Did TB actually said that?
It doesn't fit him to say it.
Nobody knows if they're going to be 100% satisfied with a game and want to keep it forever. For me, that group is only a few games. Paying top dollar for something with an incentive that's ultimately worthless if the game itself is mediocre is classic consumerist mentality, by being told what you're going to like and how much you're going to pay for it. Most games can wait for your money, be bought for significantly less, and then traded at a reasonable rate for other games. Pre-ordering is particularly nefarious now that more games are being withheld from critics until after the game is released, at which point the publishers don't care because they've already got enough money from dumb asses.
Look at Deathwing for why you shouldn't preorder.
Very buggy launch.

A small detail, but it annoys me
>Says pre-order is bad
>means pre-purchase is bad
>everyone now hates pre-orders even tho you can cancel a pre-order.
>If you put money down you can get it back
>everyone now thinks pre-order and pre-purchase are the same.
>TB is a cunt
Steam's refund policy means there's no downside to pre-ordering though. If you don't like it or it runs like shit just get your money back.
gondola was not a mistake!!
Except for the part where lots of games end up being shit and you don't want to reward developers for developing shit.
>visa checkout preorders made every game %50 off
it teaches publishers that they can make money off a game without even releasing it, which is obviously a dangerous concept.
