So how is that Europe still has little to no representation in the FGC? What can be done to change this? What does a European player have to do in order to be on the big stage with the rest of the top players?

From my experience fighting games here are mostly played as dudebros couch/party games. Arcades also aren't really popular.
France doesn't use non French social media. Facebook is still the #1 platform.
Also French people get placed in ranked all the time in real world event. The problem is the USA treating esport like handegg, and half your "world" events are local shit only american can really attend because no real league would fund the travel over the world, like real sports do.

Eastern europe is out cause they only play on PC and only shooters or mobas, if they can even afford vidya. On top of that, every country that is smaller than Poland is too small to develop a strong local scene. All you really got is UK, France and Germany but they don't have many asians. Muslims don't enjoy anything and vidya is probably haram anyway. White people don't play fighting games so that's that. I've proven that Europe cannot produce good players.

There are several.
FGC events take place in 'Murica so it's not really worthwhile to travel to those events generally speaking for most people. Fighting games aren't e-sports and people playing them generally have jobs and shit. Then there's also the matter that Europe is a really big place of several different countries with different languages and cultures, finding a local FGC community here is really hard, next to impossible even. And even if you do find one, you really can't get too picky about their skill level and thus your own potential growth. Europe has top tier online doe. And some EU talent is still making waves in America occasionally, didn't that Euro guy win EVO SFIV etc?
