I use Shadowplay (or as it is called now, Nvidia Experience) and I record voice with audacity because Nvidia sucks at recording voice. I edit with Adobe Premiere Pro.
I know how you feel, about the funny thing. I don't know how some people do it, I often wonder if it is something I can learn or if it is just something I don't have.

What I mean is that it feels like to me that nowadays when people try to talk and be funny they come off as like a JohTron rip off where they act goofy.
For instance like the one scene that bugged me a little was the finding the right potion with Ignis

It's not funny, the reason behind it not being funny is because it's been done a billion times already.

I will say that Shadowplay has weird problems, not sure if it is my fault or the software's. Like I get random freeze frames in my videos, often at crucial moments in my recording which is annoying, and while it hasn't happened to me in a while, I used to find that my recordings had no audio for no reason.
The latter problem I haven't run into in a long time, probably because I have a new computer, but the former is ever present.
I take notes on ideas on how I think I can enhance my videos in a notebook and I try to see what works in other people's videos but generally I just do what I do. I think I'm stubborn.
