Real NES
what if it breaks
Fix it bitch
This shit is for normies too stupid to emulate. Go original or go home.
I've used both and to be honest, the real nes world better. There just isn't anything like popping a real cartridge into a nintendo entertain system. Plus, with a real nes, you have more games to choose from.
There are tutorials online on how to fix a nes, with a nes mini, good luck kiddo.
>pretty good selection
>handful of classics padded by a bunch of games that are practically given away in cereal boxes
Oh boy, can't wait to spend 200 bucks on Galaga and Pacman.
depends how much money you have? NES retro games have a stupidly expensive bubble right now so buying a nes classic or just plain emulating is more economical.
probably cost you $600-1000 for a physical copy of every game in the set plus the nintendo.
Real NES and a flashcart.
Don't even fucking try to buy the original cartridges. They've risen in price so much over the last 5 years it's fucking insane.
Serious answer here. Get a Wii and softmod it. I have every single game released from the nes, snes, and genesis on an sd card. Then connect to a CRT with component inputs for that sweet 240p.
i'm not a mechanic
way less expensive than an NES.
To me, emulation is a sin, there are only a few exeptions.
1. The game is impossible to get otherwise, (unreleased game, game costs millions of dollars, emulating an arcade game)
2. The game is being recorded for YouTube (You dont want to spend money on converters and shit to hook up a Snes to your PC)
3. ROM Hacks (Kaizo Mario only comes in Rom form...)
Do you have a CRT?
If yes, then real NES.
If no, then consider that Classic Edition or emulation.
>way less expensive than an NES.
Fucking how? You can find a NES for $15 or so incredibly easily.
You heard emulation user above, emulation is a sin.
bought a 5$ Raspberry Pi Zero instead
They're not. That's a marketplace where other people are selling their wares through Walmart.
Amazon has these too.
There's nothing wrong with proper emulation.
is it easy to softmod a wii?
$10 for a whole box set at Johnny Cee Cards, the console, the first 3 mario games, Contra and legend of Zelda with the second controller included.
If you live in a backwater hick town maybe, but resellers have completely and utterly dominated the retro market in every major city. Anyone who doesn't know better will just trade them into the stores directly, and any consoles at garage sales will be swooped up within 10 minutes of being put out, because people have caught onto the bubble and will simply flip them on eBay.
anyone this much of a faggot deserves to be jewed out of their money
Really easy, actually. Just look it up and you got it
Just drive out an hour, you lazy faggot.
very.
To where? All around me is farmland.
how does this offend you?
NES classic. The original NES is old as fuck and even with the greatest of care it's not going to realistically last much longer. Specially the carts.
Very easy. Also recommend getting a classic controller like pic related.
>To me, emulation is a sin
The NES Classic Edition is emulation.
Mine works fine to this day.
What on earth are you talking about?
As long as the carts aren't kept in a damp place where they could corrode, they should theoretically outlive us.
Exactly.
just Contra alone sells for $30-40 all day long on ebay.
Get a NES Classic if you don't want to spend 200$~ on the 5 games you'll want
Thats like saying VHS tapes work like shit to this day.
>Buy dead NES/outer shell
>load up every rom for everything you can on a raspberry pi and wire up usb connecters to controller ports
>put pi inside NES
>Play all the old games
>????
>profit (from not spending silly money to grasping ebay scalpers)
Inb4 "but it doesn't feel right unless its on original hardware" look up pics of the NES mini's insides; its all empty apart from a motherboard with flash memory for the roms.
Johnny Cee's, sells Contra for $5
>depends how much money you have? NES retro games have a stupidly expensive bubble right now so buying a nes classic or just plain emulating is more economical.
But the NES classic is sold out literally everywhere and it resells for ridiculous markups online.
what the fuck is johnny cees?
This is the best advice in the thread OP. Actual NES hardware and games are going to be expensive as fuck, and the NES Classic is a shitty, closed down proprietary system with a limited number of games. Plus with the Wii you can emulate other systems too, on top of it also being a Wii and Gamecube. All this and used Wii's are usually cheap as fuck.
It should be a no brainer. I can't believe no one else is really recommending it.
Wisconsin
Seems to be a place in Wisconsin.
Because, you know, so many people live in Wisconsin, right?
...
Yeah, I know a lot of people here.
Johnny Cee's also has such good customer service, Im friends with one of the guys that works there.
Just buy a raspberri pi or get the real thing
The NES Mini is a meme
Pic related, top games to get if you get a real NES
>Hatchimals
Why are these a thing?
wait to see when it gets modded
>no street fighter 2010
>no batman
>no tetris
>no SMB3
>Street Fighter 2010
I kek'd
>no ghosts n goblins
>not owning, hacking, and installing all the NES games on his 3ds
I bet you're fucking scared of playing it in public you fucking autist.
why kek?
Not happening
I mean games to start off with
...
Ever fucking play it? Its terrible.
BECAUSE IT FUCKING SUCKS
hacking a 3DS seems hard. i've never pirated anything before either.
Get a Wii. Should be able to pick one up for like $60 at this point. Get a 16gb microSD. Softmod the Wii. Enjoy the ridiculous amount of NES games and other classic shit you'll be able to play.
>softmodding a homeconsole for emulator games
who seriously does that? just use your fucking computer
what is the best site for emulating games?
>who seriously does that?
People who actually like playing some Mario or whatever from the comfort of their couch?
I use mine for emulation and more, like homebrew games, PLUS, you can use the wiimote or the classic controller
Show me a computer that can play can play games up to the Wii without a graphics card and is as small as a Wii for $60.
>he doesn't already own a pc that's capable of doing that
end yourself poorfag
Yeah.
A lot of people.
its stupid to call emulation a sin
bump
>lugging my desktop PC to my living room when I can play the same games on a $60 console from 10 years ago with minimal setup and noise
end yourself retard
>he doesn't just use a wireless video streaming device
poorfag much?
Find a flaw.
You might
Also there's one for $13 with a similar library except no Zeldas
OP here. is the SNES just as jewed today as its predecessor? if so then i'll just emulate.
Get a $30 raspberry pi, a $5 HDMI cable, a $15 retrolink, put retropie on it, put free roms on it.
Boom, you now have a NES classic that costs less, doesn't make you fight scalpers to get it, and can play any games you want from basically any console.
>he doesn't have a smartphone
I would buy it just for decoration, a plus if it works too.
download emulator to your phone, connect phone to your tv, get a bluetooth controller for your phone. enjoy.
SNES cartridges are worse lol
Nope, Snes is a great console, but at Johnny Cee's, you could buy a Genesis for around $30 and get a snes to genesis converter, unfortunately for me, Im a collector, so I have both.
i don't live in wisconsin you stupid namefag
Perhaps you should make the trip and visit Johnny Cee's for all your retro gaming needs
Tell him the Cambodian Cartoon Masturbation forum sent 'ya
>Pay nintendo $$$
>get 30 games
>Make own emulator box out of cheap-ass raspberry pi
>Get every game I can get roms for (quite a lot more than 30)
>Can use to emulate other old consoles as well
>Can actually do a bunch of other shit on it since it is a functional (if slow) computer
They aren't really selling me here...
this or an original xbox if you have a different taste in games
Ah, well, there's a backwards compatable device for the Snes
snes is just as bad or worse
Whats wrong with using a name? people can identify me easier.
please lurk more before posting
thanks
