Getting every weapon isn't nearly as time consuming as it is to upgrade all of them.

From what I remember, you need finish ending A and B before you can get one of the last few weapons. Just follow a guide and decide if you want to kill yourself grinding to upgrade em all.

I'm not sure whether it's inspired by DMC's Hell or Hell mode, or bullet-hell shmups where every bullet spells instant death (or both), but Very Hard mode makes every attack, including every single red orb bullet, an instant OHKO.

Also (and nobody really talks about this), Hard Mode disables lock-on. The ability to automatically aim the pod with L2 is exclusively a Normal Mode ability (since on Easy Mode, L2 activates the Auto Chip)

It's easier than it sounds. There are some grindy quests you'll need to do, but the world isn't huge, and most of the weapons are found in two or three shops.

The weapon stories aren't even in-game this time. The only reason to upgrade every one of them is if you're OCD about achievements.

Weapon stories are 100% confirmed returning, INCLUDING weapon stories for all the crossover weapons. Yosuke Saito even pointed out how Engine Blade's Weapon Story will essentially be "FFXV if it was written by Yoko Taro". They even got the creators of the crossover franchises to approve the WSes meaning Taro's lunacy will officially infect the canon of all those universes.
