What is objectively the greatest video game of all time?

What is objectively the greatest video game of all time?

Neverwinter nights.

My dick

Tetris

Sold more copies, made more income (across all releases), and is a better designed "all skill levels" experience than your favorite game

Bugdom 2

>objectively
you're asking for shitposting

but the best games ever made are:

Super Metroid
Tetris
Ghost Trick
Deus Ex
VtMB
Dark Souls
Super Mario Galaxy
MGS3
Cave Story

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Meme Run, amirite gamers

Would have to have played every game ever, the answer is The Last of Us

Final Fantasy 7

SMB3

Intuitive, can be learned quickly by new players

Sharp difficulty curve at the end

Varied environments

Shortcuts for knowledgeable/expert players

Multiple paths to take

Platforming perfection

Half Life 2

Super Mario vs New Wario Order

This

Tetris obviously

Mario Galaxy
Although personally it's not my favorite it's the most well rounded and is high quality by every metric (art, music, game play, variety, setting, etc.). A 3D platformer cant really get any better than Mario Galaxy, it's a perfection of the genre.

The Last of Us is an absolutely solid 6/10 game, nowhere near GOAT.
Great production values, great feel capturing the aesthetic of a Hollywood-tier zombie movie, great atmosphere in some parts like the opening scene. In these ways it's kind of unique amongst video games, but amongst ALL forms of media it's generic as fuck, and as a video game it's just an average third person shooter.

Why would you pick The Last of Us when Demon's Souls is an exclusive on the same console and a far, far, FAR better game?

I'd go with
Super Metroid
SMW
OoT

You forgot Resident Evil 4, m8.

Boku no Pico

Series: Pokemon
Single game: Skyrim (maybe remastered is better idk)

>best video game of all time
>waggle
LOL

(You)

>objectively

ok
So what's SUBJECTIVELY the best game of all time?

It's Contra.

>good gameplay
>good music
>coop multiplayer
>spread gun
>aliens
>badass characters

Literally the best game of all time.

...

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
>it's my favourite game
>it's objectively pretty good

Steambot Chronicles

>Does everything it set out to do.
>Doesn't need autism to enjoy.
>Intuitive but still deep.

otherwise

Pathologic

>Greatest story ever told
>Perfect atmosphere
>Leaves you empty, drained and depressed realizing that there will never be another game like this.

Final Fantasy 7 nigga

Dude Sex 1

>fantastic gameplay
>believable characters
>truly memorable plot
>graphics have aged pretty well in spite of the time it was released
You all know which game I'm talking about.

I think Counter Strike, Warcraft III or Fallout II all together constitute the greatest in their respective generes: FPS, RTS, WRPG

no mans sky

Objectively: Frogger
- Has puzzle elements
- Easy for beginners
- Introduces a character
- Many variables for replay-ability
- Progenitor of many games
- Allows multiplayer via score or true multiplayer depending on the entry
- Difficulty is just right for experienced players and at later levels
- Satisfying

Subjectively: Castlevania (SOTN is the preferred go to but any of them work)
- Added many nuances of RPG games
- Introduced a deep and flavored character (for the time)
- Introduced a true villain
- Unique progression style
- Varied enemies that range from bland/boring to exciting/fulfilling
- Satisfying controls and combat once learned
- Easy to pick up, hard to master
- Allowed many choices of story or continuation of story through serialization

Contenders for Objectively:
Tetris
Mario Bros
Legend of Zelda
Contra

Contenders for Subjectively:
Super Metroid
Crash Bandicoot/Nights into Dreams (For 3d platformer)
Mega-Man
Doom

As much as I like NWN, there were a fair few things wrong with it.

Tetris is all I can think of

reddit: the list of best video games

Breath of fire series, illusion of gaia, final fantasy series, souls series, golden sun 1, persona 4, bravely default, smash bros melee or wii u, mk double dash. A few from the top of my head

One of the few games ever made that can be considered art.
>plebs will deny this
Oher picks:
OoT
SM64
Half Life 2
ALTTP
Dark Souls
Super Metroid
Mario Galaxy
Mother 3
AOE II

Found the probably black weeb.

Thats me alright. Poor me, except i like all this gay shit and still get laid all the time. Balancing the weeb and pussy well

>Pathologic
This. I like your taste, Actor, Steambot Chronicles is another favourite of mine, Connie a cute.
The only thing I'd ever consider in contention is The Void, but I don't think there's too many people in these threads who've heard of it, let alone played it.

what is art?

>tfw majora's mask became overrated
>tfw remember when it used to be the underrated black sheep of the series
it will always be the underdog zelda game in my heart along with the oracle games

Quake 1

If that's the game you associate all those qualities with then you have shit taste, I'm sorry to say.

Nigger I love Majora's Mask but you are absolutely retarded if you think it comes close to being a perfect game

As for the actual answer to OP's question it's Super Metroid, it will always be Super Metroid

It's a flawed masterpiece.

It's probably bloodborne OP

Devil May Cry 3:SE

Morrowind

Tetris

RE4 literally has no flaws gameplay wise.

warcraft 3
starcraft
street fighter III 3rd strike
vampire savior
battle garegga
snow bros
strikers 1945
bubble bobble

>"Hey fellow spanish cultists, when you run up to the guy with the gun make sure you stop a few feet in front of him and then start slowly shuffling around. Apparently he's too stupid to work out how to shoot and move at the same time so it's only fair we make it easy for him."

Yeah, sure, no flaws at all...

Why dos girl have dog collar?

The one where you get to titfuck Tsukushi

I'd personally say Silent Hill 1 or 2, but I know that some people will disagree with me because it isn't focused on gameplay. If I must choose something with a greater focus on gameplay I'd choose Symphony of the Night, DMC 3, or dark souls 1 or bloodborne

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Prove me wrong
