What is the most Initial D racing game out there?

What is the most Initial D racing game out there?
Drift Stage looks interesting but >indie dev, it'll never be released
Dirt Rally so far has been pretty sweet and can't wait to get just that little bit better
Might pick up the new forza horizon but not sure if its Initial D enough.

Been in the mood for some racing lately but I can't be arsed to get my wheel set up for rFactor.

There have been numerous Initial D games. My arcade has four machines of I think arcade Stage 4. They're pretty sweet you get one of those little memory card things to save your progress and upgrade your car by winning races.

Ok, OP. Yesterday I sought out to do exactly what you are doing. I learned fuck all but I installed the Forza Horizon demo and it was infuriating with long ass unskippable cutscenes and muscle cars that can't drift for shit.
Though I think the full game does have the AE 86 and the RX-7 in it so that is pretty cool.

Drift Stage is kinda fun but it is crowdfunded and almost 2 years behind schedule, though I hear they were gonna be up on Steam this month or some shit.

Does anyone know of a fucking video game I can drift in an 86 in?

Initial D?

What racing wheel do you have? I'm thinking of buying one but the start investment is quite high. Friend of mine told me to not bother unless you drop 300 bucks for a proper setup

There are actual ID games? I should check them out then

An arcade near me has one of these, though I think it is the 3rd Arcade Stage, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to not fuck it up.

Burnout Paradise

Dirt Rally is like a love/hate relationship. I absolutely love that its actually quite hard to control the cards, but sometimes I just want to jump in and go fast/drift without insane difficulty.

Haven't tried it yet but Grid 2 looks very fun
youtube.com/watch?v=fGVXuO5gNH4

GRID is not all about drifting but nonetheless drifting is great, driving is a perfect match between arcade and simulator. You can adjust some realism options, there's a mode where you race downhill/uphill with a rival and you get penalties for touching him. And you can drive AE86 and GTR

Yep, and a few of them have been adapted for home consoles. PS3 has en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Initial_D_Extreme_Stage

Dont know about arcade but I once watched a gameplay of some ps3 Initial D game and it looked awful, there wasnt even any music

this

also the japanese drift track announcer is a crack-up

Initial D Arcade Stage you dumb motherfucker.

G27. It's good enough. I don't really have a decent way to set up the shifter though so I can only use paddles.

If I'm honest I was a little disappointed with the build quality for what it cost, so I wouldn't want to risk anything much less. It's definitely not an investment I'd encourage unless you're really in to it.

forgot one good link

Is drifting a huge money sink IRL? I assume you need to buy new tyres all the time.

How is the difficulty on a scale of mariokart-asserto?

yeah dude extremely realistic bro truly this is Initial D tm

although now that I think about it, initial D is also unrealistic

I should get AC but I don't like the seemingly jewy dlc.

should I pick up GRID2 or GRID MOTORSPORT?

>those gorgeous downhill races set in the autumn season of japan.

I honestly don't understand why more racing games aren't set in japan, past import tuner.

The current need for speed game is perfect. It has the 86 in it. All you gotta do is set the driving style to slides for days and with the tap of your break pedal you're sliding around corners at 500 mph in your little delivery coupe

>yeah dude extremely realistic bro truly this is Initial D tm
are you having a stroke

I feel you. I'd love to hone my skills but that's kind of not fun with a controllee. It's honestly the only racing game where I feel I can't use anything but a wheel

Any good open-world racing or just driving games?
As a reference, I can run Test Drive Unlimited (1) at 80C at lowest graphics; keyboard controls kinda suck.
Anything enjoyable, plz?

no sleep finals week running on coffee. sorry bruh

open world racing games are a meme

I want a remake of this. I used to enjoy it but then I couldn't get on in my region and then I think it shut down entirely.

>The current need for speed game is perfect.
It's garbage, along with your taste in games, your overpriced Corolla and your inability to use the correct form of "brake."

Outrun 2006 Coast2Coast is alright for a while, not open world though.

Having a set number a track inevitably become boring. It's like comparing a normal randomized tetris game with a one, wherein you get the same piece sequence each time.

Uh, well I mean I don't know if you can run most of these but Test drive unlimited 2 is pretty damn fun even with its shortcomings, need for speed 2015, burnout paradise (although a lot of people hate that one even though you can squeeze many fun out of it) and for a horizon 3 which you definitely won't be able to run

having an open world means every race course looks and feels the same and allows for much less variation in environment and difficulty

Alright man. Whatever makes you sleep at night. Just giving the man a suggestion on a game where you can do impossible slides like the anime.

Rfactor has Initial D mod and lots of touge maps. Great in single player but even better in multiplayer.
youtube.com/watch?v=J31jWbpXBTc

I'd rather have a few properly designed race tracks than a lot that are just checkpoints randomly dotted around copypasta streets.

Never played much realistic racing games but I can tell you it's a really versatile game. You can turn off all realism and turn it into NFSU2 with drifting on japanese streets, or turn on things like no ABS, wheels spin, fpp-only mode and race with F1 cars

>The current need for speed game is perfect
No. That game is utter trash and should be treated as such.
No racing game that uses rubber banding as a difficulty slider should ever be put anywhere near a bracket considered "good".

wait for sales, it usually goes up to 75%

Started GRID Autosport last night. GTX 1080 pumps it out maxed with 2x msaa at 90fps 4k, what a great experience.

GRID is my favorite racing game of all time, and this one is shaping up to be pretty good too. What do you guys think of GRID? And is DiRT Rally worth the asking price? I loved 3

why do racing games always look slow as shit when vieuwing them from an ingame montage, but when you're driving from the driver point of vieuw even driving normal is turbo

Well, I want replayability, I get bored really fast.
I guess you could say, I prefer a driving game to a racing one. I hated audiosurf because you can't see what ahead, MySummerCar was fiddle-y and annoying as all hell,Dream Car Racing 3D crashed and was annoying to get running normally, etc.

Like I said to the other guy. Don't care about the rest of the game. The man wants to be takumi and nfs 2015 happens to do a decent job of that

Dirt Rally is THE sim right now in my opinion, has a whole load of cars, customization and really huge difficulty powergap based on speed/cars, so theres always a way to improve. Every car handles differently as well.

but
youtube.com/watch?v=5xw8DJY7aZQ

ID games drive like dog shit on rails.

Euro Truck Sim?

fuggin dagumi

>tfw no street racing bros

so you are either autistic and/or ADHD

i figure you'd get bored faster driving through 20km of FUCKING NOTHING than just picking a race and playing

you say you prefer driving games but my soummi summer karreh is the definition of a driving, not racing, game, audiosurf is a rhythm game

There's no less "replayability" in the former. The fun in racing games, long term, is perfecting your laps.

It's been 3 weeks since Youtube killed EUROLOVERS off.

Considered it, but navigating a lumbering hunk of metal around a city and driving straight across country roads the rest of the time was fiddle-y and resp. boring. No speed, no obstacles.
I just have a clear vision of what I want from the game. Summer karreh had mechanics that inhibited gameplay- building a fucking car, thirst/hunger/piss/shit meters, I mean, I don't wanna play a real life simulator..

Neat, how long will these links last? I'll download em once I upgrade from 600kb/s to 100mb/s

>300 different mixes for Night of Fire but none of them are the extended version

Which SEB albums are best?

But are any of them the Christmas version?

all of them

That's nothing my man. If you ever get the chance, take your car to track. I have 1,4 liter peugeot shitbox and let me tell you, shit was fucking crazy. Felt like the whole car would tip over because the body roll was insane when cornering. Then I looked at the footage my friend filmed and it looked like I was barely moving.

Anyone?

GRID 2 has touge. The choice is obvious

>can't comfy rally race multiplayer on Dirt Rally
>only fucking rallycross
I mean, I just want to drift and chill with friends as we bash eachother into the trenches, why not?

Sonic all-stars racing transformed has sick drift and nice beats.

Might buy grid2 now, looks like a fun arcade racer, is the reloaded edition worth it for all the DLC?

Burnout Paradise looks p good

Might want to get the base game first and then grab the dlc on sale later.

Actually I think I'll just wait for the xmas sale, I got 18 buckeroos on my steam account so might as well be patient and just play some dirt
