Neo-Sup Forums's first console was the 360. If it wasnt a console, then their first game was TF2 on their shitty Geforge 7600 GT toaster their parents bought them

>first console was a PS2 slim in 2007
where do I stand?

Probably a newfag

I always had huge as fuck ones because my old man used to work at a tv factory

Good times.

Not this shit again.

You're either young as fuck or poor as fuck.
or both

first console was a ZX spectrum
where do I stand?

I had a crt up to the 360. It was kinda rough desu.

Awfully specific, nice projection faggot.

just experience

Oh no, don't tell me that time is passing by and not remaining static. I can't live with that.

I'm 18

Someone's speaking from experience.

>no fixed resolution
>beautiful colors
>no control delay
How can LCDs even compete?

>People born on the same year that Crash Bandicoot 3 came out are now allowed to post here

>trying to read text in MGS4 or any PS3 game before I bought an HD tv

Used a Viewsonic for years, loved that thing.

>ps-anything

In the welfare line, I'm guessing

It's not a Trinitron, but it's still comfy as fuck. My last CRT died and I got this TV at Goodwill for $10 shortly after they no longer sold CRTs. It feels great for playing my retro games.

I can only find Bang & Olufsen CRTs in my country lol.

Which would you recommend, Breath of Fire 1 or 2?
I'd like to play the original if it's good.

I'm really not someone you should be asking. I've completed the first game, but it is only average as far as SNES RGPs are concerned. I'm only about halfway through the second game, but it feels like more of the same with nothing new to add. Go play FFV if you are looking for a good SNES RGP experience.

Friend replaced his CRT this year, that thing was a beast.

Trinitron is king

No user, my auntie bought it in a store

>auntie

Whatever nigger

Treat your X'eye better before it falls off your shelf. And dust your shit jesus christ I feel sick just looking at it.

In the underage category. If you didn't live when 8-bit games were being sold in stores you have no place here.
>implying indieshit is 8-bit

>16:9 CRT

I hated this fucking thing.

...

>people born in 2002 will never know the freedoms of Pre-9/11 flight

Thank god digital games exist. I hate the cluster fuck disc make. It was fun to have them as a kid but pointless as you got older. Literally have bins full of games.

I really should recap my X'Eye before it dies on me. Dusting is such a pain in the ass. You dust things once and a week later they need dusting again. It's an endless cycle.

>can't even follow people to their gate to see them off anymore
>or wait at their gate for when they arrive

>How can LCDs even compete?

By not being a blurry mess of eye cancer

I know this pain.

Used to play on my dad's old 20in CRT that could do 2048x1536

Games looked so fucking nice

First console was Xbox huge around 2005ish , played it on an old ass big wooden TV, I'm pretty sure it was pre-CRT, like a tube tv similar to pic related
Not that young but I did not play games untill I was in 6th grade

>all those pre-9/11 romance/rom-coms dont make sense anymore
>why is he at the gate if hes not on the flight
>why is a man screaming and running through the airport?
>where are the guns?
>why is nobody stopping this madman?

at least some places in europe still dont do "security theater" like most Baltic/Balkan states

Alright Sup Forums. Name your first console and your age.

>22
>huegbox

>First console was a PS2 on launch
>Used CRT's all the way up to becoming a PC gamer
>Now have multiple consoles and exclusively use CRT's

Everything looks better on CRT, except maybe 360.

The better question is who the fuck would buy 8th generation gaming consoles with NO A/V SUPPORT?!?!

22
N64

I'm 21

So do CRT have no lag? My PC monitor crapped out, is it worth getting a CRT? Where the fuck do you even find one and do they even support modern connections like DVI, etc?

26, NES. Growing up I mostly played platformers, shmups, and jRPGs. Some of my favorite games are Ristar, Gradius V, and Dragon Quest 3

I didn't start getting into PC games until I was 20 or so, and I think even now with a pretty top end PC I still mostly just emulate old console games

sorry for the life story

Correct: CRT's have zero input lag.

It's absolutely worth getting a CRT but not for PC gaming. Get a 144hz monitor instead.

>Get a 144hz monitor instead.
Most of them still have lag although in the nanosecond, and most are all TN panels which looks like shit.

CRTs aren't blurry if you are using S-video and up.

Frame rate > miniscule input lag.

43, Nes

The ROG swift has an IPS 144hz monitor. It's what I use and I adore it. Even has swivel for my vertically oriented shmups

23
Wii
I was a very bad student, so my parents didn't buy me shit until I got my shit together. I did play a lot of PC games though.

you belong to the museum.

i never played on a CRT because i was too poor to vidya

Then you have no excuse now that people are giving them away in droves and selling top of the line Trinitrons for $20-30.

>22
>started on PC in 2003
>first console was ps2 in 2013 (wanted one ever since San Andreas came out

Uh no, input will always first and foremost matter. I guess they both do because they somewhat rely on each other. What good is it to have a high smooth framerate when your inputs are delayed and makes the game feel like garbage.

>ROG swift
Not to slow your flow, but it's still TN. The IPS version does contain lag.

I don't think that there is a modern screen that has no input lag with CRT quality image.

23, NES/Genesis

>What good is it to have a high smooth framerate when your inputs are delayed and makes the game feel like garbage.
We're talking about 144hz monitors, not LCD televisions. The input lag is nowhere near significant enough to settle for half the framerate.

>mfw i played ps1 and nes on a crt in the early 2000s
>mfw i'm 20 now

>tfw poorfag when young so had to play snes on a 14" cheap CRT with a screen curved as fuck AND with green stains on both sides because the design was fucking shit with speakers on the sides.

Not missing one bit of that shit. Fuck you

>We're talking about 144hz monitors, not LCD televisions. The input lag is nowhere near significant enough to settle for half the framerate.
They are still TN panels. When you change to 144hz the gamma changes dramatically making the game look washed out.

Are we triggering you?
Sorry man I don't see that as anywhere near as important in competitive/timing based games.

>living in the past

Time to move on.

YES IM TRIGGERED
DESIST ON YOUR NARRATIVE BECAUSE IM GETTING PTSD FLASHBACKS
not really

I got my trinitron and stand for 35 bucks off craigslist. Just bring friends, the thing weighs 200lbs

Post that THICC TV user

How big of screen?

>Caring about a CRT anymore now that we have above 1080p resolutions at high refresh rates and don't have to use vsync

Hell, we don't even have to use TN panels to get those features anymore either! All in a lighter, sleeker frame.

I still use a large CRT for my consoles (mostly due to the fact i dont want to spend the money on a new tv) CRT looks like shit the only reason to use them is because of minimal display lag.

>CRT looks like shit
*if you use composite or coaxial

>not owning all your favorite games and playing them on their original hardware.

Never.

I used to play my dad's old ass commodore 64, not sure if that counts. My first actual console that I owned was a Sega Genesis.

Same. It was my dad's and he passed it onto me. I used to play Bubble Bobble on it before I upgraded to a NES.

I feel really old.

Why do you have a nendo stand but no nendo?

Playstation
Resi 3 was my first game i ever played.
i hate resident evil games tho but i remember having so much fun playing Mercenaries on resi 3 as the rocket launcher guy.

Theres nothing like having the physical cart/disc, and putting it into your system, with the original controller. Emulation is no comparison.

Well of course the 34 inch 16:9 is 200 lbs lol

Are there still companies who produce high quality CRT TVs, or am I doomed to browsing the salvation army?
