None. I've been making one though.
Sorry for shilling in your thread.

...

Majikoi A-2

Just finished reading SG Zero and the true ending made me want to replay Steins;Gate so I'm doing that next.

Planning on reading Himawari after that since it has been shilled on /vn/ for years.

tsukihime

Me on the right

Nekopara vo.1

I love catgirls

Kakyuusei 2

Downloaded this a few hours ago.
I'll read it when I finish Myuu's route in しりこんまじっく

Just finished FSN. Don't read it, it's ass. Felt nothing for any of the characters until the end of Heaven's Feel. And only 2 characters at that. Just watch the anime.

The greatest story ever written.

finally started this gem

...

I've been out of the VN loop since Summer and I'm looking for some real pure-love kind of shit, be it lewd or not.

someone please explain why VN's are considered "vidya" without
>they are rejected on other boards

Visual novels covers a broad spectrum of stuff. Some involve only making choices and reading some some have some gameplay involved.

So technically not all of them are "games" but a few of them definitely are.

Musume Shimai.

Is it still only in moon?

...

I don't know? Whenever I think of VN's I associate them with games for some reason. Even though it's closer to a book with pictures and branching chapters.

>tfw I won't finish all routes before Rance VI releases in less than 24 hours

Oh what blessed time to live in.

Well in that case, I don't regret shit talking vn's on Sup Forums,
but thank you for being reasonable and helping out an user

The one with the glasses isn't that bad but the other three are pure shit. Step it up.

Suprisingly decent writing

...

I'm so fucking lost on just how many girls are being added to the series.
It's honestly on a case by case basis for the VN in question.

Ultimate Boob Wars

Is it actually interesting to read?
I downloaded the translated ver when it came out but never touched it since my dick was already pleased with the original one

No, you can get it in english now
Don't know where

I was looking around and my dick directed me to vndb.org/v1648#main but it's not translated.

Best

Rance V and VI soon

Pic related.

Actually looking at the quality of the writing and art, it's a really nice visual novel adventure. At the very least, it doesn't have a generic anime-artstyle like

They were decent faps. The first one is better though. The first animated scene with the DFC princess was top tier.

I rather just see a video of the full thing in english while I masturbate

Been reading Jojo and making my own

>quality art

Pic unrelated?

It's the opposite. Some games have visual novel elements but real visual novels don't have any gameplay beyond choices.

Just because you don't like the way the lolis are portrayed doesn't mean the technique is bad. The line art, coloring, etc. is very nicely done.

I think there's a distinction to be made. You're right in that some games feature both gameplay and visual novel elements but one usually supersedes the other. There are games with visual novel elements while visual novels with some gameplay to them.

No, it's actually just garbage.

>tfw struggling through hanahira and have to look up two words for every sentence
dekinai

I'd attempt to consider your opinion if you actually explained it a bit, but it's more of the same just like your previous post.

Like what? Name one visual novel with real gameplay that is a visual novel with gameplay instead of a game with visual novel elements.

it honestly just looks like a 2d clicker game id find on webkinz, but hey if that's what it's going for

There is a clear distinction between Visual Novels with gimmicks and genres that add Visual Novel elements to the gameplay as a narration device.

Something like VLR is a visual novel. Something like Ray Gigant is also a visual novel. Something like Ar nosurge is a jrpg.

A fun and entertaining one. It's given me 50+ hours of reading time so far.

just bought all these physical coming in soon

Utawararemuno, the first 1 only though.

Clock Zero.

From where? Manda?

Continuing on Irotoridori no Sekai over winter break. At my current pace it's possible I could finish the entire VN within two weeks.

I don't recommend reading Hanahira because it's just so damn boring. You'd be better off practicing on materials designed specifically for learning (I used an Anki deck for Tae Kim's sentences) and then reading an easy "moe" VN that interests you.

Not him but weeb art looks all the same and is used all the time in trashy browser games so what's your point?

Doujin Republic

fuck that top one is amazing, although i feel like drinking cyanide for being into it.

So, you just "feel" it's probably a mediocre game (as in you haven't even played it)? Possibly just because you don't like the art style?

Yeah...

Root Letter
I also just got my physical vita copy solidified for Sharin no Kuni
I have muv luv coming for Vita soon enough too, and I got confirmation that Grisaia's Vita port isn't cancelled.

Don't they horrible overprice everything?

Poor examples but I found Monster Girl Quest's "gameplay" to be an absolute joke and found everything so mechanical that I thought it was more tacked on than anything else. Then you have stuff like Galaxy Angel where the combat, while not fleshed out, definitely seems to have some thought put into it when difficulty can be managed. There's a few more I could mention but they tend to be subjective on my end.

I guess the point I'm badly trying to make is that some visual novels have gameplay elements that are more prevalent than their story content and vice versa while a few can manage telling a good story and be a good game.

VLR is an escape the room puzzle game.
This actually makes sense. The gameplay must be so shit that literally no one plays the VN for the gameplay for it to be considered a VN with some gameplay.

I just started the 1st one. Whats up with a-2?

well weeb art actually looks good on paper too, maybe this one should stay in browser games

That one's art is definitely differentiable from generic weeb stuff though.

>VLR is an escape the room puzzle game.

It's literally a visual novel with a gimmick and is even in the visual novel database.
You can subclass it as deeply as you want, but it still falls within being a visual novel.
Same with 999

yeah a lot of it is overpriced, i tried to limit myself but these are all unused new conditon with that nice artbook feel. But yeah i still use mandarake a lot

I asked why vn's are discussed on the 150 instead or even allowed out of genuine interest
I didn't even say anything possibly insulting towards people who like vn's until 2 people responded with "it depends"
All I did was open up a little and try to understand something through discussion, and here you are assuming things.

>literally no one plays the VN for the gameplay
That is true but the gameplay isn't shit. It's just meh but not half assed either, as in you can't just dismiss them as being pointless. Though sometimes the gap between gameplay segments is so long that you forget they even exist.

Nah, it's definitely a game. Sengoku Rance is also on vndb but it's relatively light on the text and really heavy on the gameplay.

>back Re: Sharin no Kuni Project on kickstarter
>really want the vita release
>up my pledge to be $100
>hour before it ends they announce no 18+ content for vita
I feel robbed, first and last kickstarter, thanks japan

lol same feel for me after i got into futa somehow

Kamidori Alchemy Master is also heavy on gameplay but it's still a visual novel.
Not all visual novels are single pathways or choices.

Did you really think you would get that on a console?
They even stated from the start of the kickstarter that it was the PS3 version being ported aka the all age version.
At least you're getting the PC patch for the porn so you can just pirate the base game and apply the superior translation

>Play Kamidori for pretty girls
>Get too much sexy after being deprived of it for so long
>Eventually stop caring about the sexy and would rather just have one girl to stay completely faithful to
>She doesn't have a route
>Just end up wanting to play the game and collect all the good shit

I'd say because they are video games, that are just lacking in in-depth gameplay and instead put full points in story instead. They're just a sub-genre of video games. There, problem solved.

Shutterchance Love

It has lots of nice little touches, like the CG gallery where the girls comment on their own H-scenes

I'm not 100% familiar with how KS works but if it went through and was completed and you didn't pledge anything, would you not just be able to buy the now finished product or do only people who back it get the items?

It had exclusive kickstarter stuff but usually you can buy most things after launch

People who pledge and successfully fun the KS usually get the game at a discount while receiving exclusive stuff. It becomes open for purchase to everybody two weeks or so after the KS backers get it too.

>reading visual novels

I'd rather play a real video game or read a real book, inbetweens are cancer.

i would love if it was replaced with big futas its really the artists style and the ahegao i like since masculinity disgusts me so i have huge conflicts with that doujin.

Why do people support KSs for VNs that have already been long translated? My reasoning is that if they are successful, it increases the chance for some untranslated VN getting translated, but I don't think that has ever actually happened.

Are you fucking retarded? Visual Novel doesn't stand above video games. Something with legit gameplay is always foremost a video game and then a visual novel. Visual novels are just extremely bastardized games, they are not their own medium.

It failed the first time but succeeded like, 3x over when the Vita port was added.
The novelty, I'm assuming. Not to mention scalpers can sell that shit for way more than the price they picked it up from.

You got a link for this gem, good sir?

whats it called?

Please recommend me a good first VN for a Japanese learner.

user, visual novels are a style of games. What you're saying is the same as calling FF games adventure games and not rpgs.

pick any porn game since they tend to have simple dialogue

Oh, that must be this.

i do enjoy big futa more, but i trick myself into looking at it as they're just lolis or really young. The style really depends though some look wayyy too masculine and i never get those

Do I need to play any specific Rance games before playing VI?

If you know a lot of kanji to make determining the meaning of words easier, try Eustia.

What exactly is happening here

Nothing at the moment, last one I finished was Taimanin Asagi and I'm still deciding what to do next. I'm either gonna do a short one before getting into Steins;Gate or just go straight into it.

That's what I'm saying retard. They are just a genre. And something like Kamidori is a SRPG since you obviously categorize games into genres which you expect them to be. If you say something is a visual novel you expect it to be just what it says, a visual book. Just text with no actual gameplay. But saying Kamidori is a SRPG instead of a Visual Novel actually explains way better what you can expect.

I only backed for the Vita port really
That's where I play most of my games so I always try to support new stuff for it

I'm wanting to start another one, just finished off Majikoi, and Princess Waltz.

Finished C;C a month or so ago and have been playing ToHeart2 lately. Looking forward to the next and last xCation game in spring.

I just remembered that a few months ago I played To Heart 2 and even thought I essentially stalked the girl I liked the most, I got the forever alone bad end. What the hell? It made me pretty mad so I haven't touched it since.

>Just text with no actual gameplay

>Name me visual novels with good gameplay!
>okay here
>Those aren't visual novels faggot!
>yes they are
>Visual novels can't have gameplay!

arguing with retards is the first mistake when traversing Sup Forums

>EOPs
