Why are some of the backgrounds in Pirates Curse so bad? Like some of them aren't even actually pixel art. It's just drawn images through a filter. One in particular being in the desert I remember.

There were five or so that weren't funded. We missed out on animated cutscenes and VO work (meh), a few chapters and being able to replay the game as Bolo / Sky / Rottytops, which was the only thing that I really was hoping for in the first place.

Why doesn't the gameplay of the Shantae series...I dunno...modernize? Like the enemy behavior patterns, spawning, and placements?

I know why they don't do more in-depth story - to try and keep fans hooked. But I do think they need to capture interest in the first place, and HGH's story may have been the last straw full of empty calories for some longtime fans.
