When you say Crytek, the only thing that comes to mind are the Crysis series and their engine. Did they release anything successful in the past few years?

Ryse was a massive flop and they made a bunch of F2P games nobody remembers exist and I'm pretty sure all shut down

Not really, which is probably why they're hemorrhaging money and have been for several years. They did Ryse which was a launch title for the Xbone and was by all accounts a salvage job of a failed Kinect game for the 360. Then they tried to get the Pay2Win money with Warface and had some success in Russia and South Korea because they love that shit over there, but it obviously wasn't enough to keep all their studios going.
They had to get rid of Free Radical which they had tasked with developing Homefront 2 instead of the sensible choice which would have been Timesplitters 4. Homefront 2 got published by someone else and turned out to be shit. They've also still got a couple of other pay2win games in closed beta but nobody's seen anything of them.

Oh and there's the VR games which are a bit meh but reviewed OK.

CDPR has made decent console versions of their titles = Witcher 2 and 3. Crytek fell apart at adapting Crysis 2/3 and managing over 10 projects at the same time.

They sold Farcry, and made Crysis as a substitute. Nothing worth noting has come out from Crytek since Crysis, its just a place to waste cash.

The point is that they sold out to normies and normies won't always be there to support them. It's good money but only until they fail to capture the normie audience, which can happen unexpectedly.
