What games do you consider complete packages in terms of content amount, gameplay, music, story, and character?
What games do you consider complete packages in terms of content amount, gameplay, music, story, and character?
Any game that doesn't have day 1 DLC/Season Passes, no micotransactions, nor planned expansions. Game is lengthy or has enough content to justify the price, that isn't made up of hours of cutscenes or nothingness.
Tactical games like FFT, Fire Emblem and Adance Wars have lots of content and replay value
...
Good pick.

Oddworld is the only dead series I have any interest of seeing revived. I loved every game, Munch included.
The most accessible game in the Series, stranger's wrath is also one of the best shooters ever. Flawless in its execution apart from a garbage final boss.
Kid Icarus Uprising
Bayonetta
Monster Hunter
Advance Wars
Agree on all those.
Also pic related, holy fuck the replayability, the unlockables, the fucking extra stuff like the encyclopedia.
Pic related is one of my favorites because of how perfectly full it feels. Just the right amount of content, playtime, characters, enemies, story, music, areas, fucking everything. It's a purely refined experience.
Okami
One of the most amazing things I had seen when I fought Orochi and then Issun said "Hey Ammy, there's still like 8 brush techniques left to learn!"
The beastiary in Mother 3 is pretty awesome. I like how you can get both front and back sprites of enemies recorded on it. Some enemies are tough to attack from behind so it feels like an extra challenge in the game if you're completionist.
Also the whole OST is on the sound test of the game, all 200 tracks or so.
Loved the weighty platforming, fantastic level design, and great challenege. Most fun in a Nitendo game I've had in literally years.
I've tried three damn times now to get into the Wonderful 101 and I just can't. The controls and camera seem to fight against me all the time. Plus, levels seem really fucking long.
...
I mean, even without the whole Animal Crossing, you've still got a collection of near 20 classic NES games on it.
TF is the best 2d platformer ever made.
Truly incredible in every way
Okami for me too, the whole world feels really full and vibrant. There's just so much content and quests and collectibles
Bayonetta 2 is probably the most sound game I've ever played. Everything worked incredibly well.
I picked it up the other day, gonna play it next week once I'm off. Can't fucking wait, been wanting to play it for years.
love the flow of the combat in that game, flows better than the first game imo
You're gonna need that week m8, no fucking joke. Enjoy.

Since you don't normally control the camera in W101 outside of the gamepad segments, it's easiest to just hit L to put it to the highest zoom out and let it stay there. When you're in the gamepad segments, you can hold R to use the right stick to move the camera normally.
As for controls, don't use the touchscreen. Use the right stick to draw the shapes, and treat it like doing joystick movements in a fighting game. You don't need huge circles or lines or whatever in most cases, especially once you get Speed Liner to make things a lot faster.
And yeah, the levels are pretty damn long, especially compared to stuff like Bayonetta or MGR:R. I think W101 is Platinum's longest game to date, at least when it comes to a single campaign playthrough, and that's not even getting into all the secret missions and characters and other shenanigans. Even the boss levels are pretty ridiculous the first time you play them, but they get easier the more you learn their tells.
W101 is a game that rewards the time you put into it. The controls especially are very different from other games in the same vein, but once they click, it feels as smooth as silk.
And the entire final Operation is the best two hours I've had in my entire gaming life. Goddamn that everything.
Disagree on it being better than 1, but it and 1 are jam packed with quality and content.
Factually the only problem I had with this game, and why I had to drop it after 76 hours of pure enjoyment was the horrendous load times, jesus christ you can fuck up once, lose the chance at platinum and then spend years killing yourself over it.
Ghost Trick.
I feel that everything else in Bayonetta 2 apart from the high end combat was done infinitely better, personally. Especially the overall aesthetic, story, level design, music and characters
Okami is the only thing I've ever played that felt like at least 2 1/2 games lashed together into one.
I can definitely feel you there.
The load times, the lack of decent checkpoints sometimes, and 006-B's SHMUP stage are really the only things I can find fault with in W101.
The checkpoints in particular bug me, since Bayonetta did them pretty well, and MGR had pretty much perfectly placed checkpoints, but W101 doesn't for no good reason.
Also while I like being able to replay Kahkoo-Regah's for better rankings, unlike in Bayonetta, where you only get one shot without retrying the stage or quitting and loading back in, it always irked me that dying in a KR counted as a death for your end-stage total.
Close to perfect as it gets to me.
>Immorta has white skin and no third eye in the last pannel
DROPPED
...
I didn't draw it, don't blame me.
Though from the angle you could argue you just can't see the third eye.
She needs a disguise, she's an alien and he's got a secret identity to maintain.
What I can't see is Red being that forward. It would take some elaborate shenanigans by Vorkkan to get them on a date.
Honestly, I think it's just that I really want the game to play like Bayonetta 2, which I loved the shit out of. It just feels a lot slower and more based on resourced management with your battery bars and whatnot. Still, your response makes me want to give it one more fair chance and really learn the mechanics. Been meaning to fire up my Wii U again.
>Content
Ridiculous amount of Content, each of the games in this really do feel like little self-contained games. Even the Sub-Games are good in this one.
>Gameplay
Kirby gameplay is always fun, and this game has quite a few variations on the basic formula to keep you entertained. The True Arena and some other bits of the later games you unlock are decently challenging too.
>Music
Classic, simple as that. Also it's got a sound test.
>Story
Outside of DEEPEST LORE, it doesn't really have a full on narrative, but a game like Kirby really isn't about Story so much as it is charm and fun gameplay. What story is there is perfectly fine though.
>Character
I love the way everything in this game looks, this entire series just oozes charm in it's characters and settings.
Overall probably my 9 in my Top 10 Games of all time.
There's a really helpful infograph that really put me in the right mindset to blast through w101. Someone should post that.
My GOTY for last year
I don't think she needs a disguise at all after the events of Wonderful 101. Aliens are a well known thing at that point.
Agreed on Red though, he's pretty shy and humble outside of combat.
is it worth it to play the extended edition or whatever they're calling it?
Definitely the most content-rich Pikmin game. Wish they didn't put so much focus on caves, though.
Wonder Red is unironically one of my favorite video game protagonists and my absolute favorite Kamiya protagonist.
>Always, ALWAYS says the full title for everyone
>Has a stupidly accurate memory and is super keen on the details
>Competent and quirky, humble around the team but also isn't afraid to put his foot down
>One of the most justified characters in seeking revenge and has one of the best opportunities for it in a story about revenge, but chooses to pass it up to keep civilians safe, this is done at the beginning of the game but isn't even contextualized until about 2/3 into the game
It's definitely slower than Bayonetta, though not by much.
The main thing is that you can't take a hit to deliver a hit of your own, since getting hit by anything not only does damage, but scatters your team, so you've got to play a bit more defensively than in Bayonetta if you want to do well, at least early on. There's a good reason for that dedicated block button.
Once you get about halfway through the game, though, you'll unlock new Custom Blocks that give you Witch Time literally, sound effect and all and the counter effect from the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa, which let you be a bit more aggressive. There's also Ukemi, which you should definitely use a credit card on ASAP, since it lets you completely negate most damage if you can time it right, and that can save your Pure Platinum attempts.
There is a bit of battery management, though for the most part, all it does is incentivize against using 100-man morphs all the time. 10 or 25-sized are good enough for most things, especially if you start using Multi Morphs. Plus, if you need some energy, you can use basic health and energy items without suffering a decrease in rank, so there's no shame in topping off your energy meter when you really need it. You can also grab a custom block pretty early that makes it recharge faster, and Attack Liner can also help with keeping it charged.
That one mega man game for the psp where you can play as literally every boss
Holy shit that game had a lot to do. Probably the most content I've ever seen in a game
...
The Aventures of Lolo 3. It had over 3 times as much content as the first 2 games and like 2 or 3 fake endings.
Appreciate the tips, dude. I'll keep that in mind when I play it again.
...
Sounds good. Don't give up this time.
There are a few parts that can be aggravating, especially on one's first time through the game, but it's definitely worth the time you put into it. I'm not sure how far you got in it the last times you tried, but you've got a bunch of stuff to look forward to, no doubt. Aside from the entirety of Operation 009, there's the Punch-Out boss fights, some very clever gamepad sections, and even hidden characters to obtain, including some recruits straight from Bayonetta.
Also don't forget that W101 likes its secrets, and a fuckton of them. Expect Bayonetta 1 levels of hidden things, here. Backtrack whenever possible, Wonder-Line anything suspicious, including holes in the walls, holes in the floor, anything circular you see, and any kind of patterns on the ground. If a pattern glows when your Wonder-Line moves over it, try to replicate the pattern with your Line for something hidden. There's also hidden platforms that you can't see thanks to the static camera that you can reach with the Bridge or Ladder morphs.
And once you get Hammer, you can start finding treasures using that as well, so getting the Treasure Sensor from the shop at that point is very helpful.
Either way, expect to not get everything on your first run, Much like Bayonetta, you're going to be using your first playthrough to get used to enemies and their tells, especially bosses, as well as upgrading yourself to fight more optimally and get new toys to play with.
Prince Vorkken is also one of the best rival characters.
I'm sorry, who?
Are you referring to the heir to the throne of the Roaming Rhullo, leader of the space pirate known across the universe as the Guyzock, Prince Vorrken?
...
's first mate Chewgi
and company
Reminder you can only purchase TW101 soundtrack until the end of the month
I thought that offer passed
Already bought it.
Best OST.

>they didn't put the piklopedia into pikmin 3
how could they accept such a downgrade?
the piklopedia could quite possibly be one of the best extra's in video games.
Real question. Does any game have a better ending than Wonderful 101?
Nope.
I'll probably get some hate but Resident Evil 6.
Holy shit that is great
All the QTEs in W101 have unique animations that play when you fail them. Most of them are amazing.
>Wonder Yellow
every time
A lot of the QTEs in the last half don't have as much effort put into them. There's nothing interesting or funny about watching something blow up.
I'll never stop chuckling at wonder yellow slowly pushing the button. Such a simple yet comedic animation
W101, Kid Icarus Uprising, Xenoblade series
>story
>character
Gameplay is 10/10 though, I'll give you that.
...
I'll grant you that, but to be fair, the rest of the game at that point is ramping itself up higher and higher, so having some of the QTEs be a bit less interesting seems like it's actually punishing you just a bit for failing.
How do you feel about these 3? A lot of people find them annoying.
Blue is awesome man, pink is qt,luka is fine no hate or love for him
Blue is great, though his perpetual shrugging off and threatening Immorta after she saves them gets a bit irritating.
Pink is good when she's not creaming herself over VORKKIE or screaming at the top of her lungs, but unfortunately that's like 70% of her dialogue.
Luka is an annoying shit for most of the game, even if his motivations are at least a little understandable for a kindergartner. But hey, at least he gives us a giant fucking robot.
I fucking hate luka
>Mission 006: Reason with Blue... with your Fists!
>It's a "teammates pummel the shit out of each-other" episode
These are always the best.
Lords of the Fallen.
Was the PS2 game good?
Love the Halloween aesthetic; hate the gameplay.
...
Sonic 3 And Knuckles and Sonic Unleashed
Massive games with great content and variety
...
I have no idea what the fuck this is supposed to mean
Click it. It's where you belong.
You're not gonna post on Sup Forums anymore.
>stop talking about video games
Back to Sup Forums or wherever you reside
>sonic 3 and knuckles
>complete package
Nigga you need two games for either one to be complete, they're two of the biggest examples of incomplete games
Combined obviously as they were intended to be but couldnt because of space and time issues
That and SU are in my top 5 goat list so it doesnt really matter
This, or more specifically for me the SNES version for better co-op, is the most correct answer
