Have you finished with that backlog yet, senpai?

Have you finished with that backlog yet, senpai?

>Finishing the backlog
That doesn't happen does it?

A backlog, as in buying games only to shelf them, is the first major hint you're slipping away but you refuse to let go, you still want to feel like you belong so you keep buying.

That's dumb. No one does that.

Say it ain't so, user... please...

>buy game
>start playing game
>sale takes place
>buy more games
>put previous game on hold
>start new game
>forget about older games
>start playing older game
>put new one on hold
>another sale takes place
>rinse and repeat

No, but I FINALLY played Brothers and Bastion. Brothers was great but Bastion lost a lot of steam midway through and I found it pretty 'meh' for such a revered title

Kill yourself weeb

Can I ever finish this?
Really?

I'm halfway through Kingdom hearts BBS I already defeated the hardest optional boss and only have one arena boss to go. Then just play Ven and Aqua's quests on critical and I will have 100%ed the game.

>fighting MF as Terra
The absolute madman.

A fucking lot of people do it.

>Buy at day one
>You know you can't play it right there and now but you still pay full price
>Shelf

The only reason you do it is because you want to feel part of that group of avid gamers who still manage, even though you don't. It's also the reason why a lot of people slowly start giving up

>Look on the shelf
>GAME you haven't played yet
>vee is done talking about it
>make thread
>archived
>no dopamine for you, dawg

I did a while ago. Right now I have only 4 games in my backlog.

The majority of my backlog is humble bundle shovelware

There are only about a half dozen or so games I have that I'm interested in but haven't completed. And the only issue there is storage space.

I need another TB.

>people care whether Sup Forums talks about games they play or not

Are you grannies in a book club too?

JUST

What's that? Metro? I'd use a skin but I'm paranoid of hacking and stuff, had you ever had problem?

I unironically find this to be awesome, props to you man.

Hacking? Oh lawd.
No, I haven't had an issue.
It's an XML that tells elements how big they need to be and where, and then there's a map to the colors. It's not a fucking exe, man.

Who is this cutie patootie

Considering a lot of those games don't even have campaigns, then yes. My Steam library is currently 337 unique games.

Some of them, are multiplayer only, so I count those as "finished." Or are like, MoO2 and Hearts of Iron and don't have a story, those are finished. Some of them I've played on previous consoles and are finished. Whereas others I got from bundles, played 2 hours of, and then decided I didn't care for, those are also considered finished. After considering all of that, I have 194 finished games in my steam library.

Backlogs are never as big as they seem, and if you just finish games at a slightly quicker rate than you buy them (shouldn't be too hard, considering your average game these days takes 7-9 hours), Only reason my backlog is as big as it is is because I've bought most of humble bundle's bundles and been subbed to humble monthly for like the past 6 months.

>playing right now
Nocturne

>will play soonTM
Digital Devil Saga 1/2
Persona 3/4

I've already poured 26 hours in nocturne in the last 3 days

>subbing to humble monthly

It's like you want more useless trash.

Did you miss the part where a lot of people agree with

>I spend more time on gaming message boards rather than actually playing games?

They want company and validation, whatever little or miserable that may be or sound like. That's how the "let's play" generation came to existence.

>Why spend several hours learning to be good at REmake while I can just watch a guy playing the whole series for 8 hours straight a day on youtube while I chat with other living beans? Nobody's gonna care whether I git gud or not either way

Don't underestimate this mentality.

>Work shitty job
>Can't afford vidya
>Get better job
>Afford all the vidya
>No time for it because 40 hrs a week
>Start school
>Even more money
>Now homework + work
>Passion for games burns again as I play the shit out of them on weekends when homework is done

Nothing reinvigorates your passion for gaming like being the only one in your class to ace the biology test

I earned that eight hours of raiding in FF14 god dammit

That's a lot more than 300 games.

>buy game
>play game
>beat game

why is this concept so hard? do you faggots dont have any sense of self control?

As sad as I am to admit it, I too spend more time here than I do playing games.

I just don't spend it talking about the games that I do play, or being upset that I can't.

I'm not here to be validated, or to hear user's opinions and assessments about what I am currently playing.

I am not underestimating the power of such mentality, just purposefully belittling it.

The same could really be said for the console subscription services now.

Well done user.

Help me, I keep buying games even though I don't enjoy them anymore
I actually don't really enjoy anything anymore

Sounds like you wank too much, talk to too few people, and don't get out enough.

I really reccommend going back to college as an adult. I think not being in school for a couple years helped.

>Graduated High School in 08
>Got into college for a semester or two at a time but couldn't afford it
>Now 25 years old
>Back in for real with all this government money
>In reasonable shape and not a weird autist so people talk to me
>Give reasonable adult advice to 17/18 year olds who actually want to listen
>Just this semester I helped this weird guy in one of my classes get with this cutie
>Live in rural Indiana so don't have to deal with SJW feminist horseshit

Might spend every day debating shotgun mouthwash because the semester is out for a few more weeks and I'm living off of UI and food stamps due to my office shutting down for the holidays, but being back in school has genuinely helped me in other ways too.

Bio Major/Chem Minor before someone bitches at me about getting a meme degree

No arguments here.
