No, it really isn't, it perfected the "open" feeling of CE and the rigidness of 2, without sacrificing either. The only flaw it has is that the disc doesn't automatically fly across your neck and do us all a favour.

Halo 3 had the best overall package of all Halos. Best custom games, fun as fuck game types, forge, couch coop. If it had gameplay more like Halo 2's, it would have been hands down the best Halo. Everything went downhill when they added load outs and classes. Halo 5 would have been great if they had just kept everything simple.

Subjective, it's campaign had the best balance of good levels in the series. Halo 1 fell apart in the halfway mark and Halo 2 was a disaster because of the terribly designed Arbiter missions mixed in with the terrible ending. When it comes to mp I never really gave a shit about competitive play.

Played it on Xbox. Got Halo 2 and Halo 3 at launch.

Halo 2 Vista has a similar issue as well, in the PC version of Halo 2 for some unknown reason the color palette is washed out and bland. the graphical shine that Halo 2 is missing and I also thing it's missing the lighting system as everything is brighter yet washed out looking compared to the Xbox version.

Halo 5's MP is great dude, don't listen to the trolls. Literally classic Halo gameplay with fixed abilities that don't take away from the arena experience like Reach as Halo 4. It's kinda hard to get used to but since the last content update I've been having a lot of fun with it. Action Sack is awesome, there's a customs browser now, theater an file share are back, and even the shitty random Warzone firefight is tolerable now that it has different difficulties. Warzone Assault is basically watered-down invasion, too.

It's easily the best Halo MP since 3. Single player is garbage though, don't even bother with it.

Halo 3 fucked up and added a number of things despite being a fun game in its own right. Besides Halo 5 plays more or less the same except no dual wielding plus Spartan abilities.

And no matter how much you shitpost the Spartan abilities are infinitely better than armor abilities. Sprint has drawbacks now. Ground pound and the rush thing are extremely situational. Most importantly they're universal, it adds another layer to the base gameplay without fucking with the base gameplay.

I'm not gonna say it's better than the trilogy but it's certainly better than Reach and 4.
