Is this game hard? If I'm fairly new to JRPGs, would this be a struggle to get through?

>is a final fantasy game hard

No. The only hard FF games are the original jap difficulty versions of 1-5. US versions and games from 6 and on are all babby mode easy. FF is a notoriously breakable and easy jrpg series.

That said, FFVI is still a great game.

It's actually the easiest mainline FF game

It's harder than Final Fantasy VII and you'll definitely need to grind for a good while before you can think about going to the final dungeon (the dungeon itself isn't the problem but one of the bosses is really strong)

No. There is no such thing as a hard Final Fantasy. 6 is right smack in the middle of the easiest era of the franchise, at that. You should not have any trouble unless you go full retard. And you're not going to go full retard, are you?

>you'll definitely need to grind
I've not played this but literally every time anyone said "you need to grind" about a jrpg and I played it I came to the conclusion they are mentally retarded

V and VIII are easier to break.

The only hard Final Fantasy is 3, and that's because the last section of the game that leads up to the Cloud of Darkness is a hell hole.

Espers break the game, it's incredibly easy. If you grind just a little bit it's over.

fuck that shit desu

Edgar and Sabin (The brothers of destruction) make FFVI easy.

Awesome boss theme, though. Final Fantasy 3 might honestly have some of the best OST in a NES game.

They kill early game. Autocross-bow and aurobolt, then suplex, then fire dance. Then Chainsaw. They're all you need pre-esper.

depends on how you play. If you run from enemies a lot or suck at strategy you might be fucked.

He didn't even need to use quick.

Those are easier if you already know what you are doing
6 is just plain easy and will be easier for first timers than 5 or 8 would

Unless you're going to fight optional superbosses (which the original SNES release has scant few of) VI is pretty easy for a JRPG - FF is generally one of the easier series to play.

I don't mean this in a negative way, either. The game is certainly fun, so if you really are new this is a fine game to pick early.

If my dumbass kid self can beat it, you can too.

the end game content is kind of difficult

most of the game is relatively easy, especially the opera

Not really. Sabin beast most of the early to mid game and Relm completely breaks end game.

Fuck no, you have to actually know what you're doing to break V while VI rolls over for you and constantly gives you things to wreck the gmae with.

>breaking V
>need to abuse Chemist mixes or Blue Magic or stall for ages with a Bard or wait for broken endgame setups
>breaking VI
>use Sabin/Edgar for half of the game or use one of the three superbroken Gau rages that are all easy to get or use magic because it scales like crazy or use any broken endgame setup, of which there are a lot more than there are in V
Don't you even fucking pretend that these are equivalent.

I feel like they knew some shit was wrong with VI, so instead of fixing it they decided to leave it the way it is so people could break it. Breaking VI is some of the most fun I've had with a game.

>I've not played this but literally every time anyone said "you need to grind" about a jrpg and I played it I came to the conclusion they are mentally retarded
calling people retarded, who wants to be sure, they can beat the boss

Bear in mind that the speedruns of the game manage to clean that final dungeon out with 5 party members and no grinding.
