Yes, but im not going to buy it at full price

It doesn't have to kill anything, but I'll very likely be getting it, unless they do something even worse than all the constant nerfing and simplification.

Nier Automata out a month after, it's a good time to be an action game fan

I was hoping Team Ninja would be working on Ninja Gaiden 4 but Nioh is a fine replacement. Now if only capcom would actually announce DMC5, then it would be a good time to be alive

You mean the Souls and Bloodborne reskin is almost out.

Well, suppose I'll post the recent videos and info. Reminder that there will be a stream on the 20th similar to last month's stream. Reminder to ask for a mode to bring back the Alpha balance and mechanics that the game was designed for.

Beta guide - pastebin.com/VEHby7kd
Compiled all the changes I've spotted in these last few events too.
>ranged controls changed back to be closer to Alpha style, Square and Triangle select ammo type, I assume a shoulder button is to fire
>when you run out of ammo, a red X covers the picture of your ranged weapon so you know you're out, pretty handy to have
>Ninja oni have been slowed down rather dramatically because it wasn't enough that they didn't hit as hard and had openings the size of a nodachi
>The horns on all those types of oni seem to be hugely weaker, breaking in a single low stance strike. Even weakpoints are too hard apparently
>When the mini cyclops steal enough Amrita to transform, they keep the health % they had, often making the transformation trivial as they'll die in one hit anyway
>there still hasn't been another enemy that is able to sidestrafe the way William does (except revenants which don't count for obvious reasons)
>Soul matching may have been replaced with a more typical transmog system, and the blacksmith might have an option to change hairstyle (there was an icon with combs)
>an icon at the Shrine looks suspiciously like the storage box icon, so they either fucked it even more by giving us full access or they did the smart thing letting us just send stuff out

where the strong conquerors at

I'm getting Nier instead because it has waifus.

shill here , i guess ill answer some questions

Do we know what rewards the marks get us yet?

These helmets : imgur.com/a/eKclC

Not so shill here but still answering questions,

Shitty helmets.

Nah.

Getting real tired of these souls games. Dark Souls 3 was the only souls game I didnt get the platinum.

the menus in nioh look so shit like a 10 year old game

Why do you post the same webms. Are you not good enough to make new ones, or are you just lazy

Havent found good enough material yet. Also no live demos makes it hard to find something good

No faggot you're getting both.

And Nioh has cute blacksmith.

oh wow what a dealbreaker

Not really.

thoughts on the new levels?

No matter what it turns out to be, The Mark of the Conqueror is significant.

Before I say why I need to divide the Souls community into two general groups - Conquerors and Conquered - and quickly define both.

Both have basically been around since Demon's Souls, but the very nature of the Conquered demands that the Conquerors come first. Why? Because Conquers beat the path and light the way. Afterward, like mold or a rot, the Conquered seep into the community, ever at the heels of the Conquerors.

How is that? Either by a lack of information upon release or due to a self-imposed restriction, the Conqueror goes in blind. Conquerors embrace the challenge From Software has extended with each release in their Souls/Bloodborne Series while the Conquered abhor it. While Conquerors scratched and clawed their way through levels and boss fights, the Conquered poured over FAQs, Strategy Guides, Wiki Articles, Google Search Results, Let's Plays and How to Videos.

Therefore the Conquered subsist by virtue of the illumination spread over From's games by the Conquerors, entirely dependent on it. Overtime they've let themselves forget this, fancying themselves old hands as they bring their borrowed knowledge and tactics to bear on each successive release.

And then here comes f***ing Nioh, reminding the Conquered who they really are. And with little to no documentation in sight they hide behind s***posts so they can cling to that "gud" status they worked so hard to attain. Eventually they'll be back. Once the Conquerors have shown the way, that is.

And that's why The Mark of the Conqueror is significant. No matter how superficial, uselessly cosmetic or quickly outclassed it is, it still says I'm not . No, I'm a Conqueror.

They look really nice setting wise and I love a lot of the themes, especially the juxtaposition of having Honnouji be frozen, but I'm very much assuming/hoping that they're starting halfway through the levels because they've all been way too small and a bit straightforward, though they at least seem a bit different compared to each other. Even besides that, they don't look like they have nearly enough enemies, and I don't see that being something changeable which would be unfortunate.
Bit of an itchy trigger finger there I think user.

WHERE IS MY NEW NINJA FUCKING GAIDEN YOU HACKS
WHERE IS IT
STOP TRYING TO MAKE SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Almost got me.

i sometimes forget people hate change and want to live in an comfy repetitious cycle

Game looks cool but it's no day one buy for me.

With him being in Musou Stars it shows they haven't forgotten about him. You can still play Nioh while waiting, but it's not Ninja Gaiden and it shouldn't be, and there's nothing wrong with that.

>wanting a new game for a series that peaked at the first one
Let it go brah.

>I can't get the bonus stuff from the demo/beta since I bought a PS4 this Black Friday

Looks amazing, and I'll absolutely be getting it, but it definitely won't kill Bloodborne. It WILL however, give me another reason to get a PS4, alongside Bloodborne. But with all the games this year that I've been super hyped for, and turned out to be disappointing, (RIP Mafia III) I'll keep my expectations for Nioh in check.

>change is always good goy
t. Obama voter

well mafia 3 being shit was no surprise
the nioh demos have been great

Praise be.

>it definitely won't kill Bloodborne

you're right, the lack of a Pro patch will

It's ok, it's only those two helmets. Getting to experience the game in it's earlier states was the real reward though. The demos were great, level of content wise, there was so much to do.
>mfw finishing the first level in the Alpha and going to the map, then realizing there's a whole other level to play

if i beat the first boss and got to the 2nd boss but didn't feel like beating him before the alpha ended, what does that make me?

kek i dont care for politics. Pointless entertainment for monkeys

>that feel when got the Pro in time for 1080p60FPS Nioh

nioh doesnt look bad but its not mind blowing graphics wise and from what i have seen combat isnt dmc3 tier (yes thats the best one if you started with 4 or the reboot then your a pleb and probably a latent homosexual)

A quitter.
Nah it depends on your point of view and mindset more than anything, as well as how capable you were at noticing how the game actually worked and learning about it instead of demanding unnecessary changes. Seems odd to quit a game right at the end if you were having fun though.

Im fan of souls and bloodborne and I played latest Nier demo. Didnt really enjoy it much, but maybe will get it if I dont have anything to play after Persona and Nier

Of course not , they fucked up the game , is just another souls clone.
Give me the ORIGINAL NI OH

here comes alpha tantrum kun

It looks as nice as it needs to honestly, and that they've focused on having 60fps and added the different modes is great.
>combat isnt dmc3 tier
It was never really trying to be, it's a different kettle of fish.

Can't wait to play this on PC

user i....

I know :(

I mean, you only needed to defeat the first boss in the Alpha. but you missed out on a really cool second level that introduced new enemy types and a new boss

Scratch what I said about missing the second level.

Agree with , kind of odd to just quit when you're about to finish. The second boss was awesome

Agreed. I think it's a good policy to always assume a game will be shit unless the developers implement a free temporary early access, to act as a demo, let players bugtest, and as to say "Hey guys! Look! This game isn't garbage!". Ubisoft has been doing that lately with their new IPs, and I love it. I kinda trust a game more if I can play it for free for a weekend before it releases, knowing it'll probably only get better and with more content from here. Steep was a blast. I can't wait for a sale.

Now if only they gave reviewers early review copies instead of falling back on this "full multiplayer experience." cop-out.

Still not really a Souls clone, but you can't deny it lost a chunk of it's uniqueness through the nerfs, removals and simplifying.
The atmosphere in Dazaifu was really top notch.
youtube.com/watch?v=5xqT3HYDgv0
Listen to it with the rain, it's just too good. Nue was such a fun boss as well.

...

>Still not really a Souls clone, but you can't deny it lost a chunk of it's uniqueness through the nerfs, removals and simplifying.

What got taken out?

got rid of durability. this was a good change

stamina change . They basically made it so that you have to get hit when you run out of stamina to get exhausted. Pretty bad change

Camera change . They made the camera more like dark souls. i dont really care for this change that much

Health changes to enemies. I like this because it made the game less tedious . Though i still think the oni's could use more health

in all honesty the changes made the game easier but it was still a hard demo

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if Bloodborne is at least more stable on the Pro? Is it more consistently 30?

>the changes made the game easier
From pic related to this
What went wrong?

When does gam come out?

Originally it was February 9 worldwide, but that's since changed to

February 7 in the US and Canada
February 8 in Europe and Australia/New Zealand
February 9 in Japan and SEA

there's no noticeable difference

Got a copypasta response I made that goes more into detail about the changes and why they're for the worse, but essentially;
Ki stagger used to also happen when you did something you didn't have the Ki for leading to proper management and intense fights.
You used to turn around while running and locked on so circlestrafe cheese wasn't a thing and you had to walk to guard your back. The camera angle was changed too to be one I personally think is far worse.
Durability was a mechanic that was actually effective for once in a game but still manageable and balanced with all the features like offering and having two weapons. Meant there would be something to spend money on and a real reason to use two weapons, as well as work with Familiarity, Vagrant Story-style. Most that think it had to be removed is just against it as a concept, but it tied into everything else and was necessary punishment without being too strict.
Enemies have been getting huge health nerfs for no real reason. Before they took just long enough that you learned how to fight them, now you can brute force them with high stance easily.

This isn't mentioning all the other smaller balance changes (Haze being overbuffed, Ninjutsu/Onmyo getting even more overpowered) or stuff that's been in the later stage demos (I made a post about that), but they have a huge effect on the game.

Doesn't it run games at lower framerates than the normal PS4? How does that work?
Could someone from NeoGAF please explain?

Oh that's not bad.

>killing a series that just ended

No changes, though the Pro gets significantly better loading times.

I don't like the damage numbers popping up, they're kind of distracting. I hope they add a way to turn them off in the final game.

i dont think he was directing this game, but he was keeping an eye on it

PC RELEASE FUCKING WHEN

I unironically feel this way to an extent

>I hope they add a way to turn them off in the final game

Was in the demo, from memory.

When does Nioh come out? I could of swore I read something about this month but now I'm suddenly seeing February 9th of 2017. Did it get pushed back or am I thinking of some beta/demo date?

NEVER
EVER

remembering how souls games died after das1

You could turn them off in the demos so im sure they will give the option to turn it off in the main game

I haven't even bought Dark Souls 3 yet.

The conqueror mark wasn't hard to get.

Maybe if it required co-opping a boss, that shit got ridiculous.

How long could the game be? Will there be post game or just he story?

When it's $20 or less

Go away alpha tantrum user kun

Back during the Alpha, a few retailers in England listed it for pre-order with a release date of late October, but that was obviously a placeholder. That what you were thinking of?

just say soulsborne faggot

The directors said the game was ~70+ hours. But im sure for a souls veteran it will be around ~50+ hours. they also said there will be a ng+ mode

Day one buy for me.
>bloodborne killer
Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Bloodborne isn't even the same series.

is that the new Samurai Warriors?

no

Ninjutsu is cheap as fuck.

Tachibana was a great boss fight, making you have to strategize with techniques, but I was able to defeat him in the beta demo from "cowering" behind a rock and just throwing poison bombs at him till he died to show a friend through share play

Shit was pretty funny. Koei Tecmo please remove the rock

youtube.com/watch?v=IDIsu6q5xpY

Not my vid but that was the exact same rock

One of the directors said back during E3 time about 30-40 hours for your first run through the game.

The other director has since said about 70-80 hours, but no doubt that's factoring in quite a bit of the side content.

tempted to but honestly i'm gonna wait till like easter. I wanna see what they're doing with updates and DLC and if they plan on supporting the game at all. As far as I know there's no plans for a season pass so no sort of major expansions, are they saving it for nioh 2? Are they banking on free updates (would be cool but seems like something they'd advertise), or what?

The alpha and beta were fun but I had SERIOUS fatigue after just a few days of casual 6 hours a day play. you can get through the main areas without a whole lot of trouble, but the real bullshit starts when you need to get higher level gear. I'm sure in the full game it'll be a much smoother transition but the huge fucking jump from being able to get like level 28-29 from the TWILIGHT version of caves, to being able to get 37 from the duel.

Again i'm sure the game will be a lot more balanced around that stuff on release, that's why betas are there, but the core idea of it bothers me.

More than anything else, it's because certain gear is just straight up better. Like, elemental swords will always have an elemental line that's hard locked. Raikiri has lightning, duh. You'd think "oh well I can roll a first line elemental damage or huge bonus to x stance damage" but you may spend THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of gold doin that. I think I spent damn near 200k gold re-rolling my raikiri and lol2kat to get optimal lines. But as you get better lines near the top, the lower ones are much harder because you can (in the beta anyway) only have one particular line type on a weapon. so ONE "low stance damage + X%" and ONE "low stance ki usage - x%", you can't just roll a whole line of that shit.

So, you get to a weapon with a lot of lines, and then you're basically just rolling it to get higher %s on shit lines, and debating whether you want to gamble with going back up to a higher line to try and reroll the good line you got (unlimited ammo ni pic related) or just stick with it because you might just get XP+

There is a season pass and DLC sorry to say, senpai.

The pre-order DLC is a couple of suits of armour and a few special weapons, with the Season Pass is three missions.

There is a season pass confirmed. My main concern is that they will lock side missions behind a paywall

Don't forget you also get this awesome theme for preordering

youtube.com/watch?v=YRA-lpku3SQ

So that's basically the whole endgame from what I could tell, besides fucking around with novelty builds like wooden sword.

The bosses really didn't ramp up, they weren't like souls bosses where even with a good character you could still get shit on, if you had SOLID armor, again, pic related, you would just fucking shitstomp everything. Top that off with the weapons they litter you with, you eventually find something to just run through the game with no problem.

Call me pessimistic but I just don't want the game to have not evolved.

It grew a lot from the alpha, but a lot of it was in the inventory management side of things. Equipment itself was almost exactly the same, excluding shit like durability removal which was almost a guarantee from how stupid it was in the first place.

welp, I haven't bothered looking up info to try and not spoil myself but fuck it. How much is it gonna cost?

I knew about the pre-order/deluxe version, I have a code for the theme from some guy I made friends with during the beta, and ran the twilight arena mission over and over with to farm the purple hero gear in pic related.

not too shabby

>Killer
>When the vast majority of copies that will ever sell have already been sold.

What did he mean by this?

mind if i can have the code user?

Anyone know if it's JUST from digital preorder?

The Nioh website, amazon, and Gamestop website all seem to say that you get the theme and other preorder goodies from physical copies but Best Buy does not say anything about it

I already used it, it's my theme right now actually, first time i've changed it since I got the 25th anniversary theme.

i think you get it immediately from digitally preordering it. If you preorder a physical copy you have to wait for february

It's probably included if it's in a product description; the first run of copies of TLG had a code for the theme packed in.

I've got no choice. Games like souls is rare.
