Perhaps I should have been more prudent. I must admit though, I do envy you. As someone apathetic I no longer am affected by most things. But you are able to feel, experience all range of emotions, such as being easily affected by what others say.

Can someone post a quick low down of lore? Like, what the fuck was their problem.

I remember playing DDS2 back when I was at school, but I was too much of a FF/DQ fag to appreciate an SMT game (I still don't get their appeal to this day, except for Devil Summoner) and dropped it. The only thing I remember is that the music was ballin and the lore seemed interesting, although I didn't understand shit, since I didn't play the first one.

So one day some asshole decided to mess with God for kicks and God decided to corrupt everyone's data.
You end up in robot purgatory, get out, end up somewhere worse, get out, fight a giant coat rack and that's the end.
It's the best SMT game ever made.

Okay. I've read about the series on wikipedia and it seems pretty interesting.

What games are recommended to get into the series if I don't want to play them all?

So far it seems like Nocturne would be the best choice (not too dated, set in its own universe etc.)

Why DDS dungeons are so fucking boring? They even lack the awesome surreal feeling of Nocturne's dungeons.

Most SMT games are set in their own universes, and those that aren't are often not that connected, so don't worry too much about things like that.
Nocturne tends to be a good starting point since it's fairly straightforward and will set you up for the rest of SMT (aka get buffs and fuse), but really, you can start pretty much anywhere (except for certain games like some Persona entries)
It really depends on what you want. Nocturne is a reasonably different experience from DDS or Devil Survivor or Persona or whathaveyou. Maybe look around before you get the games (or just get a lot of them and sort it out then)

My main problem with the series was absolutely terrible monotonous boring dungeons. I only played Persona 3, DDS2 and a little bit of Nocturne and Raidou Kazunoha vs. Soulless Army, though, but all of them except for DS looked extremely boring. I only remember enjoying boss fights then you have to spend several hours of samey corridors between them.

How did the members of the Embryon materialize in the realnworld if they were just AI with no real bodies? I'm sure it was explained somewhere because I remember some character commenting on it, but I don't remember what the actual explanation was.

Persona is the only one that really suffers badly from samey dungeons, though they changed that in P5.
