Great games. I always enjoyed Sonic Advance 1 the most of the three though.

1 was great.
2 was hold right and occaisonally R+up/right
3 was obnoxious finding all the Chao but otherwise decent aside from the fact that like half of the combinations were useless

1-3 had great music. 2 had okay music but mostly forgettable.

Was a solid game, wish it had been longer.

Replying to my own post but I was disappointed by the bosses in all 3 of them though.

The Advance series seems to be always conveniently forgotten by vidya """experts""" when they spout their "S3&K was the last good game!" rhetoric.

I like it. That art style is a bit bland for a Sonic game, though.

3&K > 2=Advance1> CD=Advance 3 > Advance 2 > 1

But what about Sonic Genesis GBA

Really good when considering what the GBA was capable of, although still a step back compared to the Genesis games (handheld and console should not be compared). Really needs a re-release that ups the screen size to Genesis size, especially Advance 2. Advance 3's level design was fine but the hub world was boring.

Stage Design is ok.

Running is easier than SA3.

All three are great games in their own rights

It has to have a gameplay improvement/new mechanic for it to be a mainline installment.

IF THE CAMERA WOULD JUST ZOOM THE FUCK OUT, it'd be a pretty good game.

Advance 1 added Amy as well as special moves for the other three they didn't have in the Genesis games. Advance 2 added Cream and Boost Mode. Advance 3 added a hub world and the tag mechanic.

Good but really short.

The camera automatically puts all 3 Advance games below the Genesis games, the Special Stages are memorization/trial-and-error like Sonic 2, and the stories for 2 and 3 are trash.

Advance added a somersault button Sonic. I think that was the only mechanic added to him.

Mania adds the drop dash and a bunch of in-game mechanics such as blue rings.

honestly the last time 2D Sonic was good which hasn't happened since SnK. 1 and 3 were downright surprising and 2 was p.good considering the timeframe they were released

The Advance stories are literally too basic to be trash, just like the Genesis games.

The blue rings aren't new, they're from Knuckles Chaotix. Dumb namefag.

Forgot already, huh? Lemme break it down, then:

SA1: Mecha Knuckles, Robotnik doing shit
SA2: I'VE KIDNAPPED YOUR FRIENDS, SONIC...AND 2 RANDOM BUNNIES FOR NO FUCKING REASON!
SA3: EDGY NOT-EMERL AND I WILL RULE THE WORLD! ...OKAY, I'LL MAKE HIM A GIANT MECHA! ...SURPRISE, IT REBELLED JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER GAME

SA1 was properly basic. 2 and 3 were just dumb.

Somersault came with a sliding attack and backflip. Sonic could also grind and air dash. Tails and Knuckles both gained melee attacks with Knuckles being able to swim. And again, it added Amy.

Are you seriously bitching and moaning about those? CD and S3&K had a deeper story.

Shit games, nothing compared to MD trilogy. But better than any platformer on gba not named Ninja 5-0.

At summer camp everyone would bring their gba's and try to one-up each other with the games we brought. I was the hottest shit for bringing sonic battle, everyone wanted a turn.

I really should give it a replay sometime.

Still hands down the best Sonic game since 3K.

Advance 2 and 3 were still not that great. Too many "hold rights" and bottomless pits.

1 indeed dispels that myth by being a good game, but it's still not a great game like 1, 2, CD, and 3K are.
