Trash. I nominated SS2.

It just says a lot about gaming in general

If even PC players have shit taste, you can only imagine how bad the console playerbase is. Gaming is headed towards a grim future

>TF2

Other than Terraria, I go back to those games once in a while.

>only one game actually qualifies and it's an HD version

No need to hide your insecurities

I nominated Deus Ex.

It's a shame it didn't make into the list. Played it for the first time this year and it has become my favorite game of all time

Terraria is not just as good as I first played, it's much fucking better.

WE

don't blame me, i voted Civ 4.

?

Let me take a guess why you're mad OP.

>Terraria sucks because it doesnt have teh fancy graphics or an "Artistic" story
>therefore it could never stand the test of time

Needs to be more cinematic and like Call of Duty, eh?

Fucking love Serious Sam 2

I voted for company of heroes 1...

but i also nominated Coh for every category I could

hah same

age of empires 2 is a pretty good choice.

skyrim and the others are too new imo.

OP here. My point is that these "games that stand the test of time" are still really modern and the one game that is actually old is the HD remake.

Mount and blade or red orchestra should be there.

Where are these results posted?

This. They may not be the best games ever, but that isn't the category, is it? They all have massive replayability and anyone saying otherwise is just a contrarian faggot that's mad because people have different opinions.

And? A game being old does not mean that it's good, let alone better than modern games. Also, alot of games haven't held up well.

shouldn't expect any different, all the categories are going to be filled with dumb meme shit, or completely irrelevant games, still going to be pissing off

I think he means System Shock 2 m8

I nominated KOTOR for that one.

My point is that none of these games have actually gone through the test of time.

The award title and the award description don't match up. Don't blame the voters for Steam not knowing what 'The Test of Time' means.

How can a game be judged to have stood the test of time if they haven't actually been tested in that manner?

All of these are garbage

I nominated battlefront 2

Skyrim's modding community means it'll have some shit worth looking at for years to come.
I was an AoE1bab and I never got 2 so I can't relate like most people can but that's fine I guess.
Can't really explain CiV that well.
TF2 is a fair choice, that's still getting updated and shit right?
Terraria is a fantastic choice in my opinion.
All in all not that bad of a list. Even when there are better options mainstream shit will attract more votes simply due to bigger playerbases so something like this is to be expected anyway right?

TF2 is like the fucking antithesis of a "test of time." That game has actively gotten worse over the years.

I nominated Thief Gold on the account that it is such an old game that still holds up today, even though it doesn't 100% fit the category because it's not exactly the kind of game you keep revisiting outside of custom maps.

Still, the only legit entry in that list is AoE II.

it means they like games you guys dont

And now that i've looked I see not a single thing I picked made it onto their 5 finalists.

I find it sort of funny that the chink Overwatch clone somehow got meme nominated for an award. Hasn't everybody already ditched that fotm by now?

What the fuck are they doing? What the fuck is wrong with Steam user-base?

Ridiculous. Fallout New Vegas is way more deserving of a spot on there than any of those games. The last DLCs for New Vegas came out years ago and it's STILL in the top 100 games played. All the other games on the list have had more official content added that retains the playerbase.

>soda drinker pro isn't nominated for "Game Within a Game" award

Oh look, it's the same generic garbage that gets or got nominated in literally every other award show.

>Implying a bunch of people didn't just pick random games just to get the badge

This War of Mine deserve to be there.

Disgraceful, absolutely disgraceful.
I thought the nominations would actually be good since regular people were doing them instead of journalists or something.
I was wrong.

Age of Empires II is the only deserving game on that list, just because the other games are too new.

Doom is the game that should've won.

God damn most these nominations make no sense.

DbD for villain needs a hug?
Starbound and Stardew Valley had huge amount of hype before release. Why are they in that category?
Shit that ain't even a decade old in test of time.

That the majority of them are normies just like 90% of other large groups of people

you know for as shit as the Sup Forumsgas are and will inevitably be I appreciate that when they have a "best old game" award they put in a hard cap on how old is old (in this case it's only games from 1996 if I recall.)

dude steam userbase nowadays is different

This.

Hell, the review I wrote I stated "I'm writing a review for the steam badge."

>skyrim
actually its not wrong in one aspect, gamebyro is an ancient engine that apparently can withstand the test of time.

the write in categories are pretty good but everything else is abject trash

Not it can't, it's a buggy piece of shit engine that doesn't allow for anything interesting. How is engine that can't even in to fucking ladders standing the test of time?

Looks like the majority of pcucks are actually underage children, or at least have the mentality of one

Only people with shit taste give a fuck about video game awards

delete this

>Whoaa duuude, this game BLOWS YOUR MIND
>Bioshock Infinite

8 years is quite a time.
Gamer generation is like 4 year. After that man abandon worthless hobby or pick a favorite genres or series.

BAZINGA
BABABABABABAB-

>look up results for the awards since I was away for 1 day when the sale ended and everything about it on steam just vanished
>game within a game award
>tabletop simulator is a top nominee
Oh come on that's bullshit, those fuckers know damn well that's not what they meant. The game is fucking designed to be multiple games.

Aged like milk, ui is garbage and plot is /pol in nutshell.
Why the fuck someone want to play today deus ex when you have a good hr one?

Why did I expect anything better?

>games that blew your minds
>bioshock infinite
Wait a minute, that card

>actually old is the HD remake.
So what it there a hd remake exist then true-gamer should pick original version for the sake of sake?
And again, define 'old'.

>not a single Half Life title in sight

Pretty ok taste.
I'm surprised Resident Evil 4 didn't make the top 5

>oh sweet summer child

>"I thought this game was cool before it won an award"
>Paladins

>"Test of time"
>Fucking Skyrim

>"Just 5 more minutes"
>Fallout 4
>Fucking Fallout 4

>"Woah dude"
>GTA V

There are fucking tears in my eye. What a goddamn terrible day to be a PC gamer.

>No badrats

I'm gonna add to this and say Garry's Mod is bullshit too. It's right there in the fucking description, "this award celebrates the best mini game hidden within another game." Going into the workshop and downloading game modes or different board games isn't fucking hidden and they aren't even fucking minigames. Why is this annoying me so much

Doom
Morrowind
Starcraft
Alpha Centauri
Baldur's Gate

Fight me

i'm voting for THAT CARD on the day that comes up since I don't really get why the other ones "blow your mind." I mean, I like Witcher 3 well enough, but how does it blow your mind? Why the FUCK isn't EYE in there it had to have the combined autism of user all picking it.

bioshit infinope rly maeks u think :DDD

AoE II certainly deserves to be there, but the rest of that list is shameful.

I personally voted for Mushihimesama.

How do we check what we originally submitted again? I don't remember my choices.

With taste like this can pcucks even call themselves gamers

You forgot your 'crying wojak wearing a steam fedora' picture, retard.

>Just as good as when you first played it
>always come back to play this one

>TF2

Holy shit

>the most popular games are chosen

Wow, I can't believe this. This shakes up all of my thoughts on Steam and its userbase.

>It's bad because I associated it with Sup Forums

>REE why they didn't choose that obscure game no one but me played
You always can create /v-edition.
But you never will because you are lazy ass.
And if you will it will be same terraria/tf2.

>Games with great modding potential selected for Standing the Test of Time
Not a problem there m80

Pretty solid list except replace Skyrim with Oblivion.

>no "games that deserve a sequel" award

fucking valve

No it's bad because i associated it with ironic representation of tinfoil conspiracies with no actual logic.

All those are fun games.

>Starbound won an award

i don't think you do

doesn't really matter anyway. not unless Gaben gives the users free shit for nominating finalists. Which he won't because he's a fat greedy bastard who doesn't even give free stuff out for Christmas anymore.

He can't give games of another developers.
And no one thank him for free version of tf2 or dota.

Every game that "withstood the test of time" shouldn't be a recent game, retard.

Kill yourself.

Where's the fucking scam of the year award for No Man's Sky???

t. Overshill

What does this say about Steam's user base?

I didn't even notice that. How did it even get enough nominations? Rallies on the forum?

>All this abysmally shit taste
Master race indeed

That it's made mostly of children.

>No EP2 in the "Never Getting a sequel" category
>No "Never Getting a Sequel" category

>that not subtle at all misleading

lol, steam is casual central

>implying TF2 isn't the best candidate for test of time

Lasted 10 years with still an impressive playerbase

memes, son

>starbound shit never delivers on any of the high promises they blew out their ass in the early days of kickstarter and I think(?) eventually came out of Early Access years later after not really doing anything much

meanwhile
>terarria continues to get solid updates to their game year after year, even when they themselves said OKAY WE'VE DONE ENOUGH WE'RE GONNA MAKE TERRARIA 2 NOW IN JUST 5...MORE..MINUTES

>Don't blame the voters for Steam not knowing what 'The Test of Time' means.
Why not? The burden of reading comprehension lies on them.

Because it means those who voted probably never even played games before 2007, meaning those games never had a fair chance.
