Metroid Prime

Find a fucking flaw.

Well the gameplay is less action oriented so people might say it's less engaging than previous 2d games. It's also slower than previous games because of this. The biggest flaw I found besides some of the backtracking by the end was just some of the enemy AI including some boss fights. It would've been nice if they were more challenging.

Bugged Flaahgra battle music in the original NTSC release.

The world didn't feel as natural as the one in prime 2. The areas felt disjointed in terms of aesthetic design. Thus, it's harder to immerse yourself in it.

I think that's it.

metroid prime is my favorite game ever and i agree with everything this guy says, and i wish the aiming was done better somehow. the wii version was a direct improvement to the controls, but there wasn't any motion detection in the early 2000s, and i dont know how they could have done the aiming better

I think this made the fight creepier. It's a great song, but the downbeat made the fight suspenseful somehow.

It's not a Mario game.

Worst halo armor design yet

Artefacts.
Chozo Ghosts.

THE TRANSITIONAL ROOMS ARE ALL CORRIDORS WITH THOSE ELECTRIC ROTATING FUCKERS

>Encounter these fuckers
>Don't have Wave Beam
>What the fuck do I do
God you reminded me of those fucking things.

THE COLD SILENCE OF SPACE ONLY PUNCTUATES THE FEELING OF DEATH THAT EMANATES FROM THIS LIFELESS ENVIRONMENT.

ONLY ONE THING IS ALIVE AND WELL HERE...

EVIL.

>Key Hunt near the end
>That one hidden room in Phenanra Drifts

Seriously wtf. You barely utilize x-ray vision, by the time I go key hunting I already forgot about it.

>Trailer is an accurate representation of the game

wew

Just remove stuff that makes traversing already explored rooms a bit less annoying (CHOZO GHOSTS asfhhkdbri) and perhaps add one more good boss battle in it, and it's pretty much perfect then.

Don't forget the one where you have to melt ice with the plasma beam, jump on a box and then shoot the tower with a missile.

to be fair, most of the keys you can get in the early/mid game before it tells you to get them all, unlike mp2

>see them for the first time
>shoot them with the power beam
>doesn't do shit
>switch to wave beam and charge
>mfw they fly right to you

artifacts
/thread

the gc controller sucked for fpses
hidden items made an obvious sound which kinda ruined the fun of searching

everything else is godlike though

>Artifact hunting
>Useless X-ray visor
>Log entry shutouts on creatures in very specific areas (fucking aqua drones and war wasps)
>No Meta Kraid
>Normal missiles are obsolete after beam upgrades (also no rapid fire)
>Awkward FPS controls

There you go.

>No Meta Kraid
This still hurts.

I will never experience playing this game for the first time ever again.

The ending where you gotta find the eight or ten artifacts or relics or whatever, to reach metal Ridley.
Not gonna lie, after three attempts at playing metroid prime and getting bored, I finally sat through the whole game (which is perfectly fine) but backtracking to these artifacts was a screeching halt. I found three of them and got bored of trekking back through the entire game and never finished it.

>normal missiles obsolete
you know you can press a right after firing a missile to instantly return to normal beam, and then fire another missile right?
it removes the fire rate problem and 3 missiles is enough to kill anything, and missile spam is the best way to get through hard mode
>x-ray useless
you can track the little phendrana bats that use cloaking now though, confirmed best visor

FUCKING THIS

This.

One more spatial dimension than needed

That ending collection and the fact that they are locked before the end.
So don't give me this "you don't like exploring" crap

And the fact that you really don't have to aim.

You can get 2/3rd of them before the Plasma Beam.

you only get to phendrana through the magmoor caves or the far away transporter in the chozo ruins

best game of all time

-No speed booster, screw attack or
-Spider ball is limited to magnetic tracks, unlike in Metroid II where you could use it on any surface
-Slow tank movement in a series known for running and maneuvering
-Samus turns slowly
-Too many instances where you have to backtrack the entire map to go somewhere; should have been designed to have more ways to get around Tallon IV besides just elevators or Samus could move a lot faster
-Chozo Ghosts respawn every fucking time you enter certain rooms
-Chozo Artifacts
-Fission Metroids are annoying
-Very easy to miss scanning something on the station and you can never get 100%

Still one of the best Metroid games. But it clearly has things that could have been improved.

map in pause menu, hold z to turn faster

OP asked for flaws, I gave them. Just because you can mitigate the missile firing rate by pressing 2 additional buttons at a time for follow-up shots doesn't mean the original problem doesn't exist now.

fuck this thing
