It hasn't aged well, at all.
Looks and feels dated, but if you like first person fantasy your choices are pretty limited so go for it?
The Gothic series is a great choice for fantasy games.
Also, though I may get flak for this, Oblivion is also a great fantasy game. It moved away from the normal Elder Scrolls feel into a more high fantasy one. If you can ignore the potato faces and gameplay, which can be fixed with mods, then you'll have a really good time
It's no masterpiece but it's bretty gud. The first hour or so is pretty weak and the story sucks but once you reach the island and start getting stronger, it's a fun action game with better melee than most and it can be hilarious in a slapstick kind of way. Make sure you get the ice trap spell.
Kicking orcs off cliffs/10
I replay that game every year. As has been said, the graphics haven't aged great, but the gameplay is one of the best.
I love Dark Messiah.

Dark Messiah is one of those games that has meh story, meh graphics, except the gameplay is 10/10.
Pretty fun game. And its short enough that you can easily do multiple playthroughs with different combat styles and not get too bored.
Combats are way better than Skyrim
Top tier waifu.

If you enjoyed games like dishonored, then this game will feel great. The gameplay feels a bit similar to dishonored minus the powers.
You can get it for dirt cheap so yeah, well worth it. It's fun to play a game with better physics and combat than most AAA contemporary games.

The bow that shoots arrows with rope is cool as shit. Using it to set up multiple rope swings like pitfall to reach areas and set up ambushes is fun as fuck.
Gosh, I wonder why that is. I wish dishonored had a kick/guard break/interrupt. You could just ditch stealth and fight through everything.
>Gosh, I wonder why that is.
Can't tell if sarcasm, but it's the same developers.
>Want to post pictures of Xana
>None of them are work safe
Not my fault she's fucking naked in game.

I would say it looks dated for sure but it feels fine. I just replayed it the other week. Its a pretty short game though.
The best part is it feels like you actually move a character through a world, rather than a floating camera. You have weight, it shifts going left and right, throwing things at people is weighty
Damn, thank you. All I had were the gifs for ants of this scene.
Play the NWC Might and Magic games for good strategy games and RPGs. Also check out Dominions 4.
I played through this at least 4-5 times before buying Dishonored.
Though it hasn't aged well the melee combat mechanics in Dark Messiah are significantly more fleshed out, with certain slashes and timed power attacks required for the majority of enemies. That being said, Dishonored's combat looks much nicer and offers a greater variety of ways to dispatch enemies while being significantly easier.
The different weapons and class building system are interesting too. I was under the impression that this was an outdated Dishonored but its much more than that and worth a playthrough.
>Want to use best sword
>Have to ditch demon tits first to use it
Welp, guess I'm sticking with the orc sword.
Next time pick up those flamegold ingots.
Yeah, found the forge as I was going through, and looked up what it was for. I'm sure I'll be playing again, always a second chance.

Dark Messiah is in my personal top 5 of all time. I play it every year. Absolutely stellar gameplay and level and encounter design. And a godtier waifu to top it off
It's ok basically a fantasy HL2 there are some light rpg elements where you get points assigned at various points similar to system shock 2
the whole game revolves around the melee combat which is done very well even though it is simple it's just the little things like the screen wobble movement, how enemies react to getting hit etc that makes it work
Are there skill points for kicking?
Because realistically that is all I am going to do.
>Dark Messiah is in my personal top 5
My nigga. The gameplay is god-tier, and level design too, I was hooked from beginning to end.
Did you play Arx Fatalis? It's like its predecessor, but be wary that it's archaic and can be hard to get into (and it's definitely a harder and more complex game), but it's worth it.
Don't understand why people love this game so much desu, I played through it years ago and while it isn't by any means a bad experience it's not really one that's worth going through more than once in my opinion, not really not enough variety in the game. By the end I was pretty bored with it.
Kicking is on Triple-plus-elder-god-S-level at the start of the game already.
Doesn't have nor requires any more upgrades.
you can kick the whole time but throwing props with telekinesis is the most effecient way of killing things especially using the small rocks which will kill any enemy in a single hit
>not really not enough variety in the game
It sort of gives you a whole bunch of tools, then just leaves you alone.
If you don't make your own fun with that, I can totally see you getting bored.
I have to get this game now.
MAEK GUY SLIP ON ICE LOL gets boring after the 5th time dude. Gimmicks only get a game so far.
>Is it good, Sup Forums?
Yes.
>Also, what are some good fantasy games?
3-8 of the mainline Might and Magic series is pretty good.
Yes Dark Messiah is very good.
It has a great Thief vibe, especially in the underground tombs area.
The story and setting is one of the most generic possible, but they make it work by limiting the scope of your view in the world, you're just a sightseer there.
Good fantasy, obviously TW1, 2 and 3. Skyrim.
Shit, haven't replayed it in years. Now that I think of it, I don't replay games nearly as much as I used to.
>Good fantasy, obviously TW1, 2 and 3. Skyrim
get it my dude.
bought it retail for 50, have never regretted the purchase. now that its sitting at 10 dollars, its an absolute steal.
yes it's great. don't listen to this faggot, the game still controls and plays fine.
4.99 on steam right now
>Is it good, Sup Forums?
Hell yes.
Other fantasy games:
Warcraft 3, Overlord, Witcher, Baldurs Gate, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
did you even try to mess around with different builds and stuff or did you just watch one of the videos that gets posted a lot and then come to shitpost?
Yeah its good. Fast as fuck as well.
One of my favourite games ever
I play it once through every november
>replay it every year
My niggas.
It's a comfy little tradition
