Was 1998 the best year gaming ever had?

Was 1998 the best year gaming ever had?

Either 1998 or 2004. Both are good candidates for best year of the golden age.

>Fallout 2
>Spyro 1
>Crash 3
>Half-Life 1
>MGS1
>Grim Fandango
>Xenogears
>Ocarina of Time
I suppose so.
What came out in 2004?

>What came out in 2004?

From the top of my head, GTA San Andreas and MGS3.

2004 gaming was already in decline

Those two alone do make a good argument. Also I had this thingie saved.

>not a single might and magic game
who makes these

These also came out 98'

>Point Blank
>Vigilante 8
>Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines
>MediEvil
>Parasite Eve
>Tenchu: Stealth Assassins

Also half life 2 and halo 2

2001>>>

Today I bought a N64 with Star Wars:SOTE, Turok 2, Zelda MM and Goldeneye.

Today was a good day for gaming.

No it wasn't. Maybe by 2006, and definitly by 2007. But gaming was at one of it's all time peaks in 2004.

>What came out in 2004?

Pic related, but it's missing a few titles like Star Wars Battlefront 1, Jak 3, RE Outbreak 2, Hitman Contracts, Silent Hill The Room, Flatout and a bunch of other notable titles too I can't recall right now.

>HoMM3 right at the fucking top

Did your mum and dad forget to make your eyes when they conceived you?

Just because that was when you were born doesn't mean it's the best year.

>Pic related

Forgot my fucking pic.

>Halo 2
Ah yes. Those were simpler times alright. I was the first person in my circle of friends to beat it. Even if it was on easy, I was first.

1999

>Xbox version of Half Life 2

For what purpose?

Where the PC ports of Halo 1 and 2 good? I've only played Halo CE on OG Xbox.

>"Hmmm, while certainly a fairly good year, calling it the best year of gaming is probably a bit of a stre-"
>Turok 2
Yup. 98 was YOAT.

Year of great sequels, but not as good as others in their series.
Pretty respectable, tho.

>yoat

what?
