Was the GameCube Nintendo's peak? Their franchises had their best games on it.
>Double Dash
>Prime
>Sunshine
>PoR
>TP/WW
>Melee
What made the Cube so good?

>all of those except Melee
>"peaks" of anything
Nah.

>can't even name ten games
if anything it was nintendo at its worst because they just made some shitty niche games apart from a few gems that you can count on one hand

Because I'm only naming Nintendo's games, no 3rd parties. And even then leaving out games like Pikmin, TTYD, Pokemon Coliseum

>>Double Dash
No
>>Prime
Yes, ex aequo Super Metroid
>>Sunshine
Lol, no
>>PoR
Maybe
>>TP/WW
No
>>Melee
Yes

>sunshine and prime not the peak

Sunshine is garbage

>no motherfucking F-zero
FUCK YOU.

no. it was the beginning of their fall.

It's fucking amazing

Sega made that. l0l

that's because there were no 3rd party games.

>gamecube
>not snes

Gamecube was great tho desu senpai

That's what I mean, niche games
It was a console for kids and a few drones who prefer the quirk value of modern nintendo rather than classic games that are actually good

Of the 3d generation, I feel gamecube has been the strongest so far. The Thousand Year Door, Melee, and Prime all were phenomenal, and almost every first party game hit the mark.

Compared to what?

Are you insane? GC was classic games that are good: the console

Real mario games

Gamecube
>classic games
Go away gamecube babby

Name one.

>best 3D Mario
64
>best Mario kart
DS
>best smash
GC
>best Zelda
64
>best paper Mario
GC

Can't say it's peak of all those series but it's a great console and dolphin means it's games will live on forever and are more accessible than any of their other platforms

Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario Land
Super Mario World

The only good exclusive games on the GC are Prime and the first Pikmin.

N64 Zeldas are better than the animu feels crap TP/WW. Mario 64 is better than Sunshine and the Smash Bros on the N64 is better too.

N64 was the peak.

>SMB2 and SML
>real mario games
pick one

I love all of those games, user.

And I do think they're better than Sunshine.

But sunshine is hardly the same type of game, and saying that it is garbage compared to those seems a little misunderstood.

nope. the only good thing on gc was melee and GX

>smash 64 was better than Melee
the epitome of shit taste
it certainly was great though

>This entire thread

I see it's contrarian shitposter time on Sup Forums again Silly me, that's all the fucking time

>But sunshine is hardly the same type of game
That's the problem, really. Part of why the gamecube failed is it had no classic games unless you want to count metroid prime

Not at all. Nintendo peaked with SNES. GC was great only in it's first year, then dried up immediately afterward.

If you don't count SNES, Nintendo peaked with DS, but 3DS is virtually up there at this point in it's library.

>best paper mario
>GC
that's weird how you spelt 64 with letters instead of numbers.
Paper mario 1 is definitely the more fleshed out game, the only thing that TTYD has on 64 is the Partner dialogue and post game content.
>Muh glitz pit
the only GOOD chapter of TTYD. everything else is mediocre to terrible.

I would say Nintendo peaked at the SNES
Personally I prefer the N64, though the GC is tied for second with the SNES in my book.

>What made the Cube so good?
60 FPS standard on most of its good games.

>double dash
>tp/ww

Teh GamCube had a lot of decent multiplat support, at the same time as playing host to some of Nintendo best experiments and best franchise entries.

And it had pic related. One of the few Nintendo console expansion worth a damn to the end user.

Playing Pokémon Blue for the first time on mine these days.

All in all a great console. Except for the fucking memory cards.

>Chapters 4 and 5
>mediocre and terrible
it's like you hate fun or something.
I loved the Doopliss and and Cortez arcs

I enjoy being a hipster tool with reddit memes too

Not him, but early GC is a mixed bag for that. Sunshine was a dumbed down, (partially cuz rushed) 64, SF Adventures wasn't wanted, WW was dumbed down from Majora's Mask and relied on gimmicks. The gimmick side of Nintendo was prominent here, probably because these were their "broad appeal" games.

However, Prime is probably one of the greatest games of all time imo, alongside Melee and FZero GX. This was from the polish and gamer-centric area. They didn't really try up the ante like these games did ever again in all honesty.

fuck, I regret selling mine

>Teh

Yes, but some Sup Forums users will instinctively try to contradict you because of the meme that OP is always wrong and a faggot.

If the OP was like "Was the GameCube the worst Nintendo console?", then everyone would say that it's the best one.

I think a lot of OoT/MM fans that had just turned 14 skipped it entirely because they thought Wind Waker looked like "kiddy shit", and when Twilight Princess eventually came out, they bought a Wii instead.

And naturally a lot of disillusioned Rare fans never got around to getting one either, without Perfect Dark Zero on the horizon.

All this without managing to appeal to any new crowds either.

Yeah, I messed up the very first word and didn't notice. I think I need to go to bed. It's rather late here.

Taht's a pretty common typo, my dude.

You sold off just the player or the whole shebang?

I believe it was even a standard for silly memespeak at one point. But that's like fifteen years ago.

>Of the 3d generation
You mean the NES don't you?
