like the game less
I honestly enjoy both low skill and high skill shooters, it just depends on the mood.
no it dont
making it harder to solo=!= raising levels you can coordinate
tf2 absolutely stomps it in that regard with crap like overhealed sniper with razorback behind a soldier allowing you to through teamwork shut down the enemy team unless they also have a medic or sniper and do the same thing
It's shitty and in its current state not worth the money advertised.
Also ignore the faggots trying to get you to play their dead game; Team Fortress 2's only pro is that it's free.
>Team Fortress 2's only pro is that it's free
having put 700 hours into TF2 as a pure FTP, I can dispute this along several lines.
It died a long time before the F2P update, user. It's time to hang up the hat.
Over 1500 hours here
tf2 sucked since the mym update
Everything from Blizzard in the last 3 years has been trash.
omg dude I know
no
tf2 sucked when they axe nerfed demoknight turn capacity
I used to set my mouse sensitivity to 500 to reach critical charge jump speed. Later learned yawspeed bound to q and e and just hooked through the air really fast, the jumps off ramps in lowgrav maps are cash, free crits around corners, etc.
Now you need a specific item that looks retarded to do it. Talk about lowering the skillcap.
I constantly hear people say how boring it gets a short bit later and come back to games they played before OW.
tf2 was a lot better of a game in its original state. since then it's gone back on its original design philosophies. the game went to shit when they started adding more weapons
so 3 characters forming up to make a good combination that forces the other team to coordinate an adjusted strategy to deal with them stomps the cooperative play of overwatch? you know there are combos like that that exist in overwatch as well right?
for the most part in tf2, most actions you can take correlate directly to some type of damage, with some exceptions. in overwatch there's a LOT more variety in possible actions that can change the landscape of the fight in many ways. almost every character has some kind of added utility. this gives more variation to what you can experience in the game, while still being able to know what to expect from every character. this also adds to the levels of cooperation between characters that's available
no im right ur wrong
rekt
Aside from taking a bit longer to kill enemies, it's nearly everything vanilla-TF2 is but with almost triple the cast and variety of abilities you can unleash. It's solid fun when played right.
>so 3 characters forming up to make a good combination that forces the other team to coordinate an adjusted strategy to deal with them stomps the cooperative play of overwatch?
yes
three people using their classes and loadouts to their absolute best, working together even before they play as the specifically equip certain items just to cover each others weaknesses, stomps the fuck out out of ''ey yo imma heal da tank and then she can press q to stun them all then pharah can press q to kill them all''
also because in tf2 your core character, medic, cannot simply die and come back and press ult. your team as a whole has to keep him safe or at the higher levels you absolutely will lose.
Buy the fallout 4 season pass instead, the DLC are amazing!
Unless you want to spend a month trying to fit in on a private server and suck a mods dick on a daily basis in TF2, Overwatch is the only reasonable option if you want a game like this.
>equip certain items just to cover each others weaknesses
so they require more coordination in preparation, but in-game are still back to moving and pointing and shooting and maybe keeping an idea of where their teammates are. the in-game options are still less varied. and even the non-moving, non-shooty options available don't have as much cooperative use.
there's so much more to overwatch than ults, which many of them are easily avoidable or negatable if you know what you're doing and strategizing well.
and a few counter-points to that last point
>mercy ult is not always available
>mercy isn't always picked as a healer
>rarely will she ress more than 2/3 people
>the people she resses have a chance to just get stomped again
>you have to be close for the ress. it's easy to kill a mercy zooming in to ress her team, and even if she gets them ressed, she'll probably die shortly after, leaving the team without a healer again, and they will simply be stomped once more
basically, mercy ress is not the win-button you think it is. in fact, her ult is less useful in most situations than ana, lucio or zen's ults.
>mercy ress is not the win-button you think it is
it's best as a win more button
buy it
Don't listen to these jaded faggers, the game's fun as fuck, I average around 1-rarely 2 minute load times, and there's gonna be at least a few heros out of the pool that you'll enjoy.
It's nowhere near as fun, nor skill-based as vanilla TF2 was tho.
rocket jumps don't exist now?
boston basher uber building doesn't exist now?
overheal doesn't exist now?
whipping a heavy to make it go faster doesn't exist now?
have you even played tft? it has plenty of options for working together that don't just equate to ''hurr durr shoot the bad ppl''. more than OW.
who the fuck was talking about mercy? lucio does everything she does better
>open beta
>free weekend
by now you should have already formed your own opinion on the game.
it's trash
Just play Paladins. It's free & every hero has a disengage ability. 1v1's are much more fun.
It's literally, LITERALLY, the game of the year.
>Paladins
user, c'mon. If they haven't fixed the hitboxes yet it isn't even worth considering
if you don't want to be Oblivionguy of the series
It is not trash, but it is not worth the money.
You can get same if not better experience playing TF2 which is free.
