Sims 4 mainly needs expansions to be decent again, but that's gonna take a while. I think I'll probably like Sims 4 over Sims 3 once it gets all the expansions for me to like it again, since my biggest issue with Sims 3 is that if you have too much shit, the game just shits itself.

Sims 4 was supposed to be. For some reason a last minute decision was made to make it offline. Though I feel it was for the better.

i tried some of those sexmods in sims3, i was utterly bored and it took too long to get them working

they always cheap out on features that were in the previous and then slowly add them in but this time it went way too far

it was developed as a simple online game in the same vein as sim city but after seeing how that turned out they decided that to drop that idea and go back to the regular sims

an insane amount of stuff is still missing and most of all there is no depth to the gameplay, where other sims have quite a lot of things added the only things they seem to be able to add for this one is more items rather than more gameplay

I recently re-installed Sims 3 + all expacs & stuff packs on my SSD. While obviously not as fast or smooth as Sims 4, it's pretty good. It's just simply a poorly optimised game. Sims 4 sacrificed so much just so it would run smoothly, but I don't think the tradeoff was good enough, at least yet with the current content and expacs. Hopefully EA puts their acts together again for Sims 5, but that's probably asking too much knowing them.
