Simple doesn't mean it's not fun. Nier is just boring. You mash to win and everything is basically a damage sponge especially on hard. Gravity is a much better mechanic and it's unique too.

What type of game are you looking for?

Persona 3 or 4 can be fun if you're looking for turn-based combat with the classic, "group of high school misfits making friends to take on demons" story.

Nier's good if you can look past the average gameplay in favor of the atmosphere and bizarre/tragic story.

Gravity Rush is an entertaining take on the superhero sandbox game with charming characters in a surreal world.

Why does the term weeb have such a loose definition now?

I used to only really play and follow western games, not because I disliked Japanese games, but because western games get almost all the media coverage, so I only really knew about them. But then I played some Japanese games and I understood the Japanese developers put more attention to detail and fleshed out mechanics than western devs. For the most part it is:

I would highly suggest you play through the Metal Gear Solid games and get the DMC HD collection. Maybe the Souls games too. I think that is a very good starting point.

Ive always used the term weeb to reference anything Japanese even back in 08. It's easier and mode subtle than saying anime and video games

Don't get me wrong, there are still lots of good western games worth playing and I still play western games, but it's obvious that western and Japanese devs have different mentalities and approaches towards games. Just look at Mortal Kombat's approach to 2D fighting versus Street Fighter's, even though the latter came out first. You can also compare DMC and Ninja Gaiden to GoW and even Jaffe admitted that DMC has a better battle system, he just wanted to make a big spectacle game.

There's a weird price hike for a lot of PS3 games. I remember the gamestop I went too had the first Bayonetta on PS3 at a higher price than the 360 version, even though the 360 version is superior.

I wonder why Ps3 is pricier though. Rarer? Also is Nier for Ps3 OK compared to 360?

No. I mean, these people get into gaming and only buy what their friends are playing or what's popular. When (I mean if) they graduate from that stage, which usually comes from things like spending time on forums, meeting weebs and leaving your current friends behind, they then switch to our side.
