Looks like Nost is going to absolutely destroy retail.

Yes Nost will absolutely destroy retail.
lol, i just opened this thread because of pic without reading and i literally posted the same shit as op, does it mean i am gay too?
>A small free to play private server for a small group of people who used to enjoy playing Vanilla is the thing having the most impact on WoW's sub numbers
>Proves this by linking WoW Census, infamous for its unreliability
Well at least you tried I suppose
youtube.com
Decided to check the most popular server on the eu data
>WE NEED YOUR HELP!
>Too few Alliance and Horde entries for this realm. Submit data today!
>Linking that "snappy" youtube video
Your post reads exactly like someone in GD.
nost will be popular for a few weeks to a at most a few months
then most people will realize blizzard was right
no sane person would play a vanilla server for any extended amount of time
the only people who actively play nost are dejected invalids and contrarians, which are pretty much the same thing
MMOs are dead, get over it
>rogue is 2nd least popular class
Really makes me think.
All that logic too much for you?
census had actually stable ~1.85m records for some time now, but after nost announcement its started to drop again, this will be below 1.8 in this week
Stop it already dumb nostbulls.
>more than half are elves and humans
Fucking disgusting.
>nost will be popular for a few weeks to a at most a few months
Old Nost was growing until the shutdown was announced. How many more times do people need to tell you this before it registers with your thick skull?
lmao, it will be below 1.8m tomorrow
>Nost is going to absolutely destroy retail
How the fuck do we stop these criminals, retailbros?
I have a hard time believing there are that many retards playing characters below 110 still.
We get it, you're a nostalgiafag. You don't like the new expac. You don't like all the improvements that have come over the years.
You're not going to siphon a significant chunk of the playerbase with these threads.
Yes let's make that leap of logic. It seems very appropriate even though only 25,000 have generated tokens for their old Nost characters many of whom probably haven't played retail for years
No I agree with you, Nost will not and did not have a huge impact on retail numbers. Then again it's not like many subs nowadays need much of a push to stop playing.
But yeah, your posts really does read like some obnoxious Redditor, I suggest you go back there.
I didn't know we were being raided by Neogaf.
>I have a hard time believing there are that many retards playing characters below 110 still.
The data is level 20-110.
Because I linked a video? This was the thing that triggered you?
I think you should take your own advice. I've never visited reddit before in my life
>no good data even for the most populated server
>BAAAAAAAAAAAAW WE ARE RAIDED IT'S NOT FAIR
Typical newfags that can't discuss something and simply resort to yelling buzzwords.
'growing' is vague and doesn't carry much weight
thats like saying eating glue is popular because two retards went from eating it to three retards
the active number of players never reached a number high enough to imply vanilla servers are nothing more than an extreme niche
even then, id be interested in seeing how many of the active players were just chinks or poor euroshits
It's because you linked a "ZINGER" video. Made me cringe.
Hold the fuck up
Do I belong to Reddit or Neogaf now?
I have never visited either. I wish I was kidding
>We get it, you're a nostalgiafag.
OP here. Actually I play FFXIV.
I just love seeing the tears of retailcucks.
IKR? I totally triggered this guy
>150k active players
>Extreme niche
A lot of MMOs would kill for 150k active players my man.
Where were the buzzwords or lack of discussion in those posts?
Go on point it out
OP made a retarded claim and people responded with flippant replies because we're fucking sick and tired of the moderators not banning these threads on sight
Nice falseflagging
150k out of the total global audience interested in playing MMOs is extremely niche
i dont know how you could possibly think otherwise
do you realize how small a number 150k is out of millions?
>we're fucking sick and tired of the moderators not banning these threads on sight
>WAAAAAAAH STOP TALKING ABOUT VIDEO GAMES AHHHHHHHHHHH SAVE ME MODS!!!
Grow the fuck up and hide the thread you pathetic, drooling Blizzdrone baby.
>Play FFXIV
Well you can go right back to you decent game right this minute.
Most the shit surrounding Nost is just false flaggers, while most Retail players (And Blizzard) don't care.
Why do midget races keep popping up if they're so unpopular?
>WoW Census, infamous for its unreliability
>[citation needed]
Shortstack fetish
That's 150k playing on an unofficial buggy ass private server overrun with chinks and ruskies. If legacy was available on an official blizzard server I'm sure it would get to atleast 500k playerbase on launch.
>do you realize how small a number 150k is out of millions?
Let's be generous and say retail has 3m active players, 150k is 1/20 of that number. That's not insignificant at all.
And like I said, every MMO on the market today besides WoW and perhaps FF14 would kill for 150k active players.
>Looks like Nost is going to absolutely destroy retail.
No it wont. People that play on retail don't care about vanilla. Retail is full of 2 types of people, people who are addicted to their characters and don't want to quit and new people who wouldn't know the difference between modern and vanilla.
The only thing that's going to damage retail is blizzard.
>If legacy was available on an official blizzard server I'm sure it would get to atleast 500k playerbase on launch.
Nah.
Why pay for something you could just play for free? Vanilla server wouldn't work for a company looking to make money unless its userbase was willing to be milked through a cash shop.
For the reasons I stated? No bugs from emulators and to get an english speaking playerbase. Not to mention better support and uptime.
Isn't this the thing that scrapes the armory? So it doesn't even look at the game, just a portion of their website that has been broken for years?
Primarily because most Private servers are unreliable, incomplete, and generally can be filled with chinks? Blizz support for a Legacy Server would blow Privates out of the water.
Memories, m8.
The game was also arguably much more MMO-esque, which is the best reason to play MMOs.
>No bugs from emulators and to get an english speaking playerbase.
So you believe that majority of that 150k will pay 14.99 a month to avoid all of that. What happens when there is a content drought, because that's inevitable. Do you start begging for TBC servers?
Retail is going to destroy itself. The current "content" consists of dailies, "more numbers" AOE dungeons that empower the insanely cancerous gearscore system, praying that you happen to get lucky and roll an upgraded version of the gear you already had to grind for, and literally just waiting for real-life weeks at a time for your class hall shit.
It doesn't help that the next patch is looking like a colossal clusterfuck that is radically revamping classes and specs, which wouldn't have been a problem if people hadn't already sunk months into their garbage artifact weapons, only to have the rug pulled out from under them for no apparent reason, possibly leaving you suddenly hating the class you just spent several months enjoying.
this is how sad nostfags are
you lessened the credit of your own claim by saying "overrun with chinks and ruskies"
i don't know how you could rationally come to the conclusion that your second sentence is true, either
>Let's be generous and say retail has 3m active players,
i'd say that is no where near generous. isn't it a few million more than that? even if we did run with that, monetarily speaking, isn't 1/20 significantly niche? i'd say so
would mcdonalds sell a burger only 1 in 20 people were interested in? probably not. that's enough to call something a 'niche' audience as is, despite your lack of generosity with sub numbers
>And like I said, every MMO on the market today besides WoW and perhaps FF14 would kill for 150k active players.
this statement means close to nothing.
also im p sure ff14 has more than 150k active players
>Content draught on a Legacy Server
Argument discarded.
According to the nost survey a large portion would pay that. The content in retail lasts quite a long time if they release the raids / content in the original timelines. After that could be TBC sure? But I think there's a lot of content in just vanilla, especially compared to nu-wow expansions.
Then they figure out how to make WPvP.
FFXIV has been sitting at 550k to 800k depending on how much you trust the censuses. They normally go by story achievements so the actual number of active subs is always higher than what the census lists.
Good rebuttal, because you don't have a legitimate response so you resort to shitty meme responses.
Yeah a content drought
What are you going to do once you finish Naxx? This isn't 2004, we're past the point of back peddling and finding an understanding in mechanics. WoW has been picked apart, we know just about thing there is to know. So assuming you're not a mentally challenged autismo with no friends, you clear the content as it's implemented at a rapid pace. Each time you're left with less to do. What then? Do you start alts and do it again. Hope on that PvP grind? I'm actually curious what your plans are.
The simplest solution to this bullshit is to set the servers up like a Diablo ladder. let it run for 6 months then wipe the server. Problem is blizzard is fucking lazy and that requires them to put effort into something.
>According to the nost survey a large portion would pay that.
Yeah like steam greenlight, right?
>Would you buy this game if it's greenlite?
How many do you figure actually do buy into it. I'm willing to bet it's not even half of those that say they would. People are fickle, often lie to get their way because they think they want something until they get it.
As much as a shit company blizzard is, they were right. You think you do, but you don't. At the end of the day you're begging for something that you can get for free and are ultimately better off with the annoyances. Do you really want to see modern blizzard handle vanilla?
...
>Retail has lost 150k active characters in the last week.
Why do you feel the need to discuss the player count? Are you some kind of business advisor?
Just play Nost if that tingles your dick and move on.
Nobody accused you of going to reddit you psycho.
Reminder
They would make money for next to no effort by releasing legacy servers and no amount of memeing will change it. It's worked for other games like runescape too. How much money is up for debate though.
Blizzard is always too prideful and stubborn so it might not even happen though.
Nost/pretbc is better than retail. I played retail for two months, raided, did arenas and M+. It's boring. I'd rather work really hard for one or two major upgrades than literally do ten quests for ten tiny upgrades.
>I don't like vanilla, therefore nobody can
Obviously Blizzard wants you to pay for the latest version, because they can't charge you $60 extra annually if all you're playing is classic. Some people prefer the RPG elements over the MMO elements. Is that so hard to grasp?
fuck off chink
Other classes.
>150k
literally nothing for a game which has 10 million players
>10 million
HA
that was when WoD launched or mid TBC
try 3 million
10m my ass. You know chinks who pay by the hour at internet cafes are counted in the sub numbers too? Pedro with 30 multibox accounts counts as 30 people etc. There's a reason they don't release sub numbers after WoD, shit was just embarrassing.
This
>Blizzard releases sub numbers for many years
>Stop as they begin to decline
>Blizzdrones believe they're just hiding impressively large sub numbers for no reason
why are you so mad that people could possibly enjoy nost?
I dont play retail or nost but it's always amusing to watch you spergs get mad over people enjoying things they shouldn't.
DELETE THIS
>Incoming legendary balance
>Nerfing the good ones instead of buffing the weak ones
Classic Blizzard.
How do you want to buff a utility one to compare to a big dps boost one?
People will always go for the big dps boost.
The legendary system is generally shit.
Always was.
>I don't like vanilla, therefore nobody can
Don't assume shit, I enjoyed vanilla. The difference is I'm not in denial, I understand how business works and I don't make judgement calls on emotion.
> Is that so hard to grasp?
No, but what does that have to do with anything I've said. The fact that you enjoy something is irrelevant. You are one person, the question is how many are like-minded? And how many of you aren't totally full of shit that you'll pay a monthly fee for vanilla.
SWG is having the same issue and the player base is losing interest. Do you know why? Because they have nothing left to do once all is said and done because they've done everything there is to do. They're just more forgiving because they're not paying a sub anymore.
I hope you get what you want, but I can fucking guarantee you it'll be nothing like you expect and you'll be over it in 3 months.
>Retailcucks
>Implying that letting cost deter you from anything you want to do isn't just being poorcucked
Get a job, you degenerate. WoW costs nothing compared to what your mother pays for your health insurance so you can get for your social anxiety medication.
Just make them useable in PvP, where the utility is actually really useful.
The gear curve is already so fucking retarded that a 110 can one-shot a 109, why not just go all the way with it
Pretty sure most dps ones would be really popular in PVP too.
Just balance them. If some are worse than other focus on bringing the bad ones up to the top bar.
Don't fuck over the good once to make sure all legendaries are equally unimpressive.
If the utility can be improved then improve it, if not then add a further damage component.
You say this like Blizzard is completely incapable of balancing their game without reducing it to near zero.
>Warrior without heroic leap
unplayable garbage.
Definitely, but at least the utility ones would have a viable purpose, rather than being literally 100% worthless. It would help to somewhat bridge the vast gulf of desirability that currently separates them, is all I'm saying.
How will they explain their gold selling this time?
>Just balance them.
How? The DPS ones will always have to add more DPS than the utility ones because they are pure DPS boost legendaries.
And if they increase the DPS they will be more desirable.
There is no balance to be had there.
The issue is that they made objectively superior DPS boost legendaries in the first place.
>Warriors in vanilla
>Unplayable garbage
kek
>Literally pay2win
What did he mean by this?
>How?
By making the utility stronger.
>>It has the name Nostalrius on the site page it must be run by them!
m8 a legendary that only procs on CC will never be proper utility when most encounters dont require that.
"just balance it" is not a proper response. The system is flawed at the core.
I will never understand how to find the important part in a Sup Forums screenshot
It's run by Chinks and Ruskies, with a few cuckold Euros that help them out because they are very progressive and racism isn't allowed lmao, you can't even tell the names of chinese people but it's ok just report them lol ;)
>would mcdonalds sell a burger only 1 in 20 people were interested in? probably not.
Yes, all day breakfast and CYT. They push that shit hard even though it's confirmed flop
>Spend years and years pruning utility and encounters that require utility, such as to no longer need class-specific utilities
>Make a bunch of legendaries that provide utilities, and they're fucking useless
Blizzard-Activision are full of geniuses, I tell ya.
What's great about that argument, in this case, is that the input cost for making a classic server is nothing compared to the cost of producing a new expansion. Server maintenance, and GMs, and that's it. And they've been doing that for years, too.
I'm not into gold trading, why they can't disclose why the customers are getting bonuses?
I don't know a single Death Knight right now who would pass on the movement speed legendary.
That's because it's useful.
It's not a DPS boost, it's just useful.
If the shaman healing roots were useful I'd be happy with them too. I don't know how you do that because I'm not a designer. Blizzard should know how to do that, besides nerfing every other legendary in the game.
Make the healing strong enough to ignore mechanics thus boosting your DPS.
The utility legendaries are fine in theory they just need a purpose for them to be desirable.
Some of them have no purpose.
Yes that necklace is shitty, it should be redesigned.
I don't think that means the good ones ought to be nerfed.
>1.8M (((((((((chinese gold farm bots)))))))
>retail
>more farm bots that a private server that is run on a shitty coded emulator
private server can literally generate gold while retailcucks have to buy gold from third world monkeys
I'm quitting legion to go back to Nost. Legion is so fucking soulless I couldn't stay interested after ilvl 850. Luckily my sub is up in a week so ya.
Are you seriously being proud of the fact that they have the ability to sell the gold directly? Are you seriously being proud of p2w?
Blizzard has sold gold officially in WoW for some years now, how out of the loop are you?
