i don't get it. why are they calling this resident evil? it's nothing like the resident evil we al know and love. or rather, everybody that goes looking in to a resident evil title wants what 1, 2, 3 and to some extent, 4, provided. don't they realize that by using this name they're just pissing people off?

the game's not going to become viral by slapping the RE name on it, it's going to become viral from the scare factor it has just like PT did.

i haven't seen that much gameplay but aside from the seemingly psychopathic characters that i'm assuming are somehow infected with something similar to the plaga, i've seen nothing that ties in to the RE universe or even has anything to do with the franchise. can somebody explain what the fuck the deal is?

It's literally the same gameplay, just in first-person instead of third-person. I have no idea why you autists are sperging out so hard over that.

And what is Resident Evil exactly? As far as I know, CAPCOM hasn't been following the same formula since the first game.

The game is similar to RE1/REmake in terms of general game flow. You can go read up on the preview a lot of the press got to do and play with the game. The basic opinion is that the game is different and putting a spin on the formula, but is mostly faithful. They also say it might be good, we will see come January.

i think merely from a presentation point of view the trailer is like a direct copy of SH2 story, with very SH-esque music, and a very P.T looking scary hallway simulation. it just looks like they made a distinct effort to market into the hole left by P.T, even though they game has obviously already been in production for a while and doesn't play anything like P.T - which had shit gameplay.

so in the end you get this knee-jerk, "not muh RE" hysteria common among nerds.

That's not even true. You can't even truly aim in 1-3 when you compare it to four. They are similar but not the same.

Just the standard pricing for whatever country you are in for triple A games, but there is an expensive collector's edition that looks bad IMO.

I think everything in the Demo has been figured out, I've played this demo longer than I care to admit. I'm hoping the full game will have lots of fun stuff and different ending. We will see when it releases.

PT does exist, Silent Hills doesn't

PT was a demo for Silent Hills, which has been cancelled. PT has been pulled from the Playstation store and can no longer be downloaded.
If you still have PT installed I would highly encourage you to never delete it.

No I never played it but after looking it up I do remember a bunch of webms made of the game. Looks creep af. Shame the main game was canceled because I imagine it would have been pretty good if the teaser was anything to go by
