Never played Crash but I love DEVO. Thanks OP.
Mark Mothersbaugh did do the soundtracks for Naughty Dog games.
Because dude from devo did the soundrack
Devo has five great albums and were highly influential, too bad morons only know them for "Whip It"
WHY DO YOU KEEP
FUCKING
ASKING THIS
Thank you. Everything from Are We Not Men to Oh No It's DEVO was great. Then they went super generic with Shout and it all went downhill from there.
AWNM = NT > DNftF > FoC > ONID
Actually, gonna add to this that Something For Everybody was pretty good too. Reminds me a lot of the Freedom of Choice/New Traditionalists era but it came out in 2010. I wanna get the vinyl for it eventually.
I agree.
Some people exclude Oh No! from the classic years but I think it's pretty good too. Shout is when they truly lost the plot
Oh No is a mixed bag imo. It's got some great songs like That's Good and Time Out For Fun, but then it had some real duds like Speed Racer. Peek-a-boo was okay but I don't really think it deserved to be a single with a music video.
I also just remembered how many good songs Duty Now has. Clock Out, Smart Patrol/DNA, Blockhead, and Strange Pursuit would've put it up there with AWNM and NT for me, but then the album has to have Pink Pussycat.
No he didn't, are you high?
Mark Mothersbaugh is the frontman of Devo and he produced the Crash trilogy's soundtrack
Mothersbaugh didn't, but his company did. Mutant Muzak
No, he produced Crash 1's ost, which is why it sucked so much ass compared to 2 and 3's ost.
He produced 2 and 3 also
His company may have but he only had direct influence on 1. 2 and 3 was Mancell.

>Mothersbaugh is also known for producing music in video games including Sony's Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter series (both music scores were created by Josh Mancell), and creating music for EA Games' The Sims 2. This work is often performed with Mutato Muzika, the music production company he formed with several other former members of Devo including his brother, Bob Mothersbaugh.[20]
>but then it had some real duds like Speed Racer. Peek-a-boo was okay but I don't really think it deserved to be a single with a music video.
You have shit taste in Devo. Truly a rotten spud.
>Speed Racer isn't one of the blandest songs off the first five albums
Aw dad, we're all Devo!
There's hardly anything to the song and it just kinda loops over and over again. Peek-a-Boo, I'll give you that because I just listened to it again and it's alright. The music video gets props for using footage from the 1976 movie though.
Let me explain.
The producer is different from the composer. The composer writers the music, while the producer helps arrange the recording and production of the music. Oftentimes the producer's influence rubs off on the music (for example, all Phil Spector productions have a distinctive "Wall of Sound" feel to them).
Josh Mancell composed all of the music in Crash 1-3. Mark mothersbaugh, via his company Mutato Muzika, produced and oversaw this music in ALL three games (according to interviews with Mancell), hence why it has a "Devo feel" to it at times. You can hear it in levels like Piston It Away and Spaced Out, especially.
Mothersbaugh was also credited as a composer in the credits of the games, but according to Mancell, he didn't actually write any of the music - though he did produce it.
If I recall correctly, Mark was only credited as composer for 1.
I looked in the credits of 2 and 3 and he's also there
Oh, my mistake.
Pink Pussycat is silly but good

Not Devo but personal fav
Twinsanity is incredibly overrated
I don't like it much, but then again I don't really remember that much of side 2 of that album. I pretty much only have side 1 memorized beside smart patrol/mr dna
Stop giving Mark credit for simply owning the company that produced the music for Crash Bandicoot.
The soundtrack is done entirely by Josh Mancell, an employee at Mutato Muzika at the time.
Yeah, I didn't give him credit, I just said his company did it. I knew about Mancell.
>guy from Devo produced Crash's soundtrack
>drummer of the Police wrote Spyro's soundtrack

SONY used to be so based. What happened?
I really wish they'd put up more of the pre-console tracks. That shit is so good.
