Hi-definition sound for auditoriums. Bad for just about everywhere else.
If you were in an IMAX, the sound would make it feel like the music is floating around you. However, you need very expensive audio equipment for that. Far more expensive than any "audiophile" could afford.
Elijah Taylor
Look at that. It came to me like I knew it would. Why am I so gangster, Sup Forums?
You should get a job that lets you keep your self respect, shill.
Thanks, user.

Is there a significant difference to justify the FLAC size if you have a good headset or is it just music elitists' memery?
Christopher Torres
FLAC is uncompressed. It's just better quality.
Matthew Bennett
FLAC uses lossless compression. About half the filesize of a raw WAV file.
Isaac Cooper
MP3 V0 is pretty much transparent and good enough for 99.99% of people.
FLAC is best for archival.
Adam Lee
Half the size? Really? But FLAC is the superior format isn't it? Doesn't it go >FLAC > .WAV >.mp3? Perhaps I just don't know anything about audiofile formats but I'd have assumed that FLAC would have been higher in size if it was better quality.
Angel Jackson
When does that first one play? Also, call me a faggot but it reminds me of smash more than anything.
Lincoln Ramirez
Soundtrack was weak.
Jeremiah Fisher
WAV is raw and uncompressed. FLAC uses lossless compression, same quality as WAV with a smaller file size. MP3 uses lossy compression.

>10 years >Soundtrack is shorter than fucking FF6, a SNES game
I don't understand how this could happen.
Even such a no-brainer inclusion as unique background music for each location isn't a thing in XV. Instead there's two overworld tracks and three generic dungeon tracks, which are used in every area and dungeon respectively.
Battle themes are good but they're just standard Shimomura fare, you'd think she'd put more effort into this than any old Kingdom Hearts spinoff.
Ryder Wood
There's a few standout tracks, but yes, it's not anywhere near her KH work
Tyler Powell
Based Yolo Shimmy phoning in her FF work but putting in overtime for Papa Nommy

Anthony Green
Wut, brah?
Have you ever heard a fishing theme as epic as this before?
My biggest problem is in how it's used, tracks just come and go, cutscene music isn't particularly good, and how all but the battle themes feel very meh
Nolan Hall
Ye, in KH. That's one of my favorite tunes from this soundtrack though.
Nicholas White
Leave it to Yoko Shimomura to successfully combine orchestral instruments, prog-rock and metal... and use it for a fishing theme.
:3
Oliver Carter
>My biggest problem is in how it's used THIS I'm really disappointed in how Omnis Lacrima is used for generic battles instead of an "oh shit" story moment
Cooper Murphy
Omnis went from my second fav track to one that i care about the least. Almost every enemy that is slightly bigger than you gets the fucking theme
James Morales
Nail on the head, really. There are fantastic tracks..It's just that most of the time you're listening to nothing, the battle theme, a 45 second town loop, or dull held chords in cutscenes.
Robert Barnes
Absolutely disgusting prices, why anyone would pay a pretty penny for this is beyond me.

I liked the way it was used when you woke up Bennu, the big black bird, in the first hour.
I hated that too because I knew there was no threat. Don't play threatening music without a threat.
Ryder Mitchell
They just plain copied Xenoblade with that.
Someone at SE probably went "guys, a lot of people love it in the Xenoblade games when a REALLY bombastic song starts playing the moment a huge enemy spots you, we should totally do that!" and then the other guys were like "yeah but we already paid off Shimomura and we're over budget so we can't be assed to hire her to do more..." and he just said "ok then let's just use the epic trailer music that everyone is already hyped to hear in the game" and they were like "but we were gonna use that for the final boss..." but then he said "tabata told me yesterday they're scrapping the final boss anyway, its just the one-on-one with human form ardyn now" and they just "oh ok then just use it i guess".
The opening 20 second or so seconds of the second phase (after you summon Bahamut) are fucking amazing. Plus the gentler version at the end with Gentiana's theme mixed in.
Jose Howard
It's basicly Kingslgiave + cut content and redesigns + different version of leviathan setpiece It honestly feels like the XV as it is now only started like 2 years ago since the first Duscae video and made even more changes in 2015
Nathan Lewis
King Regis was redesigned for the movie after his motion capture actor John Campling and it crossed over into the game.
It's strange that Kingsglaive Luna wasn't crossed over as well.
I like this OST but fuck these songs in particular. I don't know why this was accepted.
Jayden Brooks
This is now an XV thread, yes.

No, I mean those two portraits flash alongside each other in that one trailer, but the top one isn't shown in the side-by-side. Is it just supposed to be a stylistic thing or was there actually supposed to be something to it?
Seriously?

Isaac Mitchell
I doubt it, people always give Nomura shit for "wasting" money and time with a few minutes of gameplay and CG, but ever since Tabata took over we saw tons of CG and cutscenes that aren't in the game and the game clearly needed at least another 2-3 years. XV should've just been it's own new game and V13/the current XV should've been worked alongside it or just been cancelled The marketing surrounding this game was one of the worst things ever
Jonathan Williams
This soundtrack is pretty much writer's fuel and a prescription for writer's block.
I will enjoy working on my contemporary fantasy screenplay with this. :)
Henry Morris
It's sad how much content was cut or changed and how much lore and info is hidden in the artbook, guide, movie, prolouge book or drama CD
Brandon Flores
Top guy is Gladio's father yeah, and he actually wasn't redesigned - he was just aged up for Kingsglaive along with Regis. In the prequel game about Regis and his companions, he looks like in the 2013 trailer, and Regis also still looks like he did before the "redesign" in flashbacks in FFXV.
Jordan Edwards
It's quite possible that a lot of those CGs were in production by the time Nomura was kicked out. And perhaps Tabata is no better. But here's the thing when it comes to business: Tabada pushed a playable game out in three years. Nomura did not.

Why is Sylva blank? Is it because she only makes an appearance in the movie?
Grayson Watson
Man, what the fuck. It's actually infuriating how much content is left out of the game and shoved into some other shit you need to play / read / watch.
Hunter Martinez
I watched movie and anime, and now I have even more questions than after game.
Aaron Thompson
Probably didn't have a cg potrait like everyone else does or even an ingame potrait.
Just blame it on the nameless guy who made the flowchart and didn't know.
Isaac Cox
Where is that page from? Please tell me that's not exclusive to the Ultimate Collector's Edition.
Matthew Martinez
Yeah, just look at their positions relative to one another when comparing the old trailers to Kingsglaive, plus the original design for Clarus looks more like Gladio than the redesign so I don't know what the fuck they were thinking (maybe to match the motion capture actor?) Regis' redesign doesn't looks as much like Noctis than his original design does either, so whatever I guess.
