When it works it's great. When there's something in front of what I was trying to click on, I get to hear Yuki's moans as she's beat up so it's still pretty good. The game runs quite badly though. ~40fps on some maps regardless of settings.

I hope this revives this genre of games.

I'm sort of stuck on this mission though, It appears as though the guy with the key to the gates is behind the gates? I'm still working my way towards the fortress though so there may be some trigger to get him to come out I haven't encountered yet.

This game is hard on my hardware for the graphical fidelity it has.
i7 4790k and a GTX 1080 @ 1440p and I can only get about 70fps while my CPU is almost 70c.
This game makes my CPU hotter than any other game I own.

if settings don't affect your fps, the problem is the CPU. Wait for a patch. If an i7-3770 isn't at max boost clock it's pretty slow in today's world. Not a problem in majority of games, but Shadow Tactics is a special case of bad CPU optimization.

Yeah, while I could absolutely have a better heatsink for my CPU and my CPU is known for running somewhat warm the fact that this game makes my CPU hotter than literally every other game is disappointing. It's still not alarmingly hot but nevertheless.

It's not. You should only start to worry a 80c, and even if it overheats, most PC parts these days have automatic measures to protect them, such as automatic shutdowns.

I mean, Ideally you would want 60c to be absolute maximum imo, but this only matters if you want to keep your parts running for 7-10 years. Personally I will upgrade every 3 years or so, so I'm not worried.

Anyone unlock the hardest difficulty level? I feel this is how the game is meant to be played.

In the game options there's a setting to turn overhead subtitles on for the guards.
It doesn't work for the playable characters and the font is huge for some reason though.
