Why was she barefoot?
Why was she barefoot?
Fanservice for footfags
I love the lighting in this game
she was probably wearing heels
stronk independent womyn
>inside
>not barefoot
it's comfy
She gets nervous when flying.
You've obviously never worked in an office.
Heels suck, a lot of women take them off when they get to work and just go around barefoot.
IME lots of women just have a pair of heels they leave at the office.
Night shift janitor must be a dream job for some.
hell yeah
>Squad, spread out.
what do?
Got rid of her high heels so she doesnt make a lot of noise and can run around.
I never noticed this detail btw, thanks user
MUH DICK
>grenade
>slo-mo explosion
>find straggler
>kung-fu dive kick
hehehe time for night time sniffies of feetsies
FEAR thread with no webms?
The fuck is this?
the screaming when she steps on a shard of glass is going to be a lot louder than her high heels
>play Project Origin
>the shooting is weirdly floaty and unresponsive
>some genuine spooks and good combat encounter design but it just feels empty
>play FEAR 3
>the shooting feels great
>the level design is disgustingly terrible
>basically Painkiller but boring
>no scares to speak of
Why must every one of these games be flawed in some way
fear died when it went multi platform with fear 2.
ignore 2 and 3 and play the original unless you're some shittard who plays fps with a joypad.
the lighting and textures in FEAR still look good, even though the game is over 11 years old. everything looks so sharp compared to modern games where everything is blurry.
I remember that when it was released, even high-end PCs struggled at max settings with soft shadows turned on.
The first game was multiplatform as well
And 2 and 3 have some good aspects between them, they're just not as good as the first
>FLASHLIGHT
>HE'S TRYING TO FLANK
the AI in FEAR just works really well.
everything is nice and sharp, yeah, but your pic shows why FEAR's graphics aren't exactly state of the art anymore
I mean are those shadows supposed to actually make sense based on that scene? Is fire known for casting stark, razor-edged shadows? FEAR is a great game that still looks pretty good but it annoys me when people act like it uses superior techniques that we need to go back to.
I'd rather have sharp stencil shadows but every light source casts shadows, than have super realistic shadows but only from some light sources.
the original FEAR and the expansions are really good, just a bit short. the shooting was okay I think.
FEAR 2 was meh, but it wasn't totally awful. just not anywhere near as good as the original.
FEAR 3 was Call of Duty with some horror elements thrown in. it was a disgrace.
perseus mandate > extraction point
well, I really like the sharp shadows. not everything has to look 100% realistic.
It's not just the sharpness, look at how silly the angle of the shadows is. There is apparently a shop light danging at head height 2 inches inside the door. And yes, FEAR has many shadow-casting lights, but the number of light sources in the environment is usually very small with only one or two per room. FEAR makes it work because you're in sterile environments like concrete utility rooms and construction areas a lot of the time, but if every game looked like FEAR you'd be complaining about how sterile everything looks and "lol consoles can't do multiple light sources, fucking modern devs."
agreed, PM has a bad opening level but is underrated
>Die Hard
So you could cum on her toes
Who /noslowmo/ here?
Yeah let's nitpick a game that's 11 freaking years old.
Ok, so placement of the dynamic light source could have been better for the fire. Fine. That's fixable.
But complaining that there are only a few light sources per room, when ALL light sources cast shadows, is a moot point. Who cares? If the environment looks right, what difference does it make? You don't need 50 light sources in a room for it to look good.
Either way, F.E.A.R.'s light style could still work just fine with modern day hardware. I would love to see a game with it's design, but with much higher geometrical complexity, much higher texture resolution, but stick to closed spaces and night lighting. It's like Resident Evil 7 and P.T. By focusing on small space enclosures, you are able to push the hardware insanely far with what you can do.
heee heee heee what a dream job
>hey guys this game looks better than modern games
>actually no it doesn't because [reasons]
>omg stop nitpicking, it's 11 years old sheesh
::rolls eyes::
::back the fuck off?!::
It's the art style we're praising, the sharp shadows and dynamic elements. Pic related.
You are nitpicking the limitations of the hardware from 11 years ago. Just think about that for a second. You have to NITPICK the way the game was done, 11 fucking years ago. I think that speaks for itself for defending the title.
this. too bad so many games are blurry brown&bloom diarrhea. I'd like to see the art style from FEAR used more.
*unzips katana*
*teleports behind you*
psshh.. nothing personnel kid
>grenade explodes
>lightbulb still intact
Immersion: ruined.
What is this expression trying to convey?
She's secretly a murderer who hides her footsteps by walking barefoot.
all vydia girls should be barefoot tbqhwy
How else do you lick between her toes?
Try to run in high heels.
That's why she threw them away, OP
Hmmm
Why in video games there are no more things like this? Is it too costly and nobody cares about physics?
Wasn't she kidnapped and taken hostage?
First thing you do when taking hostages is take their shoes so they're less likely to run.
>First thing you do when taking hostages is take their shoes so they're less likely to run.
not if they're high heels
There are still things like this.
Do not fall for obvious cherry picking.
>that gif
fear was on 360 as well and looked like that. Nice bait tho
Then they'd probably take them off themselves because heels are shit
Also, why the fuck do women insist on wearing heels if they're so shitty and they complain about it all the time?
high heels can be used as a weapon as well.
you should take them.
Because Women don't function on logic
No man, you still remove the high heels because it's annoying to carry the hostage.
She needs to walk and run properly while you move her around from one location to another.
Seriously, why do women wear high heels in the first place? They look like a real pain.
>why do women wear high heels in the first place? They look like a real pain.
it makes your butt nice and round, at least from my experience
FEAR is not a good game, not a bad one but sure as fuck not a good one
>Heels suck, a lot of women take them off when they get to work and just go around barefoot.
This.
Jesus Christ, it is absolutely amazing in summer when half the women in the office and wearing flip-flops and the other half are just walking around barefoot. It just all builds up over the course of the day, and by the time I get home, I'm ready to cum buckets.
What? The lightbulb creating dynamic lightning is something you can't find in modern games anymore (Uncharted, GOW4, BF1)
You're right, it's not a good game but actually a great game
What are you talking about? Of course you find dynamic lighting in modern games.
Do they have a physics affect light globe with a nice looking shadow mask in every scene? No, but neither does FEAR.
You've just gotten so used to this sort of stuff you probably barely even notice it anymore.
I hope you dont stare bro
im 90% sure people notice
I'm pretty sure people have noticed, even though I try not to get caught staring. You're never quite as smooth as you think you are with these things.
They're just people I work with anyway.
A glance is all you need. It's unfortunate that the best time to stare at girls' feet is gone once you graduate
why would you have a zipper on your sword?
Pop, pop.
Men like them.
Also tradition, suits and dress shoes aren't exactly comfy either but you're expected to wear those at certain positions.
You can't notice what isn't there. If you get so used to seeing it that you don't notice it, why is it noticeable in fear? I mean c'mon now
>Men like them.
I don't, it just makes me feel bad for them. It's like watching a 3 legged dog try to walk for the first time, it's just kinda sad.
Suits are comfy and I just wear normal shoes because I'm not a tool.
Shotgun was fucking ridiculous in this game. I don't think there was a single encounter that I couldn't overcome by turning on slow-mo and blasting everything at point-blank range.
Slow-Mo is easy mode but fuck if it isn't fun to use.
>what are HID lamps
These fuckers are quite sturdy.
:^)
OH FUCK
>get home
>"why my feet smell like peaanus weeanus"
Meanwhile in the office
>Yep, that's me, you're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation
I always wanted to play fear but I can't stand horror games
I remember playing it on PC a while back and the HUD being really small. Is there a way to scale the UI?
Nice shadows you got there
One of my first "THIS is why I play this game" moments when I replayed fear was taking out an entire squad in slow mo and in the middle of it shooting off a replicants head with the shotgun
What if you step on a staple?
