Great Commandos game set in Japan.
Why is nobody talking about it?

It seems too slow paced to be a hit among modern audiences
Might buy it on sale
I'd like to think that the people that have enjoyed it so far are just playing it instead of talking about it here
though there seems to be at least on decent sized thread a day about it, from what I've seen
also, it's awesome
Too weeaboo.
>letting the setting detract from the gameplay
you're missing out
Alright, fine: Sell me on the game with using the letter s or the word "the."
It looks quite ugly. Why did they have to go with cheap 3D? Even just decent 2D art would be way better.
but the setting is great and has nothing to do with anime
>this same thread
>every day
Really makes you think why nobody is talking about it, huh.
it's a western game
The guy who said Aioks sneezing powder is uselss yesterday is out of his mind.
>two guards who overlook each other
>sneak up to one from behind
>thow powder at the other
>kill the unaffected one and drag him off
>the sneezing guy didn't notice a thing
>unlimited uses
That shit's overpowerd as fuck.
Because 3D takes less money and time to make.
>Might buy it on sale
This. It's just too expensive for me.
tactical operator action
elaborate murder operation
cart, bull, rock
considering commandos and shit were just prerendered 3D, not really
being able to rotate the camera is better though
I'm fine with the setting
I'm just saying that not playing a good game because of the setting or the story is limiting
rock is better in most circumstances, sneezing powder is only good if they're quite far away
>$40
no
because the graphics aren't important to the game
>It's just too expensive for me.
You can buy it physical.
40$ for 25 hours of solid game time
How is that not good value for money?
speaking of:
did anyone else use the sneezing powder to get Mugen past the first samurai in the temple level?
Fair enough. I'll give it a purchase then on gog
or you can pirate it
the amount of people complaining about the price of single player pc games never ceases to amaze me
Rock doesn't work on the straw hat guys and samurai though.
It seems they forgot to region lock the keys, so you can buy cheap BR keys.
yes it does
>or you can pirate it
I don't need to pirate, I'm not a poor third worlder.
I never really liked Commandos in the first place.
I mean I can see they're good games, but they're not for me.
Why are their heads so small?
what causes this anyway?
>Great Commandos game set in Japan.
It's not like Commandos, more like Robin Hood Legends or Sherwood or Desperados.
Waiting on the console port
which are like commandos
>Why is nobody talking about it?
There's a daily thread, usually more, depending on how active and willing devs are feeling to shill their game
I think you're going to be waiting awhile, user
I don't really see how this could be played on a controller
God, you suck, kid.
Throw rock AT the guy and he'll get confused for a bit.
Throw shuriken at the samurai and he'll get confused for a huge time.
The game was presented and promoted as a game on all platforms and they even had PS4 demos at conventions.
I mean, the notion is weird for me considering the genre but it's a multiplatform game.
It's available for purchase on PS4/Xbone on the official website.
Played it for the first time with Dual shock 4 yesterday, not sure I can go back to keyboard.... Godlike UI in this game
It's fun but it just feels lacking in content
Only 5 characters in total, small levels and only 4 skills/items per character
Yuki is cute, CUTE
I've been playing on PC my whole life so I'll pass but it's nice to hear they have a workable control scheme on consoles.
Hopefully, they can get enough sales over there to offset the porting costs (the genre is practically non-existent on consoles maybe except for X-Com).
Commandos?
Like Desperados style, WW2 setting Commandos?
Where do I sign.
it's really slow so far and i'm like 2 hours in
Dear God what do you faggots need before you're willing to enjoy a masterpiece? You realize this is the FIRST game in this series?
The replayability alone doubles the value you see at first glance. I've played some levels 4 times trying different methods and going for different badges
You have to go back, cakeboy.
There's usually not even 4 different methods and paths in a level. If there is it's very minor things
Get the demo, then you can impulsively buy the full game.
Progress carries over (the second mission is timed though).
Look up the definition of weeaboo. It used to be a wordfilter for wapanese, because it got so bad on Sup Forums that everyone kept calling each other waps.
This game is the definition of wapanese
>weeaboo
... is someone who's so obsessed over Japan s/he thinks it's some sort of perfect magical wonderland.
Playing a game with Napoleon in it does not make you an obsessive lover of France.
>using the reddit bastardization of weeaboo
lurk for 2 years before posting
the levels take like two hours each and there's 13 and there's no filler levels
Funnily enough there's actually a disorder that mostly Japanese people get while going to France.
loved the demo but how long is the game? is there a lot of levels?
13 levels all roughtly 1-2 hours long.
Then there are the badges that you can get and harder difficulties.
Mainly because they're tedious and quite hard. They're still small with few options
If you're uncreative I suppose. Since badges require you to play differently (no kills, no hiding in bushes, etc.) They play totally different and force you to learn new play styles
how can they be tedious and too small at the same time? would you prefer the same amount of enemies spread out over a map twice the size?
>I want huge open empty areas so I can feel like I'm going further geographically with less challenge
What's the point of that?
I think I'm only halfway through the mission. Fucking hell. But I love it. The satisfaction you get after clearing an area feels fantastic.
the final mission was a real letdown compared to all the others, the final section was completely linear and easy and controlling the camera scaling the big fortress was wonky
>the final section was completely linear and easy
Yeah I'm noticing that too now. The beginning was so much harder.
DONT KILL ANYONE
DONT USE AIKO SKILLS
Doing my speed runs and done them all up until Kyoto, really struggling on a strat for this one but getting there.
Haven't been so engrossed in a game in years, I really missed commandos more than I knew.
Commandos 3 being shitty made me forget.
>DONT KILL ANYONE
Holy shit.
>dont step on any puddles
>realize too late you accidentally stepped on one half an hour ago and all your quicksaves have been overwrritten
Controller support is surprisingly good.
oh hey did you forget about me, im still here
Ghosting missions requires some ridiculous shit you would have never thought possible otherwise
I spent hours ghosting the night city kidnap mission only to find out there wasn't a badge for it
so what language are you guys playing with?
>13 levels
>some are huge
>all those badges to earn
>have to play different each time
Characters compliment each other, I find myself using them in sync more than I ever did with commandos which was spy + one person to kill whenever you had the spy or just soloing with one character if not, gun spam etc that everyone can do.
Could do with one or two characters to shake it up more but I prefer the smaller pool of abilities.
...
Don't.
>Ghosting missions requires some ridiculous shit you would have never thought possible otherwise
It really opens up when you start trying different stuff, doing the speedruns makes you come up wit strategies you would never have thought would work the first time you did the mission.
That was satisfying.
It would be a real shame if someone were to change
it's easy one of the best game this year.
too bad /v play only shit game like ff15.
>small with few options
You need to experiment more.
>Why is nobody talking about?
There's a thread for it daily.
your favorite series into a fps
They die pretty quickly.
As far as Sup Forums likes shitpost about the good old days this game should be right up its alley.
...
>Sup Forums
>good old days
its already full of millenials that think CoD is greatest game ever
>Commandos game
>Why is nobody talking about it?
gee i truly wonder
English. The characters always say shit relevant to the level you're in while you give them commands and I enjoy the acting
YES. I've found it hard to put my finger on why I love this game so much... I was a kid when I first played Commandos and I never cared how abusive and shallow my strategies were, but this game is forcing me to learn real strategy and teamwork
I think the smart posters are also the ones who don't spam arguments and memes for hours and thus keep threads "alive" so long
>set in Japan
Why do they look Chinese?
>English
Kill yourself
>Why is nobody talking about it?
This game has been shilled on Sup Forums literally every day since launch.
>one of the few games I care to 100%
I want to get the Steam achievements as well but they're broken.
Stoned Ox (Kill a guard with an ox) and Too Early (Get shot while carrying an explosive barrel) don't unlock for me.
>mission where I have to escape from a prison
>think i'm done when I reach mugen
>there's another half of a level to go past
Outside of killing everyone I don't even know what to do anymore with this level.
>new game that barely anyone knew about
>spiritual successor that lives up to the name
>one or two threads a day
Muh shilling.
I tried japanese but it's just too fucking anime for my taste that way.
>not appreciating takuma Nip va
>sad about Mugen
>try to roleplay and just get out guns blazing
It was Yuki's VA that was a deal-breaker for me.
off to a flying start
I'm hoping to get it along with Warhammer Total War during the Christmas sale. I briefly played one of the Commando games while I was younger, but I fear those are now way too old and clunky to be played comfortably in modern systems, so the fact that this is basically a modern version of one has caught my attention.
Besides Japanese The End up there was cool as hell in the first mission.
Holy shit taste
Because Sup Forums only talks about AAA cinematic experiences, 4thaplaya or weebshit panty faggotry with no gameplay.
