Just bought this. Any tips?
Just bought this. Any tips?
yeah, stop shilling games on Sup Forums
Kill yourself.
Don't try to take a fort until you have a good grasp of the game(and a large army)
We have a mount and blade thread maybe once a week, at most.
Where as we have tons of threads about the same shitty game every day.
>buying pc games
you need to be 18 to post here
1257 AD kill the peasants edition for the bitchin ability to fight as one of your mooks when your character gets knocked out.
Suvarna Mahayuth Gook Jungle Adventure.
Gekokujo for grorious nippon. Really wish they had pistols. Suvarna does.
Did you try to boot it up? It has trouble doing it on more modern PCs, from time to time. The game itself, once it works, is fine. Marry a cute noble, betray her dad and found your own kingdom. Call it outer heaven, if you wish.
Well lemme fucking tell you one thing, OP.
Play the vanilla game for a couple hours till you got the basic mechanics down; combat, troop management, castles, etc.
Once you got that, you're gonna head onto Mod DB and have a gander at some sickass overhaul mods, and you've got hundreds of hours of gameplay.
What mod to choose?
>The Last Days of the Third Age
It's LOTR, but with currency reworked. Much more of an RPG; go on quests, find legendary weapons, get to know NPCs who might die, etc. Pretty neato!
>1257 AD
It's Warband except in all of Europe and some of the Middle East/Africa. Go on Crusades, make a superblob, whatever you like. TONNES of factions (England, France, Poland, Sandrats etc) all with their own units and shit. Great stuff.
>Warsword Conquest
It's Warhammer Fantasy
>Nova Aetus
My personal favourite, it includes:
-The vanilla map but changed and in the future
-A religion system with different sects, different faiths, crusades, jihads, etc
-Technology progresses over time; Kingdoms with more resources and money will gain better technology and thus better armour, weapons eventually leading to early field artillery
-Sail to the new world (added on the edge of the map) which is inhabited by a fierce Azrec like faction
-Class system, work your way up from peasant to bitchass Lord
-Monarchy optional, there is a merchant republic ruled by a Doge
-Build your own castles
STILL unsure?
But Napoleonic Wars for hundreds more hours of utter fun.
Use Ctrl+Space to speed up time on the world map, learned this after months of playing.
>warsword conquest
>wanna enlist? too bad fuck you
Other Handy Hints:
>Remember what troops you have when attacking something. If an army is all cavalry, your army of all foot-based archers is probably a bit fucked. If your army is all cavalry, you probably don't wanna siege a castle.
>Press Ctrl+Space to speed up the map
>DON'T become the marshall
>DON'T make a new Kingdom until you are ready to defend it, people will war on you
>Equip a lance on horseback, get some speed, press X to win
"But user, why won't anyone let me join their faction?"
You gotta prove you're a bad enough dude. How?
>Win tournaments
>Hire dudes with winnings
>Kill bandits with dudes
>Level up dudes
>Find bandit hideout
>Clear it
>Sell shit
>Find new tournament
>Rinse and repeat
Once your battle-dick is big enough, Kings will actually start asking you to join them.
It's sjw shit. It literally has achievements for playing as a stronk wymyn
Playing as a woman is harder nigger
Got Windows 10 and the game runs fine.
Their achievements are utter bants, as always.
>all those monty python references
Say what you want about the devs, the achievements in all their games are banterous as fuck
>made a new guy in mount and blade earlier
>still haven't sided with a kingdom
Who should it be l Swaida or the Vagerids?
Doesn't change anything I just said. Get the fuck back to tumblreddit
Don't play mods for a long time until you've had your fill of this.
Don't listen to any tips yet. The game is the most fun when you don't have a single clue what to expect. I miss the first days when I played this and the world was so new and wonderful.
I still like it, but now that I know the meta there's less wonder. A fun experience but the world feels smaller (but that's with almost a thousand hours)
There's nothing sjw about making the game legitimately harder for a woman to survive working in a mans role in the era.
If anything that's the complete opposite, instead of just random women soldiers without it being a thing.
>watching an army that can totally destroy you slowly catch up, miles away from a city.
Nah, you go back to Sup Forums faggot.
It's a fiction setting and mechanics make playing as a woman hard mode.
Nice bait, though.
>Running towards a friendly host
>Just about to reach it
>With them as allies you'll surely win the battle
>The friendly host runs away just at the threshold of you being able to fight alongside them
>Lose
>YOU CAN TAKE 100 OF ANY UNIT TO START YOUR OWN KINGDOM AND CONQUER THE LAND
>OTHER LORDS WON'T SIEGE YOUR SHIT, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS WIN FIGHTS AND SIEGES
>WHAT DO
Rhodock sharpshooters with levelled up tactics and surgery desu
God damn do I hate people like you. I hate you a lot.
Huscarls. I was born for this.
>raise an army of 100 knights
>clusterfuck everything
>result
Anyone still play Napoleonic wars online?
it's still pretty active
All day every day.
NRP still gets 200 players a day and the admins aren't controlling retards like on some other servers.
Honestly being dead on there isn't even dull because chat is so funny.
Everyone plays Napoleonic Wars.... Its more popular than vanilla. Vanilla doesn't even major in the multiplayer.
Don't open it.
>tfw to intelligent to use or join Rhodoks
Yeah, SJW shit... where the only way you can get women fighters is by literally clubbing peasant women unconscious and having them fight for you through Stockholm Syndrome.
WARNING
if you play the Napoleonic Wars multiplayer module, you'll never play anything else again
or save them from their rapist bandit captors, but you can't save them from spawning without a helmet.
Napoleonic Role Play chat is honestly better than red dragon warchat
So far, none of the modules have made playing a woman hard enough. No rape when you lose, no sexual slavery, worst of all feasts are useless.
Even Carribean! which advertises adult content is just crappy prostitutes and an edgy main quest. That said, I wanted the stuff that Ann talks about that happened to her to be a consequence for the female pc if they lose a battle.
Never played Dickplomacy?
Never heard of it.
...
When Warsword and Gekokujo gets multiplayer, it will be over for Napoopan, for other Warband multiplayer modules in general.
One can dream.
Look it up on /mbg/ then, its got rape, and selling captured ladies into sexual slavery via your brothel. I don't think a female player character can be turned into a slave though.
Or being a total white knight and saving them from bandits, but I guess you didn't actually play the game enough to know that.
Where's gekokujo?
It's kinda disappointing that the game never bothers to flesh out the camp mechanics enough to make having Camp Followers actually affect anything. All the soldiers are just robots you feed money and butter to.
Downloading it now. That's a shame about most of the modules and native; Playing a female character always takes away more options than adds.
I never played it because I'm a massive faggot
and don't like eastern aesthetics
I heard it's basically hard mode if you play as a female in Gekokujo. Women cannot join the military to fight in wars with a lord, forget about vassalage unless you do some ridiculous shit to get noticed, etc.
The game even warns you before choosing a woman that you will miss out on a lot of shit and things will literally be harder for you.
I don't know about you, but I like it like that. Realism of setting makes it for engaging.
Play Swadian heavy cavalry, all other factions are useless and all other play styles are objectively worse
I still found it too easy. Again, the only downside to playing a woman is that feasts are useless.
Now I have to fucking replay this AGAIN
I hope you're happy
As an addendum, since female PC's don't have feasts to woo a girl, NPC's should try to find a sufficiently charming PC and woo her. But, the one who always has to make any moves is the player character. Even as the Queen of your own kingdom, no noble men even bother trying anything.
2 hand, no armor
Never heard of that Nova Aetus, souds pretty neat.
Downloading it now.
Don't go for efficient, go for what you think looks the most fun. The kergits are garbage, but it is still fun to ride some fuckers down on the open plains with your army of shitty horse archers.
Yeah, I like the idea of that. You're some random bumfuck bad ass lady striking down armies with a group of mercs who are following you cause you have money. Some lords likes that, so you have to deal with suitors wooing you, and you have to choose who offers you more for your affection.
So how do I deal with these raiders that kill taking me prisoner?
I can't out run them at all
Get a horse.
Nova Aetus is good but a very slow burning one if you start from the start with no cheats.
If you want to get straight into playing a Lord or whatever, use cheats.
Otherwise, you are a peasant. Peasants can't do shit.
There's a class system, each class has it's own set of rights and stuff-at the lowest level you can't even enter castles or churches.
Best way to progress is:
>Get a permit to mine/cut wood
>Do that for a while to gt enough renown to learn a trade
>When you learn a trade you'll have a master trainer that you "work" with once a day, working increases chances of making a masterpiece
>Once you're at like 60% go to a guildhall and keep asking to show a masterpiece
Investing in guildhalls is a great idea too; when a guildhall levels up that you're a member of/investor in, you get a fuck tonne of prestige and cash.
Advancing classes is very satisfying BUT does take a while.
Probably the most immersive mod out there though. A stupid amount of features.
And it's not one of these half baked mods.
It's at 4.0, above and beyond what was promised.
Been a while since I played and I don't know what new fandangled mods there are, so disregard anything that's now irrelevant.
Learn to couch a lance on a horse, go to tournaments and bet money on yourself at every stage, get money. Buy weavery + dyeworks. Get more money. Buy another weavery + dyeworks in another city. Do this ad nauseum until you control the entire world's supply of colored clothes.
Fuck King Hilarius and Haringoth. Those guys are fags
Norse Huscarls are best infantry. Swadian Knights are best mounted. Rhodok Sharpshooters are best ranged.
Go into battle. Ever. Single. Time. Simply by existing on the battlefield, your troops will not shit the bed. If you have 100+ troops and you decide to sit out during a fight with 10 naked forest bandits, I guarantee you will lose 5 of your best men, be routed, and only kill 3 of the bandits.
Use companions for party skills. Jeremus is a good doctor. Deshavi is a good tracker. You should focus your character on learning to kill better. A few points in inventory or prisoner management isn't terrible, but don't go overboard.
FUCKING THIS
so how do you cheat your way into becoming a lord instantly?
That ruins half the fun faggot
Are there any mods that offer different maps and additional kingdoms? I don't want like a big magic or sci-fi overhaul, just something with a bigger world.
does using mods and modules still let you get cheevos on the Steam version?
refund
Anno Domini
You're a bit late to the party aren'tcha?
B O N E R L O R D when?
Yes, it does. Some will be impossible to get depending on the module. I still don't have Saranid nights because the modules I use aren't in Calradia.
>tfw waiting for Bannerlord
Bannerlord, Kingdom Come, and Nioh are all I'm waiting for.
>Warsword Conquest
Hope it's good.
>buy shitloads of fantastic games I want to play: BG2, Arx Fatalis, Dark Messiah, Gothic 2, Grim Fandango, RE4, etc.
>only want to try out other Warband mods
fucking shit
I need to try out Swedish Mayo, ACOK, TLD, VC and Caribbean before my life feels complete
>Bannerlord
user....
Better check your privilege before I rekt your face
>30 fps
jesus
So, what's the deal with butter?
More cinematic user ; )
>bought
Ctrl+Space speeds up the overworld map movement. The game tells you it at some point yet hardly anyone remembers it until about 100 hours into the game when someone on Sup Forums tells them and their mind is blown at how much time they could've saved.
I wonder what it must be like getting so triggered by something hardly anyone else would even notice like an achievement title you absolutely refuse to play an entire game over it.
MUH CHEEVOS
Remember what is only equality when benefits only woman, not men
Playing a womyn is harder at first, but you get a unique advantage because you can marry a lord.
If you marry a lord with a castle you can use his stationed troops, which will be constantly replenished.
Never trust your king to make good choices
You just blew my mind. Didn't know that and I have like 180 hours in it.
OP here, I've got a group of 28 fighters and 500 deners.
I'm helping the swadian kingdom for now.
I tried the tournament but fighting on a horse feels clunky to me and I can't hit anyone so I lost.
Wat do?? Btw I can't hit shit with my crossbow.
So for just for like the standard 40 troop stuff should I go something like 10 Sarranid Cavarly, 20 Huscarls and like 10 Rhodok Sharpshooters if I want to at least be able to seige?
I usually only get Cavarly, I can seige but its hard. Near impossible to seige any Rhodoks though.
fight bandits, do missions for lords and kings to raise money and skill, sell prisoners
Have you gone into options and switched blocking and attacking to movement keys? This is literally the most important tip I can give about this game.
>siding with Swadia
You deserved it.
>stop talking about video games on the video games board
>not riding around on your fast red horse as you completely decimate the enemies' backline
get dickplomacy
