Why doesn't anyone talk about the blatantly ripped off Batman detective minigame of scanning a crimescene?

This brief scene was ridiculous in the trailer. Literally a single hallway into a single room, all linear, showing bloody footprints that you could see already without a scanning omnitool... all leading up to a Krogan, that was obviously and violently murdered. ME doesn't need a shitty detective port. It's completely unnecessary. Is the Mary Sue femshep now a master detective? Do we get a fucking DLC Sherlock Holmes detective expansion pack for $19.99 at launch?

That said, I don't see how the actual, in-game altercation will play out any better. I don't see how "Drop it...you first" needs any context. This is it. This is the game we're getting.
