But you should always keep an irreductible amount of respect for others, because that's not a matter of politics, but of your own sanity.

My take on respect is that, even when you find out that another human is just a disgusting slimy piece of shit, you should keep that modicum of respect as to not detach his life completely from yours. He is a human like you, and you fucking up like he did is a possibility, and it's your responsibility to avoid it. Losing all respect for a human, calling him monster and just entirely detaching him from you is just refusing to acknowledge that the human race, and by extension you, can sink that low, that it is a risk you face and should be wary of.

But back on the sexism bit. I wholeheartedly believe that women should be treated as harshly as men, as they are made of the same stern stuff. However our western civilizations have been belittling women, forcing them in gender roles (men were shoehorned in these too) and as we wisened up, we proclaimed equality, and gave women an equal part in society. In theory. In practical terms, gender discriminations still do exist, and the society at large is still harsher on women than on men. But "equality" right? We're supposed to be equals, it's even in the fucking laws of some countries, so how do you fight that inequality that shouldn't be? Some women decide to hunt every single bit of thing that could be conceived as sexist. That's not exactly effective, but that's because they lack a clear, definite enemy to rally against.

Gender discriminations are still a thing, both sexes get oppressed by this shit, but women have it worse, so as long as these discriminations exist we have to oppose them, even if it means taking kid gloves. Once these discriminations are finished and done for, then no more kid gloves, men and women stand equal and will be punched equally hard.
