What could have been.

SuMo are great games.

Best game since yellow. You can't even prove me wrong.

I thought it got pretty good once you fight Lusamine.
I hate how often it bars off exploration though. And I really don't understand why the story is so highly praised, it's super basic and filled with squandered potential as usual, and spends way too much time on cutscenes for what they actually achieved.

The story is praised because people like Lillie. And the other games never had squandered potential. They never even tried (bar the gen 5 games). In SM it actually felt like you were always working with the story instead of fighting the evil team every 2 gyms and then catching the legendy before the 8th gym. I think it had good pacing as well. And again, people LOVE Lillie.

>And I really don't understand why the story is so highly praised
For the same reason the fanbase sucks Gen 5's dick about the same thing.

The Pokémon fanbase is so incredibly starved for originality that literally anything that departs from formula even slightly is seen as a 10/10 story.

>which evolves into the shittiest final starter evolution of all time

Literally a cat...

Lack of Hypno is lacking.

>why the story is so highly praised
probably because the characters were likeable for once instead of being retarded braindead cunts that follow you around (looking at those dumbass kids in X/Y especially). even the villains were likeable

I am at a loss for words.

Except Hau is a retarded brain dead cunt, Lillie is pathetic and Kukui is just obnoxious as hell

>no mention of Gladion

I liked SoS fights. Pokemon has never been challenging but it's a different story when it comes to endurance. Getting a shiny salazzel was really something because it can poison you and deal fixed damage based off your level.
The actual gameplay was kind of lame. There were way too many cutscenes right at the start it was like playing Persona. Pokemon trainers who only had 2 dudes maximum aren't much of a challenging or any more interesting than fighting wild pokemon. And I'd rather have one TM pokemon that does everything instead of half a dozen rental pokemon, especially since the landbased ones were all the same and needing to switch between them was super dumb.

Oh right, the chuuni. Forgot he existed

Better than gen 6, but that's not much of an accomplishment.

is there any porn of an Octazooka sucking dick hard?

doesnt have to be male

>hating on Kukui
I can understand lillie, considering i hated her for most of the game, maybe even hau, but kukui? the fuck did kukui ever do to you? make you jealous of his hot wife or something?

Did you use the Dpad for Ride pokemon shortcuts? That made it a lot better, and easier than HMs.

You mean Octillery? Yeah there is.

With the exception that gen V's story is actually interesting.

Why does Omanyte have to evolve into an ugly piece of shit?

Attempt to be funny by tossing around attack names in sentences, the whole Masked Royal schtick, barging into my house and giving me the most obnoxious Pokedex. Fuck Kukui

Fuck you. Also I don't see what the masked royale has to do with Kukui.

It wasn't anything amazing but it was better than gen 6 for sure.

No one cares

litareally my moms cat

>bulbasaur

I legit feel like I'm in an alternate dimension whenever Sun and Moon are discussed. I thought it was very mediocre, but Sup Forums and /vp/ praise it universally. I'm usually the one who gives games a break (I enjoyed Skyrim more than DS) but the tables have suddenly turned.

What did you all like about it so much?

>good pacing

No. There was no buildup to any of the major events in the game. You SUDDENLY was at the Aether base, then you SUDDENLY were at the Skull hide out, then SUDDENLY you're against Aether in the climactic battle oh and SUDDENLY we need two flutes to resurrect the legendary.

They didn't even include fighting each individual UB as part of the story. So much wasted potential for what could have actually been the best Pokemon experience.

Not to mention that there's really nothing to UBs except for the fact that they're Pokemon from an alternate dimension that Lusamine wanted to collect, it really never amounted to anything.

>I enjoyed Skyrim

Have you considered that you might just have bad taste?

>make you jealous of his hot wife or something?
Yes

its a fun game with improved core mechanics and a fresh take on the tired old formula.

Myabe that is why you like skyrim over darksouls.

>I enjoyed Skyrim
I hope you didn't play more than 20 hours because that's the honeymoon period for that game before you realize it's repetitive, shallow, and poorly written garbage. Unless you like walking through caves and forests because it's honestly pretty good at that

this
makes it obvious that it was made by baby fans who just make tentacle jokes

Hey buddy, I think you got the wrong board

Pokemon board is two spaces down

Pokemon fans tend to be drones that will eat anything.

From an objective standpoint S/M are outright bad

I feel you. I wonder if the game I got was a fake version and somehow everyone else is playing a version that has a stable framerate and there's not as many cutscenes and shit.

Skyrim actually had gameplay.

Cuz he's a star.

Why the fuck does Wicke give you 2 big malasadas when you talk to her under the labs when you first start the UB post game content? Am I missing something here?

>its a fun game

not really. Hardly a game at all.

>improved core mechanics

By removing features?

>a fresh take on the tired old formula.

By doing literally nothing new?

Skyrim's horrid, repetitive gameplay is in no way better then Pokemon's horrid, repetitive gameplay.

Pokemon hasn't been good since 3, where they really doubled down on competitive autism

It ruins the game. Stall moves, abilities and other assorted faggotry have absolutely no use for the player in the campaign and just makes the campaign either frustrating to play normally or just an annoying obstacle if you raise just one Pokemon

Also when they realised people were just using one Pokemon to beat the game they clearly stopped caring about making it interesting at all to play pre-League. Pokemon is just trash now, it's just a battle sim for faggots with the world only there so those people can pretend breeding and raising comp Pokemon is fun in any way

Thats right. Because I don't know where to start with your bullshit

>hentai dream team
>no big guy archetype like machamp
>no less vanilla archetype like rapidash

Oh, I see you haven't played the game, its a shame, you should give it a try, there's even a 3ds emulator that can run it.

>Fuck! He's right!
>better use a dead-end non-argument! T-That'll show him!

cry more drone.

Yes,my fav pokemon games in a long time

Tangrowth is unnecessarily over-designed, it's just overgrown Tangela with arms

Can you name a feature they removed?

I hope you just really want (you)'s and aren't actually this angry of a person not that wanting (you)'s is much better

right about what? all the non arguments and hot opinions he said?

You should calm down user.

It's incredibly mediocre, but even mediocre is a massive improvement compared to the last two pieces of shit in the series. It has some of the most monumentally retarded decisions in the entire series.
>let's combine join avenue and the player search system and ruin both
>making fishing complete shit
>NO NATIONAL DEX

Tangela didn't need an evolution

I mean what is the logical evolution? More tangled? It's a bit of a one note concept to expand on

I want to fug an Incineroar girl (female)!

I didn't even care about the framerate.

The cutscenes were bad but I could have given that a pass if the game was worth its salt otherwise.

>there's no exploration anymore. Routes are short, caves are short, surfing doesn't connect the islands
>while the totem trials are challenging, every other aspect of most trials are shit, and there's no variation of Pokemon teams to fight leading up to it
>the catch rate for new Pokemon is atrocious
>the locale is, for the most part, bland
>the trainers have 3 Pokemon tops
>the NPC dialogue has no life to it, even by Pokemon standards
>the story suffers from Naruto syndrome where the characters are top tier but the best characters are never in the story for too long
>the story pacing was horrible

It wasn't a bad game, but it definitely wasn't a good game. Well, I guess we all have to have to have the unpopular opinions at some point.

Sun/Moon were okay.

All the attempts at revamping the formula like Island Trials/Totem Pokémon/Kahunas instead of Gyms and Ride Pokémon instead of HMs were all great, all the characters were a lot more memorable and endearing than in previous gens due to shit like meeting them at restaurants, challenging Trial Captains after finding their homes, etc. But the game was bogged down by having those characters CONSTANTLY interrupting your adventure for the most mundane of reasons and railroading you into corridors of nofunallowed, which is by far my biggest gripe with the games.

The plaza and its grinding bullshit felt like a downgrade from the simple and clean, always accessible online system of X/Y and Super Training. SOS Battles are actually really fucking fun and can even turn some random battles into actual challenges provided you can't OHKO the opponent. In fact, I found the difficulty balance to be quite impeccable this time around, especially compared to the shitshow that was XY, everything was neither too easy nor too hard, I still felt like I won some Kahuna and E4 battles by the skin of my teeth (to be fair, that's my fault for running an entire team that was weak to Rock), and that's due in no small part to going back to the Exp scaling of gen 5 (something they never should have dropped).

Also Battle Royal against AI is fucking terrible, but against actual human beings, it might be my all time favorite game mode.

All in all, there's obviously room for improvement, especially concerning pokémon distribution, free roam exploration and story beats to gameplay ratio, but S/M are still great entries to the series that bring a lot of neat things that I PRAY GF won't idiotically drop next game PLEASE DON'T BRING BACK HMS PLEASE

Dude, you're gonna run out of non-arguments soon!

>no U

Anyone else have a hard time settling their main roster?

I've switched so many Pokemon in and out of the main team due to being complete bombarded with new Pokemon to play with.

Didn't we just have this thread?
Anyway I'm enjoying it so far so unless it somehow drops midgame I think I like it.

>fact are opinions
>FUCK! HE CALLED ME OUT ON MY EAR PLUGGING TACTICS! BETTER CALL HIM MAD

What's wrong? Do you get triggered by the red pill?

My dream is for pokemon to go back to 2d sprites for the over world and keep the 3d Pokemon battles

>everything is a red pill now
I remember when this meme meant something to people.

I also remember when people knew how to differentiate between opinions and facts. I guess all this SJW revolution is all about making them one and the same.

Aw come on, you just flat out wasted that one. Okay, don't worry bro, I'm sure you have a few more. There's still

>this is bait
>deflection
>calling me a sonygger or a genwunner or another boogeyman you have
>dismissive smug image

There, see? You got plenty bro. Don't get upset and waste one again tho

Nice job pointing out you haven't played the game cunt.

>this much deflection

lol your shitposting won't make this game good dude

prove me wrong, drone.

There should be an option to speed up battles and cutscenes. Like holding down a shoulder button or putting dialogue on auto scroll. I know you can disable battle animations under Options, which is great for grinding. But it's very tedious having to sit through a two hour tutorial every time I want to start a game, you know?
And fuck the guy who programmed Type: Null with 0 base Friendship at Lv. 40.

>ignoring bait is bad now
this is the Sup Forums you made and deserve

>REEE FUCK FUCK FUCK HE KNOWS ALL OF MY TRICKS FUCK WHAT DO I DO NOW?
>I-I'LL MISINTERPRET HIS POST! IT'S... MY LAST RESORT...

I enjoyed it, that's why I would recommend it, I even said why I did. You are just mad because of your shit taste.

>I enjoy 10fps movies

Yep. You're a drone. Please leave, this is a board for VIDYA

nice trips, shame you are trying way to hard. Have a smug anime picture so you can actually feel like you are "trolling"

Imagine being at the point in your life where you're always angry and your happiness relies on winning internet arguments

It's not hard to raise friendship at all in this game. Like 2 rainbow beans and suddenly max affection.

I do infact the fact that all the new pokemon are busted to hell and back with there abilities. But the story was fucking awful.

>Frame drops
Not my fault you played it on a shitty 3ds instead of an overcloaked n3ds

Oh boy where do I begin.

>By removing features?

Name one feature they removed from past games. I'd love to see it.

>By doing literally nothing new?

>Replacing gyms with island trials
>Introducing Ultra Beast, which aren't even Pokemon
>Introducing Z moves

I really do hope you're just a troll and not this fucking sad. All you're doing is trying too hard to hate the game for no reason.

Last pokemon game I played was Soul Silver

I'm getting Moon after christmas

How disappointed will I be?

Sun/Moon only seem good because both X/Y and OR/AS were horrible.

friendship =/= affection

Yes, I personally enjoyed it.

Yep. Just as predicted.

You're like the most generic Sup Forums user ever. Salt and all

>what is Meganium
>what is Typhlosion
>what is Swampert
>what is Emboar
>what is Chesnaught
>what is Primarina

I'd nibble on her two Big Malasadas, if you know what I mean.

>(I enjoyed Skyrim more than DS)
>Sun and Moon mediocre

I'm so sorry your life went that way..

>Typhlpsion
I kinda like it's design. It's not that bad.

I liked it a lot better than X/Y. Actually enough to make me want to finish it. I like a lot of the new monsters too.

Overall though it mostly makes me want to just go back and play through Heart Gold/Soul Silver again.

>projecting this hard

At first you'll be disappointed because the game holds your hand through the first island. But once you leave Melemele and can play by your own pace it's a great time. The main storyline is 30 hours and there's a lot to do in the postgame.

all as bad or almost as, doesn't make the sausage fingers any better.

Hey you wanna address this or did I just destroy any argument you just made?
