Would you buy it?
Gamestop selling Battleborn for 50 cents now
Other urls found in this thread:
Nah
Nope
I wouldn't buy it even if it was free
No thanks
LMAO
Is this for real?
moin uwe
you couldn't give me 50 cents to take it
Nope. Its a multiplayer game which is dead. I wouldn't even play it for free because it would serve no purpose.
^^
I would. I know a couple of people that I want to send a cheap "merry christmas and fuck you" to.
Isn't it f2p already anyway? You'd have to literally pay me to take that trash off your hands.
I haven't taken as much pleasure in watching a game fail in a long time....this game scratched that itch.
FUCK RANDY PITCHFORD
Post yfw you didn't buy Battleborn
...
post YFW you're not anthony burch
...
>Blizzard announces it's MOBA shooter
>"Hey I got a great idea, let's compete with Blizzard by making the exact same game but with far less polish!"
What the fuck were they thinking???
Why won't you buy my fucking disease for 50cent, you damn gamergater racist, sexist, bigot!!
Randy doesn't think, he feels
this is why you don't hire women
they were thinking they could release it before Overwatch and get a relatively loyal fanbase quickly before it came out
they were wrong
no thank you
...
They should pay me 10 dollars to own the game
>even for 0.5 you wouldn't play it
randy you really fucked up
So glad randy cuckford is getting fucked
Fuck him and fuck gearbox
even the empty box itself is worth more
Didn't even know it was a thing until 2 months after release.
To be fair, Overwatch is not really a MOBA-- it's a team-based shooter with hero characters. Battleborn is much closer to an actual MOBA which is probably why it sucks and no-one likes it.
What they have in common is that they're both "hero shooters" and Battleborn tried unsuccessfully to copy Overwatch's aesthetic.
this makes me feel better about buying borderlands 2 at launch.
I was like:
>fuck, it's cool guns on a wild west planet, how can you fuck up that formula?
Then they fucked it up.
have there been any sales figures yet for this?
I wouldn't taint my steam library with that game even if they gave me 60$ for it
But it's BADASS, and it has feminism.
Borderlands 2 was better than the first in every way IN TERMS OF GAMEPLAY
The characters and humour were fucking awful though (apart from Jack sometimes)
Oh and I've heard endgame/ng+ content is kind of lacking but I've never been interested in that anyway
...
...
Did soooomeone say feminism!?
As a privileged white male I am now obliged to buy this product!
>chillmo
>kein adblocker
>klickt bestimmt auch auf ref-links
'nein'
Maybe because I first played 2 then 1, I ended up preferring the gameplay in 2.
In terms of story Jack is the outlier in the whole thing, actually being good, charismatic and fun to listen to for the most part. Likely because there were a lot of lines ad libbed by the VA.
It's honestly amazing how I wouldn't buy this even for 50 cents. How much can you fuck up if people won't buy a triple A game for 50 cents.
>"FEMINISM IS AWESOME!"
No.
>The characters and humour were fucking awful though (apart from Jack sometimes)
And Scooter sometimes, and Moxxi sometimes, etc. Every character was at least "okay with some bad lines", with a few consistently good ones (Jack, Sal, Kreig, Maya). And despite everything about the quality of the lines, delivery was top-notch all the time.
>I've heard endgame/ng+ content is kind of lacking
It has the usual shortcomings of NG+ retreads, plus how UVHM really shouldn't exist because scaling is exponential but everyone bitched about it not being released until it was.
>Borderlands 2 was better than the first in every way IN TERMS OF GAMEPLAY
Fuck no, the fact that the guns scaled like piss compared to enemies meant that you ended up fighting bullet sponges constantly. This also lead to less limited build variation in order to kill things (slag). Not to mention the variation of guns are fuckin shyte, I haven't played in ages but there were so many guns that had good stats that were then ruined by some shit mod.
Not to mention they ruined the desolate wild west/mad max planet feeling by making everything into its own retarded biome like an MMORPG.
I mean, it's not like the first game had much of a story anyway, but they went way too overboard with the 'quirky' characters and 'hilarious' dialogue in what are otherwise pretty fun quest chains. The gang war chain is my favourite in the series partly because they don't go too crazy with the 'witty' monologues
...
I had a problem where I couldn't scroll through the NPC's lines when given the quests so a lot of it ended up going over my head. Being able to accept quest, start walking while hearing them talk was good. Also the guns all felt the same in 1. Was playing as Mordecai and every sniper felt exactly the same, same reload and everything animation and everything.
>Hey whats up guys, TechRax here
>buy
>free
>Fuck no, the fact that the guns scaled like piss compared to enemies meant that you ended up fighting bullet sponges constantly
I've recently replayed both and I haven't really noticed this at all, the only thing that's really come up is that bosses have a lot more HP in the second, which is good because boss fights were always painfully short in the first one, borderlands 2 bosses are much more scaled for multiplayer co-op but that still doesn't stop some bosses going down hilariously quickly (Johan being a big one)
I'll give the VA's credit. Even bad lines got delivered in the best way they could.
moin Uwe
>physical Battleborn for 50 cents.
>digital Battleborn is still 50 €.
>muh digital games are cheaper!
For the most part of 2 and even Pre-Sequel, there were definitely bullet sponge enemies but nothing that would make me quit the game like the fucking retarded hillbillies in Fallout 3 dlc. I'm guessing that's much worse in NG+.
>Overwatch
>polished
Overwatch has no content, it's literally a TF2 reskin
>B-But MUH BLIZZARD
Yeah they got it spot one, unfortunately the lines they got spot on were mostly unfunny and annoying
like holy shit that one fucking quest that's just a Top Gun reference was fucking painfully unfunny
Oh and who the fuck thought it was a good idea to give the most annoying character in the game her own DLC?
I wouldn't play this badass game even if you paid me.
i dont even know what you do in battleborn 2bh
I liked the concept of her dealing with Roland's death.
Unfortunately it was Burch writing so the annoying little shit gets amplified and you end up with Dark Souls parody quests and a painfully bad delivered fart joke in the main quest.
You start it up on Steam and inflate the userbase numbers to make it look like the game's not dead. That's what Gearbox does, you might even get a job there.
>I haven't played in ages but there were so many guns that had good stats that were then ruined by some shit mod.
More phenotypes equals more content. In phenotype looters, some good stats with some shit stats is fantastic, since it a) encourages item diversity and b) keeps you looting in hopes of a better item. Above that, the apples-to-oranges mfg. traits are far better than BL1's stats which made Atlas the best all the time.
>Not to mention they ruined the desolate wild west/mad max planet feeling by making everything into its own retarded biome like an MMORPG.
IMO BL2 seemed far more comfortable with its setting than BL1. BL1 has humour infrequent in story but common in play (more common in DLC), while BL2 has a consistent tone in story and play. I'd write it up to the style change being inconsistently adopted since it wasn't an integral part of design.
>that one fucking quest that's just a Top Gun reference
It's corny because it's corny. At a certain level, you're supposed to hate the corn so you want to kill everything.
>who the fuck thought it was a good idea to give the most annoying character in the game her own DLC?
VA schedules. Can't make content for characters whose talent you can't book on time, and you want to make all the content you can for available talent.
Aside from referencing their own personality quirks or hobbies, all the characters have the same "zany" manner of speech
>Burch
>writing
I'm not sure copying near-death memes from reddit constitutes "writing" user.
It's been 1 euro in France at some physical retailers for like several weeks now. It's probably more expensive for them to destroy those boxes.
The price in Steam is controlled by the publisher, the one in stores is controlled by the stores themselves.
Reminder that the devs play the game, stomp new players and laugh at them.
I don't think Maya's dialogue is comparable to Brick's.
how you know?
do you mean Lillith? Maya was the playable character
And?
...
That the publisher will want you to pay as much as possible.
There's a moment where games in stores become just wastes of space, so they lower it enough to just get rid of them.
>Corny because corny makes you want to kill
This is something Borderlands always had difficulty understanding. Stuff like Claptrap, being designed to be annoying, doesn't make him any less annoying. It's just annoying. Same as the quest. Just because it's meant to be corny doesn't make it less corny. Burch's writing has always been a case of "This is shit, but if I acknowledge it's shit, then it won't be shit." Doesn't work like that but I guess no one has had the heart to tell him.
>VA schedules
More like some nepotism at work. But whatever
>More phenotypes equals more content
Too bad they removed a bunch of phenotypes, namely the useful ones
>IMO BL2 seemed far more comfortable with its setting
That's the point, it's a shit setting. Being comfortably shit isn't a good thing.
I couldn't explain it any better than this guy
youtube.com
There was a steam user in the forums talking about it. I'm sure someone has the pic to share here.
Do you get the joke now?
I meant Maya "Don't call me 'child" Maya.
...
>Too bad they removed a bunch of phenotypes, namely the useful ones
This, so much this. Shit not only are there no mashers in the game, revolvers aren't even a gun anymore, it's like *poof* there goes your favorite weapon type. Who's idea was that?
exactly
>moin uwe
Dass es überhaupt noch Leute gibt, die Shoutboxen benutzen
I don't speak in nazi, sorry.
Serious question. When Battleborn was just launched, Pitchford said the team had tons of upcoming projects, among them a Battleborn cartoon. "Fans" speculated that they wanted Rebecca Sugar to design and draw it.
So is it actually going to happen, or what?
I doubt they're going to dump money into a multimedia project considering the tepid reaction from consumers. They got ahead of themselves promising things, assuming the game would be a smash.
(You)
2K first said they weren't giving up on the franchise, then they admited that Battleborn was a failure and pretty shitty.
In other words, it's unlikely. They honestly thought this was going to be an enormous success.
he's literally just saying 1 was better because the guns were stronger. In 2 you actually have to look for stuff more than the green arrows since each weapon brand had a different playstyle involved. Things like a weapon only burst firing when you look down the scopes or weapons exploding when recharged or assault rifles that fire high damage but low accuracy and speed explosive rounds really change up how you play the game. The rest is just him sperging out of lore bullshit that doesn't matter anyway
...
>revolvers aren't even a gun anymore
Jacobs pistols. Unless you're implying that revolver pistols aren't pistols first.
Still too expensive.
...
How did they manage to convince themselves of that?
I mean, they had access to their own game. They could see first-hand how terrible it was from day 1.
Randy owns Duke Nukem, he's not hurting for my money
Honestly, if o was randy bobandy and Anthony bitch boy, i would end it now
>it's literally a TF2 reskin
>with more tits
>but less unapologetic banter
Overwatch needs unapologetic banter
Randy is a dangerously unstable individual. Who probably just isn't dead yet because Satan protects him instead of having to deal with his bullshit for all eternity.
Same reason why MN9 promised the moon. Devs with egos too big to consider failure to be a possibility.
Gearbox is delusional. In their eyes they can do no wrong. It's always someone else's fault.
I wonder how the community will react to this when you post this in the Steam forums.
What is the minimum hourly wage you would accept to play Battleborn 8hrs a day?
dude it wouldnt be worth it even for $100/h
youd come home hating video games and never wanting to play. youd drive yourself to suicide
