You know what fuck the memers, i really loved this game. I still have my special edition gamecube with the gale of darkness skin.

Sadly Nintendo hates money. They choose to make shitty 10 minute production puzzle ds games instead of taking time and heart to create an open world next gen pokemon explore and battle game with great gameplay.

Just make it on Switch with a focus on double battles and an evil syndicate instead of gyms and you've got the game. I personally enjoyed all the battle animations even though some may say it slowed down the gameplay.

there's a video where Gamefreak made walking animations for all pokemon and didn't use them in Sun and Moon. I don't think effort is the problem

It would be money and time unless they just did the first 2 generations or so

if they learned to prioritize it wouldn't be a problem. Someone needs to a make a list of all the features gamefreak has dropped over the years

It'll never happen because Genius Sonority were behind Colosseum and Gale of Darkness, not GameFreak.
Now look at where they are today.
GameFreak is unbelievably incompetent and refuses to learn how to optimize and code, but by God are they bitterly jealous towards anyone who can make a better game than them.

Well, it seems they're trying to get there since Sun/Moon now have the Trainers showing during battles like in the GC games, and there's the whole battle style thing.

The downside is that they're shoving in a lot of cutscenes, and of course not even the new 3DS can handle their code properly.

All the work is already done, since they future-proofed every Pokemon's model in the transition to 3D.
