FINAL FANTASY XV

Will there ever be a better Final Fantasy than XV?

Square Enix has finally managed to top VII.

>Square Enix has finally managed to top VII.
now THIS is shitposting

FFXV was worse than VIII.

If the game was actually finished, then they probably would have topped VII. Sadly, it wasn't

Anyone who pretends this game isn't a 3/10 has brain damage.

We're discussing FFXV. Not your face.

if a 6/10 game is considered the golden standard for FF then rest of the series must be pretty bad

OP is obviously shit posting
IV VI VII IX are all above 8.5/10

whine whine someone likes a game i don't

fuck off

It's a shame that if they weren't forced to rush it we may have been saying that for real

It's better than XII and XIII at least

despite its' flaws, it's already objectively the best ff out there

First FF since 7 where I actually liked the side characters. They did the free roam part good but to much shit happens off screen

>it's better than XII

hahaha, no

>if you select a Rayal Arm you will automatically block bullets without using a mana
>it looks like in the first Versus trailer

WHY THE FUCK NO ONE TOLD ME THIS

Anything's better than the brown and dull shitshow of XII.

>no playable females
>fujo trash

fuck no

Slowest start to any final fantasy, I'm a hour and a half in and I have no clue what the fuck the direction of the story is. I'm having the hardest time getting any farther, I'm seriously so fucking bored right now, its hard for me to grind out the beginning.

almost every other final fantasy gave a idea what direction the story is going in the first hour but this one I'm still stuck with these fucking four boy band looking mother fuckers on the way to the wedding of the prince.

And there are no other cast members besides these Entourage fucks, shit at least the joke was those four guys are shit and you are supposed to laugh at them. Its like Square made a Entourage rpg but didn't know that we loved to hate them for being shitty people and failing up.

I like that battle system, I wish it was in a fun game.

>Will there ever be a better Final Fantasy than XV?
You mean worse.

>better than XII
I wished

XII had better hunts, big monsters where introduced with proper cutscenes, more variety to the world, infinitely better summons and plot that is actually finished.
Also the characters actually progressed throughout the game

I enjoyed the shit out of XV's first half and Ifrit fight but it's still nowhere close to being above average

maybe once they give us the complete fucking game.

PC users will have all the rights to say "THANKS FOR BETA TESTING CONSOLE KEKS" when the game comes out for PC with the unfucked second half.

even xii was rushed at the end though...

you pretty much need to watch the movie in order to grasp the story easier at the start

I really like the fishing mini game

the movie doesn't tell you anything though it's just a cash-in cutscene removed from the game.

FF7 is a shit game. XV has amazing foundation to be great, but SE demanded its director focus on a shit game's remake thus turning XV into a muddled narrative for the second half of the game.

Not to the point of major ploylines and characters being completely cut or pushed off screen.

XII isn't perfect but in case of XV Tabata and co clearly had no idea what to do with all their concepts

>That nonsensical scenes with Luna going past the troopers that was so over hyped to show what a strong woman she is.

>People are now pretending XII was anything but shit

the first half was muddled too, the entire story is shit tier because Nmura had nothing to do with it.

Typical Tabata game but this time it was rushed.

This. I honestly believe this had the potential and the fundation to become the greatest in the series, i still enjoyed it for what it is but man did they slack in some areas.

(You)

Whats your biggest non-questline fish? 80" for me

>cutscene removed from the game
which is exactly why watching it gives context to the rest of the game

just pirate it user

It turned out better atleast than what was about Nomura's vision

The first half was pretty clear. Meet up with Luna, can't, get the power of past Kings, get the power of the gods, meet up with Luna.

It loses structure right after Altissia.

Guys where do I unlock / start the first chocobo race ?

Chocobo farm

So much fucking wasted potential here. I went into this thinking that Sup Forums was being the usual overdramatic contrarians that they usually are, but then I left on the boat for Altissia, and realized that a good majority of the complaints are true.

I promise that I'll never say a mean thing about X again.

Too obvious. Will check it out again, thanks.

I'm not that other guy. But the cutscene doesn't give context, it's just cut off of Nomura's idea to sell. Sorry I didn't say that clearly before.

There's no good reason for any of that though and after you find out about your entire city being ruined the characters just forget about it and keep on doing random shit. It's a fucking terrible game, it doesn't care about the story at all.

I know wtf is going on, all I remember is the cringe scenes with Vaan, the Fran and Balthier were awesome but every thing else was meh and the interesting things were never expanded on.

People also talk about the "great" battle system but once you get reverse its literally impossible to die

is this a picture taken by prompto?

Most people seem to think they get the races from the tipster so they think it must still be locked. There is another guy there for the races

>read that the game was shit
>haha you're lying lalala can't hear you
>buy it
>it's shit
You're literally the cancer killing this industry.

Except it literally shows the entire events of what happens in Insomnia as well as some of Ardyn's manipulations...

the shilling continues

well it sets a pretty solid foundation for the game. the very end of the movie is exactly right at the start of FFXV.

Which have nothing to do with the game and are never touched upon because the entourage boy band wasn't there.

It doesn't at all though.
> the very end of the movie is exactly right at the start of FFXV
The very end of the movie has nothing to do with the movie though.

Currently I am 16 hours in and just got Ramuh.

Negative:
Some minor things need to be patched.
- grass / bushes need to get transparent when in front of the camera.
- the combat in caves or narrow places is really confusing - most of the time I don´t see what the fuck I´m doing.
- The game crashed / did not progess for me in the Titan battle.
- Summoning mechanic is weird and does only work when it feels like, even if I hold down L2
- Kind of a sausage party.

Positive:
- The grafics are nice and colorful. I don´t care how the promotion material looked, it looks stunning.
- The guys are very lovable.
- Exploring feels natural and fantastic. I absolutely hated FF13 and thought FF would be over for me, but this is really nice.
- Enemy design is fantastic.
- Promptos fotography is really innovative and fun.

So far I love it.

Yes it is I skilled him very early.

>Will there ever be a better Final Fantasy than XV?
Probably, but not anytime soon.

well fuck, i didn't think his photos applied AA

>- Summoning mechanic is weird and does only work when it feels like, even if I hold down L2

you need to be locking on to your target and holding it down for a couple seconds without being interrupted

Yes. Ardyn being the one who pushed the wedding of Noctis and Luna thus causing Regis to send Noctis and gang out when he knew that Insomnia was about to be attacked and keeping Noctis from certainly dying, being able to travel and gain power, and then kill Ardyn has nothing at all to do with the game where Noctis is able to defeat Ardyn and end the destruction of the world because he gathered power from his ancestors, the gods, and the crystal which, when combined, was the only thing that could end Ardyn.

You should probably leave before you get spoiled people tend to be very free about those kinda things in these threads

I´m really impressed by the algorithm for the photos so far. I got nice shots and he is not even fully maxed out with photografing.

That's real fucking amazing.

>you
>literally eating that shit writing up

>GUYS KINGSGLAIVE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GAME

>Except it does and here's multiple reasons why

>LOL U LOVE SHIT WRITING LOLOLOLO

>everyone on Sup Forums is the same person

eat shit

How the fuck did they make this game with little to no glitches? Even skyrim HD release has many immersion breaking glitches still, the only immersion breaking here is the load screens because they take so long.

Only glitches I have seen is on here and no crashes 25 hours in

Why is the main story so depressing. They went seriously overboard imo

I'm not sure if you're new here or not, but Sup Forums says every new game is shit, and I usually disagree. A broken clock is still right twice a day.

This game is plagued with glitches.

I was really hoping that Noctis and Luna got revived in the end.. The main villain literally got everything he wanted... The only way they could BTFO him is reviving Noctis and Luna.

I got already majorly spoilered 2 days before release, but I don´t really care, I read the first words of the posts very carefully and hope for the best. Anyways thanks mate you seem to be a nice guy.

Thanks, will check it out later.

Thats a feature, didn´t you know the Regalia could fly? It´s just practicing.

There is a bit of RNG with summons since it is beings with free will deciding to help you out. There are things you can do to make summons more likely to appear but it is still a random occurance for the most part.

Im wishing we got some reward, some kind of payoff for finishing the game. Like really we fell in love with these characters for 9 chapters, not to mention all the years in development, just for them to all end up dead or in a post apocalyptic world with little hope left. The camping/roadtrip part of the game is fun but I'm seriously disappointed in the plot.

And maybe I am spoiled for expecting a happy ending where Noctis actually retakes the throne, but idgaf. I'm mad and I'll stay mad, thank you.

>Hammerspace is integral part of the players powers

I wish more games did this

So you're cancer who has bad taste. Nice.

It's the opposite. They didn't.

I didn't feel anything at all because of lack of characterization, development and an incredibly vague story presentation.

They should've made it clear in-game that Luna and Noctis are going to die from the beginning. The atmosphere of inevitable doom should've permeated the entire story.
Luna should've been a party member or highly recurring character and all her meetings with the Astrals should've been shown in-depth and how it destroys her. It should've shown her how she struggles to continue on, miserably crawling to her own demise.

The game right now only shows a tiny fragment of this. The characters know it's going to happen, but neither they or the story ever shows or acknowledges it.

Ardyn's plan and how he was going do win regardless of what you're doing also should've been made clearer and earlier.

You should avoid doing to many sidequests until like chapter 7(I think) or you'll miss out on one of the best fights in game due to overleveling

At this point you get punished for doing side-quests, but not doing them will finished the game in less than 30 hours

The main theme of the game is unrewarding sacrifice. Ardyn went through it, the Lucis Caelum dynasty was all about it, Luna's fate was sealed, Regis knew both he and his son would have to die (in a very brutal way to boot), and so on. Nobody gets what they wanted.

That's nice, except that most people wouldn't bother playing that. "Going on a road trip with your terminally ill buddy" might make for good film or literature but is not very entertaining in game form.

If Luna survived after the Levi fight, she could've healed Iggy's blindness too.

Okay? Ì´m in chapter 4 and around level 40. Won´t this event happen at all or will I just shred the enemy and don´t see it´s phases?

That's a good point. If it had been done that way I might not be so bothered by it. It's just that it goes from happy frolicking around Lucis to Altissa being annihilated in the span of an hour or two, and from there it only gets worse. With the story told that way, it felt like the party could have done something to avoid this, like taken another path. It felt like they just made a wrong turn somewhere and ended up with a 'bad end'.

Oh yeah you are already to high nvm. Yeah you are going to one shot them and miss out on all the cool contextual stuff that can happen

>miss out on all the cool contextual stuff that can happen
neo Sup Forums

Ikr if you do side shit the mains story is breeze
Can't wait for the NG+ and level limiter

What boss are you taking about?

It's garbage.

Visuals? Absolutely subpar. The fact that the character models for the main party only are actually pretty decent makes it all the more jarring. Nothing meshes well. Inconsistent visuals both during gameplay and in cutscenes (and with cutscenes, there's inconsistency with the in-game cutscenes, the pre-rendered in-game cutscenes, and the pre-rendered CGI cutscenes. Repetitive music. Characters with zero depth that get killed off almost immediately. Mostly awful dialogue. Repetitive, unimaginative environments. Story is an insulting mess from start to finish with borderline offensive jumps and skips. Summons are an "I win" cutscene rather than a real gameplay mechanic. Magic is the same.

I can only hope that the people praising this are shitposting or going through buyer's remorse that they will soon get over.

You're high enough to finish the entire game with your eyes closed

Ok that´s a bummer. Can you tell me which enemy you mean so I can search on Youtube after?

I am actually glad for the hint and kind of the point in playing RPGs.

If they go through with redesigning chapter 13 I hope they fix that as well

I spent all my gils for fancy car parts, colorful chocobos and food porn so I actually still kind of need healing items in combat because I skilled mostly in exploration, commands and other stuff. I might need a few levels in stats for that.

Completely agree especially with Luna's case. It's really hard to get any emotion from me during her death scene since we barely knew anything about her. They should've made her a party member from the start, helping out Noctis and co with the summons and shit. Heck even a few nights with her in Altissia would be enough as long as we get to know her character.

just finished the Pitioss secret dungeon holy shit that place went on and on and on

rekt

The whole concept of Versus XIII was an avant-garde, maturer Final Fantasy. You can't blame people for expecting something more "literary" and being disappointed.

I feel like somehow our media has collectively become more casualized/generic, which is somewhat paradoxical considering the internet and the rise of "nerd" culture should've theoretically had the opposite effect.

I think you can just equip items that the boss is strong against, now you do shit damage and the the fact that you're high level doesn't matter anymore except you'll not die as easily.

The target for the final boss is level 45 and you're still 10 chapters away from him.
You will never use those healing items

True. Chapters 14/15 are soul-crushing as is; imagine making a 40 hour game of that. Brotherhood 4 and Parting Ways show more of that depressing reality that the characters don't like to talk about and the atmosphere is flat out miserable.

Aranea
She is a classic dragoon with jumping and spears, if you go all DBZ and fight in the air theres a lot of shit that can happen.

I'm at chapter 5 with 30 ish hours. I really enjoy it so far but it can't beat VII.. By 30 hours VII had so much going on and the story was fantastic at every stop. XV is good and there's a lot of cool shit but I just don't have that same feeling about it, I'd give it a 8-8.5 right now.

The internet tends to eliminate any deeper discourse, unfortunately. Knee-jerk reactions, repeated soundbites, dismissal and poorly articulated outrage spread much easier than reasoned dialogue and more nuanced positions. Unfiltered information exchange is ironically making us angrier and dumber.

Anyone know how to slow down levelling in FFXV?

im level 30 ish and im getting exp for fucking every small thing, i stopped fighting because i feel like im going to over level, i was told theres an item you could get early on to slow down.

Final Fantasy XV fucking rules.

It's the best game in the series.
